The Simpsons: Rosebud (1993)
My favorite episode!!!!
"Rosebud" is my very favorite episode of The Simpsons. I've seen this episode lots of times and have loved it even more every time I watched it.
It's a very nice episode about Mr. Burns and how his childhood teddy bear Bobo got lost and he hasn't seen it since. But when the Simpsons family receives it in a bag of ice, they wonder if they need to give it back to him or not.
My favorite part of the episode had to be when Maggie gave Mr. Burns' lost bear back. I thought that was so cute and sweet. Though I also liked when Homer saw Mr. Burns' bear through the fish tank and said "How long have we had these fish!". That was so funny!
So overall this was a very funny episode from season 5.
The Simpsons: Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire (1989)
A beautiful, sweet episode
"Simpsons Roasting On An Open Fire" is one of the sweetest and greatest Simpsons episodes of all time, and this was the very first episode.
Even though the animation might be a little crude, but that's the fun of it! I actually thought the animation from "The Simpsons" back from Season 1 to Season 4 was actually really good.
This was the episode that we first fell in love with The Simpson family; Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. It also marked for characters like Mr. Burns, Grandpa Abe, Patty & Selma, and of course, Santa's Little Helper.
Overall, this is a sweet, beautiful, and heartwarming Christmas episode that's great to watch around Christmas time.
The Simpsons: Lisa's Substitute (1991)
So sad, yet so beautiful
"Lisa's Substitute" has got to be one of the saddest Simpsons episode of all time. Every time I watch this episode I just can't help but cry every time. It's just so sad.
The Simpsons was best known for being a very funny cartoon, but yet they did have several sad episodes, particularly during season 2.
The most touching part of this episode was when Lisa's substitute teacher Mr. Bergstrom (voiced by Dustin Hoffman) had to leave because he had to take a job to another city and Lisa was very sad about it. She never wanted him to go, but he gave her a little note that said "You Are Lisa Simpson". You can't help but cry during this part.
Overall, this was probably one of the saddest, but most beautiful Simpsons episodes of all time.
The Simpsons: Bart vs. Thanksgiving (1990)
A very sad, but sweet episode
"Bart vs. Thanksgiving" has to be one of the saddest Simpsons episodes of all time. I saw this episode on Thanksgiving and I just couldn't help but cry. This was one of the many episodes of season 2 that were very sad.
The saddest part was when Bart ran away from home because he ruined Thanksgiving. When he ran away, he saw all those homeless people on a street. Then while Homer, Marge, and the family watch the news, they see Bart at a soup kitchen for homeless people. But at the end of the episode, Bart gets back home and Lisa forgives him.
So overall, this was a sad but very sweet Thanksgiving episode.
The Birdcage (1996)
The funniest movie ever!
I absolutely LOVE this movie! I only watched this movie because Hank Azaria (my favorite actor) is in it. The first time I saw it, I LOVED it! I watched it thousands of times because it's so funny and cool.
The movie has a great cast, too. Robin Williams, Nathan Lane, Gene Hackman, Calista Flockheart, Dianne Wiest, Dan Futterman, and Hank Azaria did a great job in this movie.
My favorite part of the entire movie was when the Goldman's and the Keely's were singing "I Could've Danced All Night" and Agador starts singing along with them. I also love the part where Agador dances to "Conga" by Gloria Estefan in the kitchen, but I love all the scenes in this movie.
But overall, this is a hilarious movie and also my favorite movie. Great job, Mike Nichols!
The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
One of the greatest movies I've ever seen!
I remember when I was in 3rd grade I became obsessed with "The Nightmare Before Christmas". I remember telling my friends at school my own "stories" of some of the characters. To this day, I still love it.
Everything about this movie is excellent, great, beautiful, every positive word you can think of. The songs, the animation, the characters, everything! Let's start with some of them.
The songs are excellent and they should've been nominated for an Oscar for Best Songs, and it should've won! My favorite song is Sally's Song, which is just too gorgeous for words. I also love This is Halloween, Kidnap the Sandy Claws (that song is hilarious), and Oogie Boogie Man, which reminds me of a Ray Charles song.
The characters are great, too. Jack, who is wise and independent; Sally, who is gorgeous, sweet, and kind; the Mayor, who's chatty and talkative; Lock, Shock, and Barrel, who are mischievous but friendly; Dr. Finkelstein, who's usually grumpy all the time; and of course, the Oogie Boogie Man, who's evil.
The animation is gorgeous, not like anything else I've seen. The movie was made in the early '90s and it has the most spectacular animation of any animated movie made in the '90s! This has been one of my favorite animated movies for a long time and it still is. In fact, when I get older and have a career in show business, I'll release an album where I sing songs from "The Nightmare Before Christmas". You'll soon see! This is a great movie and one of my favorite movies of all time. Great job, Tim Burton!
Duckman: Private Dick/Family Man (1994)
Great show!
"Duckman" is a great show. I first saw it when I was 10 years old at the time and after school I rushed home and turned on Comedy Central. I saw a cartoon called "Duckman" and I LOVED IT!! It's such a funny and cool show. It's created by Klasky-Csupo, who are great creators of cartoons. They animated some of my favorite shows ever, like "The Simpsons" and "Rugrats".
I've seen lots of episodes of this show and I think they're all really funny and sweet. The voice actors did a great job voicing the characters, too.
I wish that Comedy Central could bring this show back, along with "The Critic" and "Dilbert".
But this is a great Comedy Central show. Great job, Klasky-Csupo!
