A Friend to Die For (1994)
the way it was structured...
I hate the way this movie focused on the perpetrator rather than the victim, or victim's family after the murder.
Angela (Bernadette in this movie) was so distraught that she had killed Stacy (Kirtsen), yet the REAL killer, didn't give a damn,in fact she "blocked it out" as i recall her saying for SIX MONTHS(!!) whilst the one in the movie, thought about it constantly.
Plus the movie made kirsten shine in a bad light, she weren't that bad. I know some peeps who knew her.
(wanna see a killer get all rights, just watch this movie) It's unfair. I'm sure Kirsten turning in her grave.
War of the Worlds (2005)
The movie OK, but not no classic.
Right, I just saw this movie and must say the special effects were fantastic, something Spielberg never fails on!! But the story line was WEAK and whats the point in having strong special effects if your story lines weak??? (Kinda defeats the purpose). To start off, we have the stereotypical "rebellious" teenage son that never listens to his father and then we have the "Look at me I want to overact to get good reviews" Dakota Fanning, that screamed at any given opportunity, which more than annoyed me. Even though I believe the novel is excellent, the movie lacked in areas and also anyone reading: (independence day IS BETTER in my opinion).
The empty streets of Boston was very erm, weird since the houses were all intact and it seemed like the aliens must have passed over that city. (pretty dumb as the aliens were meant to have destroyed the world and did a good job wherever Cruise and his children went). Then there is the mom who was wearing her best apron with her hair in a bun like she was about to cook the Sunday roast other than just been attacked by vicious tripod aliens. (HOW UNREAL)And another thing that completely annoyed the **** out of me!!, How the heck did the son survive??? I mean the tripods completely destroyed the grassy area with a fire ball but somehow he made it to Boston even though everything and everyone around him died. (And I'm not just talking about normal civilians, I'm talking about the military in their armours and tanks, they all died, but the son in his leather jacket and denim, survived!!, like WTF??) To be honest, Spielberg never fails on excitement (The special effects) but just like A.I, the story line could have done better.
Let us go back to the days of Jaws.....
