Don't Hang Up (2016)
honestly...
id recommend this movie for the ending, some what predictable, and somewhat not, ultimately rewarding. i mean, its touching on something millennials are literally making profitable lifestyles out of... who hasn't binge watched prank videos on youtube for hours before. this movie depicts a watch worthy result of one gone too far.
Parasites (2016)
gold.
parasites! randomly came across this movie while searching for another one, glad i did. i always read SOME reviews for every horror movie I'm about to watch, never really giving any bad review a 2nd look. Id re-watch this movie just for the score, and id recommend this movie to anyone worthy because of the ending, an homage to a great film. go in with zero expectations, listen to a few dope monologues, and just enjoy.
Holy Ghost People (2013)
don't visit sugar mountain.
now randomly finding this movie on Hulu of all places, i had no expectations at all... just bored one Sunday morning and i thoroughly enjoy cult movies, especially if done correctly.
in my opinion, Holy Ghost People is a little gem worth watching. the characters didn't need too much explaining, because of the almost poetic narrating in the beginning. i like the way the movie progressed because you think you can predict whats happening, but it quickly changes. i liked that the movie didn't need to be any longer, or any shorter, and even though other people didn't enjoy the ending, or thought it wasn't "flashy" enough, i thought it was completely what was necessary for this particular movie.
im excited to see what else this writer comes up with.
Hatchet (2006)
horror hypocrites? ha.
i watched this movie years ago, and it was one of the only movies i wouldn't read reviews on before i watched... randomly came across them recently... I've only read like the 10 most recent reviews of this movie and they honestly just annoy me. first of all... why years after this movie was made, let everyone know that because of all the hype you decided to watch it...?
anyone expecting Hatchet to be anything more than just straight up ridiculous gory fun is a complete idiot. Green himself doesn't understand why it was depicted as the next era of horror, or an homage to old school slashers.
a director who enjoys horror movies to the fullest, came up with an entire new serial killer, with a very classic background story, wrote a hilarious script filled with horror stereotypes and clichés, and just buckets and buckets of blood... what more could you ask for? what more could you want?
how about everyone just calm down. sit back. and just give it a chance.
i thoroughly enjoyed hatchet, and both sequels.
(there are a few icons in this movie, do you think they would be in it for no reason?)
