Brilliant film!
22 February 2024
Manjummel Boys, directed by the Chidambaram who gave us Jan e Man, is a brilliantly made film based on true incidents.

From the very first scene the director transports us to the centre of the story, the friends trip will make us feel as we are with them. The acting department is lead by Soubin and Sreenath Bhasi, honestly there isn't much space for them to perform but Soubin has done a good job in that, Bhasi doesn't have much screentime.

Now coming to the main highlight of this film, Sushin Shyam! Dude has hit it out of the park with the background score, at times it felt like a horror movie with his haunting scores. Sushin really elevated this movie to a whole another level.

Overall this a great survival thriller film that is elevated to another level by the music.

Watch it in a good theatre to fully experience the background score.

Save yourself and everybody you love, dont watch this.
28 August 2023
Vineeth Sreenivasan is an extremely talented person, his songs are heartwarming, his direction although feels cringe at time usually is good, but acting is not his cup of tea and of late he has been type casted as an eccentric character as in this film.

Another actor that i have zero opinion about is Shine Tom, he was good some years back like in Ithihasa and all but of late his acting is so clumsy, his dialogue delivery is atrocious. I see no acting chope on this guy that so many people choose to cast him. In this film it felt like he was forced to act and talk. Seriously guys who casts this guy?!!

When you have both your central characters played by these people no matter what content you push out it wall fall flat.

Please avoid this movie at all costs, and tell anyone you know not to watch this. Good lord!

Dull and Artificial!
20 August 2023
1001 nunakal is made as a slow burn drama of relationships and bonds.

The story is dull and the acting is overly dramatic with every bit of artificiality possible. There is nothing engaging in this film, there are a bunch of irritating characters talking nonsense.

Vishnu Agasthya is the only one who put up a honest performance, the rest of the cast was just below average performance.

As i have said the story makes zero sense, why would couples married for long years suddenly decide to tell their deepest secrets just in the name of a game?! I think the writters should try this game once within themselves. Utter nonsense.

A mix of a million movies!
8 July 2023
Anuragam is an attempt at romantic comedy then doesn't really hit any marks. It uses the same pattern of movies in similar genre that many of us have seen in the past without adding anything new. The story starts with a romantic track between the lead pair but quickly moves into their family.

As i have said in the beginning everything here is mediocre and already done stuff. The songs are bang below average, the cinematography is ordinary, the dialogues are borderline cliche.

In the acting department Johnny Antony does a nice job while everyone else looks ordinary. I really dont understand why Gautam Menon acts in films like this.

Overall Anuragam might entertain you if you haven't been watching any rom-com films before.

Hard Pass from me thou.

Please dont watch this!
19 June 2023
Please dont see the rating and watch this absolute trash of a film. The only other person who have written a review of this film is a funny guy, he gave the mohanlal film alone 10/10 says everything about his taste in films.

Coming to this movie I'll keep it simple, it is whole heartedly trash. The acting is bad, the music is bad, the dialogues are bad, the scenes themselves are barely believable. In a story dealing with a psychological issue the director lost his focus and tells the story about 2 girls, which may have worked if the lead actress wasn't so terrible.

These high ratings are probably done by the crew of the film so that atleast some will watch this monstrosity.

Good cinema but..
27 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
2018 directed by Jude Anthony is a good cinema overall, i saw this film the day of the release itself but decided to wait for some time before writing this review. Now that most of the people have seen it we really have to talk about the writing of this film, especially how lousy it is!

Dont get me wrong here i loved the film, it had good making not so bad music excellent vfx compared to so many films, but mainly because in the back of my mind i knew that these incidents happened in kerala and that's it. Thats how this film wins because if you take those memories away and see this as just a cinema then it fails miserably because the writing is really poor and lazy.

Characters are pushed into the story for no particular reason, they dont influence the overall storyline in any way. Some incidents are written into it that feels so unbelievable.

Example: The character of Lal changing the roof tiles of the school, my lord, he just said to evacuate the school because of rising water and who the hell goes to change that in the middle of all that!

2. Asif Ali's character was so out of it, one scene he is rebel who doesn't like fishing or anything related to boats next scene he is there with them! And then there is this whole segment of him risking his life to get some girls certificates and then there is a snake!

3. What was that tamilian doing in this film?! Absolutely nothing 4. Vineeth sreenivasan and that whole storyline?!

The only story worth remembering in this film is tovinos, and that too is borderline because of random stuff the director has pushed into it to make him look heroic.

