Prince Violent (1961)
A good cartoon, but not exactly great
This is still a pretty, entertaining cartoon, what was the usual antics between Bugs and Sam. However, you could see a decline in quality compared to the earlier Sam's shorts. During this time period, Warner Bros. Animation unit was going through some major changes, which included budget cuts, and thanks to that, this causes shorts like this to feature less detailed animation compared to earlier shorts. It could be seen in a few moments of the short here and there, but overall they're not too distracting. But the short is still pretty funny, and I recommend it. Overall, it doesn't feel too ambitious compared to the earlier shorts, let alone as good, but it's still a pretty good short in its own right.
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power: Heart Part 2 (2020)
A satisfying finale overall, but...
While it's satisfying for the characters and me, the audience member, there are a few problems. For one, Horde Prime is dead, meaning that those who follow him would need to get use to Etheria after years of being in a borderline cult. Also, those conquered by Horde Prime would have huge amount of damage across Etheria on a societal level, and conflicts will remain against a the Horde Prime and Etheria. While I still like the finale overall, it does feel kind of rushed and never shows the aftermath of what happened.
Adventure Time: Mortal Folly (2011)
This episode changed the show, and with that, TV animation as a whole
The moment Princess Bubblegum got dropped in a vat of acid at the end basically told us, the audience, that the show would never be the same. The Lich was a more serious villain then what you expect from the show at this point, as he nearly succeeded in his goals in this episode and the next, and with the ending, it confirms that the show will never be the same. Things to this episode, it inspired more animated shows to have deeper story arcs, more complex characters, and an overall darker feel then the cartoons from a few decades prior.
The Casagrandes: Bend It Like Abuelo/Bunstoppable (2021)
"Bend it Like Abuelo" was pretty bad, but "Bunstoppable," ooh boy...
Bunstoppable is what happens when the writers become too lazy. The plot of this episode has got to be one of the laziest written conflicts in this show, as well as of all time, as the plot is about time hopping bandits coming by due to freak accident. Keep in mind this is supposed to be a semi-realistic slice of life show, not some fantasy bullcrap that feels far more boring then the slice of life earlier episodes. It feels like just another stupid wacky cartoon, not the slice of life show that it initially was. You know something's wrong when the cliche of "being just a dream" would work better for this episode than what the actual plot was.
The Simpsons: Three Gays of the Condo (2003)
I'm sorry, but I cannot stand this episode
I'm aware that there are some people who like this episode, but for me, I cannot stand this episode. Let me list the reasons why;
1. It's yet another clumsy Homer and Marge marriage crisis episode: we're supposed to see both Homer and Marge as in the right; The problem is that they fight over something that happened in their high school years, where after a bad date which ends with homer getting drunk, and Marge realizing she got pregnant with Bart, making Homer believe that she's only staying with him due to that.
1 1/2. Homer's behavior; adding to the above point, he acts incredibly irrational, thickheaded, and incredibly brainless in this episode, trying to think he has a point when really he doesn't, as his behavior from that date was due to his alcoholism, which he still exhibits and doesn't even bother to quit. Hell, right before his date with Marge later in the episode, he got drunk, missing his date.
2. The gay stereotypes: this episode has a ton of gay stereotypes that have potential for to set up a good joke, but many of them ultimately fall flat, relying on gay stereotypes without any subversion or set up, making said jokes feel lazy and hollow. From what I've heard, the guest star from the episode Simpson and Delilah was supposed to come back, but even he felt the jokes were rather stale and plot made no sense, and I have to agree with him on that point.
2 1/2. Grady and Julio: They aren't characters, they're stereotypes. They were created at a time when adult shows want to be "in your face" about stuff like this, but the problem is that they are nothing more than gay stereotypes, without any sort of spin towards addressing said stereotypes. If anything, due to this, Grady and especially Julio's "characteristics" became more offensive as time goes on, with Julio actually becoming more stereotypical as time goes on.
3. The jokes: Like many modern Simpsons episodes, the jokes are rather dull, from the aforementioned stereotypes, to several tasteless jokes, from the beginning where Homer mocks Ned for his wife being dead, to a few easy jokes about single men in a scene where Homer goes to Bachelor's Arms at Kirk's place. There were a few jokes I liked, like how Homer mistook Lenny's face as a puzzle piece at the beginning, and how an old man mistook a gay's club for a army's reunion (Dunno why, but I liked that part), but were not enough to save this episode overall.
The only parts I liked, aside from the two jokes, is Weird Al's cameo, charming as always, and is probably the shining light towards this episode, "...even if it's for a brief cameo" (Fun fact, that line was supposed to be referencing King of the Hill and it's timeslot, but it had to be changed due to that show moving to a different timeslot).
Overall, this episode is a mess, and I wondered how it won an Emmy over Futurama's Jurassic Bark, a far superior episode over this one.
The Loud House: Sister Act/House Flip (2020)
The reason for a 1-star rating is due to House Flip
Sister Act is a 5/10, but House Flip.... like, my God. I don't know where to begin. The biggest problem I have is with the plot, because the characters acted like jerks and/or idiots.
This is going to be a long one, I swear:
* I cannot sympathize with the children because they're the ones who not only caused Flip to hurt his leg in the first place, but they also decide to bring him in their home instead of just leaving him in the hospital. Let me tell you, the plot of this episode wouldn't have happened if they didn't bring him in
* I can't sympathize with the Flip himself because he acted like a jerk towards the Loud kids even though they're trying to help them. Though to be fair, he's probably the most sympathetic of the bunch, as he has to deal with these idiots.
* I can't sympathize with the Loud parents, because they made the same mistakes as their children. Not only do they act hypocritical by leaving Lily on the stairs outside while calling out their children, but they also ran Flip over with their van.
