Person of Interest (2011)
Was better, a lot better than now, but still watching hoping for an upturn.
Had I given the stars a few years ago, I would have given it a 9 or 10. At first, Jim Caviezel's character was being defined as this sort of batman like character that just could fix everything with just sheer brute and the experience he had from being and agent of some kind like an assassin. Harry, Michael Emerson's character has always been the brain. Here is what I like still..It's intelligent, not cheesy like the the WB shows for super heroes. They don't try cheesy drama moments or cheesy sexuality to pull you in. Honestly we are all so much better than that and this show recognizes that fact. What I don't like now is 3 things, Everything is all over the place. They are introducing so many characters without defining who they are or their purpose...The plot is all over the place without seeming to close out the show sometimes and I always feel at the the end of a show that there are about 10 plots that are unfulfilled going on and it leaves me frustrated...They are making the men too weak, I mean I love girl power, but not at the expense of the guys, come on. Jim Caviezal's character is turning out to be a flake now, not because of Jim, he is awesome, but because of the writers. For me, his talent and character was making that show in the beginning. I'll never forget when he woke up this rapist after beating him into oblivion and let him know that he was going to watch him the rest of his life. Now Jim is reduced to an occasional line and occasional ass kicking. Honestly you guys are missing a major resource here keep your personal feelings out of it¡ Go back to Batman style mixed with 24 intelligence and we will keep watching!
The Pinkertons (2014)
Great Show!
My husband and I have fallen in love with this show! It just keeps getting better with the plots and especially the mystery is getting really good. With so many reality shows and cheesy sitcoms, I had forgotten how much I enjoy a good mystery. The casting is well done, and the characters are pretty well defined and the story flow on each show is like a good book. This show treats the audience with intelligence rather than cheesy one liners or moments every 5 seconds that try to pull your chain for either to laugh or think about sex. It's so insulting! Really, we all have much more substance to us than that. This show has intrigue, its engaging, with enjoyable characters and not to mention the set, the beautiful scenery is pleasant. I would only like to see here and there a little more defining of the characters that gives us a clear picture of say why they are doing what they are doing and makes them tick. But honestly if they never did do that I would still enjoy this show tremendously.