For a film of this magnitude we expect a better story line.

Anybody can direct!
21 April 2023
If this is the standard required for a director then anybody can direct a film. What a absolute trash.

This film has zero redeeming qualities, the acting is third grade with each one of the main actors trying their best to do worse. The music is forgettable, the cinematography is amateurish, a high school kid could come up with these shots of neon overkill.

The less said about the lead pair the better! Melvin Babu should not come anywhere near a film anytime soon better fitted for social media vines. The heroine is equally worse with her voice dubbing un matched.

These are the films that come out nowadays and still the producers union cry that no one wants to come to the theatre and that actors are hiking their remuneration.

Make more trash like this and eventually no one would want to see a film.

Behave film makers, the audience have sense now.

Good Entertainer!
3 April 2023
I started watching this film with almost zero expectations, already planning in my mind to fast forward to the end but from the very start this film kept me engaged.

I'm not saying that this movie is so good that its a must watch but you'll have a good time, especially watching with friends and family over a bowl of popcorn.

The story is nothing serious and the film makers understood that and keeps the tone light and the cinematography and music all suits the mood.

Performances were good, especially that woman who plays suraj's aunt was witty with her dialogues and mannerism.

Overall its a fun movie to watch with your family.

Omg! Was this written by a 10yr old?
21 March 2023
I had high expectations for this film mainly because its Dhanush and he always come up with something different in his films, but this film is utterly disappointing. Although the core theme of the film deals with the privatisation of education which by it is a very powerful theme but here the direction was so lame and clueless that it feels like that B grade Telugu film.

Acting was below par from everyone, even as Dhanush tried his best most of the other actors were terrible and i still dont know why some one like Samyuktha who has zero acting chops was casted. There were portions of the film were the dubbing was off, the music felt over the top at times. All in all it is that type of film that has no subtlity and hits you straight in the face with its preachy theme.

Big let disappointment.

Lol. What the heck!!!
12 March 2023
Vijay should stop doing this foolish roles that requires nothing out of him and as each movie goes is making him look very dumb.

This film has zero logic, zero story and zero entertainment quotient in it. That combined with the atrocious vfx attempts along with nauseating aesthetics will feel like a kick to your head.

Forget about the money, giving 2.40hours of your life to this junk will be the biggest loss of your life. So do better and watch some other film because this one doesn't even qualify to be called a film.

Director better find some other job rather than trying to choke audiences in the future with these type junks.

One for the soul!
6 January 2023
Watching films with high expectations usually ends in disappointment but this one went above my expectation.

Tharun Moorthys previous film was one of my all time favourite films so going into this one i expected nothing less than a brilliant film.

Although there are some pacing issues in the first half of the film overall the movie makes up for it.

Performance was good and to the point from everyone but one person who deserve more praise is that amma who played that Ayishumma, what a performance.

Music was good, especially the one Job Kurian sang, ufff that song was something else, the pain just gets to you.

This movie will haunt you long after you finish watching it.

Tried too much and failed.
28 December 2022
The initial half hour or so is so good that it made me think why on the world did this film bomb at the boxoffice but as the movie went on i realized the many flaws in the plot.

This had the ingredients for being made into a good thriller but the director seemingly went for the wow factor (atleast that's what he meant) and in doing so has let down the story. And in the end the whole movie finishes off as a generic thriller film that you could watch with your family and kill some time but for the much keener audiences who expect a mysterious film please look away.

Aparna Balamuralis character felt under written and under performed making her role feel like a extended cameo.

Lack of focus!!
26 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The guy could have just focused on moving the main plot forward but decided to introduce many side plots and ended up with a mess.

Why would our lead character go for a leisure trip in the beginning with songs and all if she was going through all that tension, i mean who on the world would have the mind for that kinda trip if they had just gone through what was shown!?

The movie lost itself in the side plots, an otherwise good story which could have been made into a strong movie just dragged on to the finish line.

And a action filled climax that felt really forced.

Felt like an amateur attempt in making a film about a serious subject.

Warning: Spoilers
The dudes that wrote this film needs to do a lot of soul searching if this is what love and moving on means to them.

So the whole film is set in 2 days, the last 2 days of the main characters college days and it mostly involves a lot of talking.