The ending basically screws over everyone, with the Loud kids being punished, Flip getting run over, and the Loud parents having to take care of Flip as well. Bad episode.
The Loud House: School of Shock/Electshunned (2021)
Two terrible episodes for the price of one
Both episodes are pretty terrible;
* For School of Shock, The premise of Lisa being a schoolteacher is pretty out there, since she's a four year old, but I'm like "OK, then, let's see how this might work out," but then came the lousy fart jokes, as well as lousy attempts at humor in general, which drags this episode down. A dinosaur being brought to life by Lisa is just the icing on this garbage cake. It definitely kick the show in the foot, considering this is meant to be a show that kids can relate to.
* For Electshunned, Nobody even acknowledges about the fact that Leni is too young to be a mayor, expect for Vic, who is the main antagonist, who just wanted to tries to turn the tide against Leni, but I can't help to think about how much of a point he has.
Both episodes are just way too cartoony for a show like this, and they're not even that entertaining neither. Just skip these two.
The Loud House: The Boss Maybe/Family Bonding (2020)
The Boss Maybe's alright, but my problem lies within Family Bonding
If I were to rate The Boss Maybe as a separate episode, it would be a 6.5. Family Bonding, though, is a 1/10. This is because of the ending. It is revealed that The family Lincoln's spying over really were spies, and that Lincoln's right about everything about them, including the name of the corporation they're working with. I just can't get over the resolution, I really hate it, And it kicks the show in the foot, considering the original premise was about a relatable show about a boy and his 10 sisters.
The Loud House: Love Birds/Rocket Men (2019)
Two episodes; One good, one OK
These two episodes I have a very different opinion on. On one hand, i'd like Love Birds, considering how simple the plot is, and i'd give this episode an 8 If it's listed as a separate episode. Rocket Men, on the other hand, Is rather ok. I really love design for the camp, and the background art for it, but this episode as a whole is just another Lincoln and Clyde episode. I'd give that one at 6.
The 2000s: The Platinum Age Of Television (2018)
Could've been better
While it's good that they have focused on a lot of T.V shows and landmarks in the decade, there's just two small, but important, things they missed; animation and the 2007 writers strike.
For animation, this is a truly missed and wasted opportunity to talk about the rise of action cartoons (Justice League, A:TLA), as well as adult animation (seriously, not one mention of Adult Swim, Family Guy or South Park (while they did mention it in their previous series, the 90s, this show was in it's prime here than the previous decade)). And this is also a missed opportunity to talk about the rise of Anime in the U.S and its influence. I don't know why they never got to the animation industry.
The second is the writers strike of 2007. I never saw a mention of it at all, not one passing mention, despite the fact that it was an important event for the final stretch of the decade. This strike caused some writers to either be fired or caused shows that have their seasons shortened.
Overall, while it's a pretty good episode, I feel that it could've been better.
Prezzemolo (2002)
too sweet to say the least
It is too sweet and colorful even by horrible Italian cartoons standards. The said country also created Tentacalino, why should I be surprised? Watch an episode of it. It was unbearable. Heck one of the characters looks like an copy of the frosted flakes mascot. It is based on the mascots in some amusement park.
The characters are just ridiculous
A duck with an impossibly low IQ
A frosted flakes mascot copy, who acts like a jerk to his friends
I damsel in distress idiot
And a dragon.
There are still a lot of choices out there for your kids
Johnny Test (2005)
Bad just bad
Johnny test has very bad animation, most of the characters (Expect Dukey, being more saner, Susan and Mary, which I would feel sorry for, because of always dealing with Johnny, and Sissy, because... Well, she could be a good pairing with Johnny) are unlikeable, the plots are formulaic, the jokes are very lousy, its similar to Dexter's Laboratory
Johnny is Dee-Dee, but more annoying
Susan and Mary is Dexter, split apart
Dukey is also uninspired believe it or not. One episode features a dog, in which he could talk, thanks to Dexter.
Hugh and Lila test, Johnny's mom and dad, are like Dexter's mom and dad, but switching genders, (Lila, Johnny's mom, is Dexter's dad, and Hugh, Johnny's dad, is Dexter's mom, only more unlikeable), and flanderized. It doesn't help that the show's concept comes from "1995," meaning that, after Dexter's Lab first aired in what a cartoon, they quickly create the concept.
Score; 2/10.
Teen Titans Go! (2013)
this show is just...average
When watching the show the first time, I was shocked to see that the show had changed from the original. likewise, I don't liked the characters being flanderized into several jerks.
Robin; he is the worst of the team. He should know better, as a team leader, but would be careless, impulsive, egotistical, brash, hyperactive, hypocritical, and always talking to himself, which could be considered offensive for those who do the same, more than funny, whereas then, he was a perfect team leader, and a HUGE IQ of 110.
Beast Boy; he is another one I have problems with. He would often annoy his friends to no end, and would act like a slacker, and an idiot. In the original, he might be a little dense but always have the job done.
Cyborg; a jerk who would provoke his friends, especially Raven, but not as bad as Beast Boy or Robin. Especially Robin. In the original, though, he would be a joker but serious at the same time.
Raven; the least insane, one of some reasons I wouldn't get this show into a 1/10. She would have sense, something the rest of this team won't have. But she could prove to be just as stupid if worse, than the rest of the team.
Starfire; she is still getting along with the culture in earth. Nuff said.
Animation; not as bad as Johnny Test, or The Problem Solverz, but just ridiculous and very colorful.
Voice acting; actually very good; they bring most of the voice actors back, and would have the voices of the original series.
Plot; the fighting scenes are minor, the characters lack depth, and one episode implies that Starfire don't like Robin at all.
Humor; sometimes good, but mostly nothing special about it.
Overall score; 5/10
