Counterpart (2017)
Great premise
I really enjoyed the premise of this show, and it is refreshing to have a program that isn't about people with super powers, and actually makes you think. My complaint is the cinematography. I know they want to create a mood, but would it hurt to open the iris a little. I despise, this technique and find it a cheap trick and ruins the enjoyment. So I give this a 10 on script /concept and acting, and 0 on cinematography averaging a 5 score.
The Man in the High Castle (2015)
good idea but
Good acting, great cast , intriguing concept, but the lighting director, or cinematographer needs to be fired.
I wanted to like this show, but found it completely unwatchable due to the fact the camerman forgot to take the lens cap off the camera. This film is shot in the dark with no light, and is literally impossible to watch. I got through 2 and a half episodes and gave up. I hate when directors try to create a mood with lighting, or use lighting to cover up obvious flaws in the sets.
It would be nice to see this redone in more capable hands.
Tomorrowland (2015)
Imaginative, dazzling , and great performances
I went into this with somewhat low expectations, do to the poor box office. I was more than pleasantly surprised. It was visually amazing. The cinematography was so well done. A perfect combination of CGI and interesting set locations.
Acting and casting was superb. Britt Robertson is one of the most compelling young actresses. She has brought her A game to the big screen.
If you can get around the global warming nonsense that creeps into almost every film these days, Sort of like the cold war and Nuclear proliferation were in all of the films of the 60's and 70's., the plot is actually clever. I really enjoyed this picture and wish I had seen it in 3d. I think it may have a cult following in the future
The To Do List (2013)
Could be the worst Movie I have ever seen
THere is absolutely nothing worth while in this film. The casting is terrible, the lead character has no appeal, supporting cast is equally as dull, with the exception of Rachael Bison. How they got her in this film is a mystery.
Usually a movie like this has some sort of moral or emotional payoff at the end.. this had nothing. There wasn't a single laugh along the way.
Whoever wrote this trash should have their writing credentials taken away. Almost as bad as something Tina Fey would have written.
If you read this PLEASE Don't WASTE YOUR TIME with this one. I wish i could have my 2 hours back