I love romantic films that takes place just through conversations but this one has no meaning or direction for its dialogues. The hero is a guy who just doesn't accept that they broke up and does everything to get the heroine to his bed. I don't know what kinda love stories these guy's have seen but this aint love. More like kalippante kanthari we malayalis are seeing nowadays on social media.

If you want to listen to that beautiful song just youtube it or spotify it.

Avoid this wreck.

Potential spoiled by lousy screenplay.
28 October 2022
Let me get this straight first, this is by no means a bad film, but screenplay doesnt give the story enough strength to give the audience the needed effect.

The first 20mins of prelude had some of the best story telling i have seen in some time but from there the screenplay meanders. Cinematography was top notch with some brilliant shots, nusic was okayish though i dont think it fits a period fantasy film.

Aishwarya lekshmi gives it her all.

There are portions of the film that we wish we had a forward button and the climax showdown looked amateurish.

As i said in the beginning its not a bad film by any means but leaves a lot to be desired.

Sushin Shyam Magic!!
17 March 2022
This film runs entirely on the notorious background score of sushin shyam. Amal Neerad is as usual used all his known tricks, super slow mo, well lit up shots but all that would have made this film just an average one but Sushin just elevates this film to an top drawer film.

10/10 to Sushin! Bravo.

For those who look into the other nuances of a film here is my view, its just an average or below average cinema with little to no story, with no room for any of the actors to perform. Mammootty fills the screen with his swag, thats all to it.

A big bore!
13 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Let me get this right, so he in love with Sharanya because she did not react to that particular situation? Woww. And people actually loved this?

Mamitha Baiju's character is the only saving grace in this tedious bore of a film.

Hit n Miss
29 December 2021
Madhuram is a good film! But there a portions of this film that doesn't just work out or felt out of place. The acting, cinematography all seemed very good especially the cinematography which along with the music helped in that feel good mood. And that is also where the movie falls, too much feel good, would the movie hit hard it the ending was a tragic one? Something to think about.

All flaws aside the one thing that will stand out is JOJU! Man what an actor he has become, him and his story stands out here.

Breathe of fresh air in a sea of dull and doom!
19 August 2021
Of late Mollywood has churned out one after another of series films that most family audience cant see together, this one changes it all and in a wonderful fashion.

Each and every frame of this film is so fresh that you wont even know that its a 2.40hr movie.

Indrans was so good in that role so was Manju Pillai.

In a time when people are celebrating a festival of happiness and prosperity this is one film that the whole family can sit together and watch.

Full marks from me to the director of philips and the monkey pen, expecting great things from you in the future young man.

Cinematic Achievement!
20 July 2021
To do what marvel has done over the course of 22 films is near impossible and to end that in an epic film?! Wow, that needs appreciation.

To the people saying that the time travel is an insult to real time travel movies, come-on listen to yourself, no one has done time travel so no one knows how it will effect, wake up from your hate world and see it for what it is. I get what you are doing, seeing a film so highly rated because you don't rate it that high so you want to lower the overall rating, thus the 1 stars. Well good luck to you all.

2 July 2021
Nothing fancy here, no wow factors, no unexpected scenes, infact we have seen this all many times in many movies but you know what, its still managed to keep my interest for over 2 hours.

So get some popcorn, get your gang together, sit back and relax on your couch and enjoy some brainless action because we all need some entertainment in these times.

Much Love to you people.💙

My respect for Sir Alex increased after seeing this and im not even a United fan. This guy is a legend, the pure determination in him is something i haven't seen in any other manager.

The Family Man (2019– )

Good, but could have been better.
5 June 2021
The Family Man is a nice mix of drama and mystery thriller but just when you think its going to blow you away with some twist it drops its level. Season 1 was top notch mainly because the supporting cast was brilliant. Neeraj Madhav was exceptional in the first season but coming to the 2nd season apart from Manoj Bajpai rest of thr cast seemed dull.

Another thing is the climax or the last episode, both the seasons had a weak last episode which pulls it back down. This is the reason why this series will remain an above average one rather than a great series.

Anyway waiting for the next operation, the ending scene has me excited.

Great idea, amateur making.
28 April 2021
You have this larger than life hero playing the Chief Minister doing things that an ideal political member should be doing but in doing so the makers took out the believability factor off the film. Yes we all would like such a CM but thats not the reality. Mammootty does a very good job of the larger than life CM, infact he could do such roles without breaking a stride.

7stars from me for the good intentions other than that it is not that great a film.