Dilbert (1999)
Really good show!
"Dilbert" was a good show on Comedy Central. I remember around 2005, one day after school I rushed home and turned on Comedy Central, because I watched it every day after school. After I watched an episode of "The Critic", there came a show called "Dilbert" and I watched it and I loved it! I thought it was really funny and cool. It's based upon the comic, which is good too.
I want Comedy Central to show reruns again like they showed reruns of "The Critic" and "Duckman" back in 2005. They had some great shows back then which need to return! If they show reruns of "Futurama" on Comedy Central now, why not show "The Critic", "Duckman", or "Dilbert".
But this is a really neat show. Great job, Comedy Central!
The Critic (1994)
Great show!
"The Critic" has got to be one of my favorite cartoons ever. I remember watching it for the first time on Comedy Central a couple years ago when I was in 4th grade or so. I rushed home from school one day and I turned on Comedy Central because I would always watch it after school. Nonetheless, I saw a cartoon called "The Critic". When I watched it, I absolutely LOVED it!!! It was so funny and cool. I loved how Jay Sherman would always say to a bad movie "It stinks!"
This is an excellent show. Jon Lovitz really put Jay Sherman to life when he voiced him. The show was created by the producers of "The Simpsons"(another great show!) and even Jay Sherman was on "The Simpsons" a couple of times! This was a great show. Al Jean and Mike Reiss did a great job making it.
Funny Girl (1968)
Started off great, but then got boring...
I rented this movie from my library along with "Hello, Dolly!" because I'm a huge Barbra Streisand fan. So I watched this movie first to see if it was gonna be great like people said.
Well, I was kind of wrong. The movie started off great, but then during the part where Nick returns, the movie went downhill at an almost "out of this world" speed. It got boring and dragged along.
One thing I did love about this movie were the songs. My favorites are People, Don't Rain on my Parade, and His Love Makes Me Beautiful, but that was it. The only thing I liked were the songs.
If you're a Streisand fan, this movie is definitely for you. But for some Streisand fans like me, it can get pretty boring.
Hello, Dolly! (1969)
Great movie!
"Hello, Dolly!" is a great musical! I rented this movie from my library along with "Funny Girl" because I love Barbra Streisand. I didn't like "Funny Girl" that much, but when I watched "Hello, Dolly!" I absolutely LOVED it!!!
I absolutely love the songs in this movie. My favorite songs are "Put On Your Sunday Clothes", "Before The Parade Passes By", "Hello, Dolly!", and "It Only Takes A Moment", even though all the songs are great.
My favorite part of the entire movie was when Dolly sang "Hello, Dolly!" with the great Louis Armstrong. Barbra should've been nominated for an Oscar and won.
This is a really good movie and musical, and thanks to everyone who was a part of it, it's now one of my favorite movies ever.
Futurama (1999)
Wonderful show!
"Futurama" is an absolutely wonderful show. Created by the fantastic Matt Groening (who also created the great "Simpsons") The characters, the animation, the jokes, the plots, everything about this show is great.
The animation on this show is beautiful, not like any other show I've ever seen. Even the characters are attractive, especially Leela, who I think is the most beautiful woman on the face of the Earth. Fry is really cute, even though this show is a cartoon. But you can't help to admit that the animation is gorgeous! All the characters on this show are great. Fry, Leela, Bender, Zoidberg, Amy, Professor Farnsworth, Hermes, and all the others are great.
They picked great voice actors too. Billy West, Katey Sagal (who I also think is one of the most beautiful women on Earth!), John DiMaggio, Lauren Tom, and Phil LaMarr did a great job with voicing the characters.
But this overall is a great show, and thanks to Matt Groening for creating TWO great shows ("The Simpsons" and "Futurama"!)
Family Guy (1999)
Hit and Miss
"Family Guy" is an example of a "hit and miss" kind of show. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it's horrible. You don't know until you watch some of the episodes.
Usually, if you watch the older episodes from 1999-2002, they're great, hilarious, and sweet. They focused on how each of their lives were, like if the main bar gets closed, or if something wrong goes on at Chris and Meg's school, and so on. They also had musical numbers on the show which were great! They were all very catchy and fun.
If you watch the newer episodes when the show was brought back in 2003, sometimes the show can be just violent, offensive, or crude. They focus TOO much on the flashbacks or too much of Herbert, who started off as a minor character in the older episodes but then he becomes a supporting character.
Though, if you ever watch the episode guest-starring Frank Sinatra Jr., it's one of the newer episodes but it's great! It's just like it was one of the older episodes.
But all in all, Family Guy is a "hit and miss" show. You might like it, you might not.
The Simpsons (1989)
Great show!
"The Simpsons" is an excellent show and possibly the greatest show in the world. I'm very glad that they've made it 419 episodes! The characters on this show are fantastic. Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Maggie, Mr. Burns, Smithers, Patty, Selma, Krusty, Milhouse, Ralph Wiggum, Mrs. Krabappel, Principal Skinner, and all the other characters are great! My all time favorite episodes are Rosebud, A Star is Burns, Lisa's Wedding, King-Size Homer, Homer's Barbershop Quartet, Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire, Lisa's First Word, and New Kid on the Block. The Simpsons Movie is great too! Though I might say, some of the episodes from seasons 10 to now aren't very good. But some of them are great, like Moe Baby Blues and Don't Fear the Roofer.
Thank you Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria, Harry Shearer, and all the other voice actors for providing this great show. But especially thanks to Matt Groening and James L. Brooks for creating this great show.
