Barracuda Queens (2023– )

Wish they would have given us more
17 June 2023
I typically do not start watching a new series that are only around 30 minutes per episode but somehow I did with Barracuda Queens and that's ok. The language is dubbed not very well but that's ok as well. It didn't negatively affect my opinion of it because I enjoyed the short easy breezy series. In no time I was finished with it and wishing they would have given us a hour long episode when making it. I am from the states and had never heard anything about the girls but we are similar in age. Maybe that plays a role in why I enjoyed it as much as I did. I can't help but wonder how they all turned out. I hope well!

The Snow Girl (2023–2024)

Worth it
3 February 2023
I am usually immediately turned off from watching something that is dubbed in English and nothing the actor's say match up but I kept trying to overlook it because I was interested in finding out who did this and also who did that. Clearly nobody is going to be invited to all the award shows BUT that's fine. In my opinion, it was still good enough that I wanted to watch one episode every day until it ended but not too good to where I felt the need to binge watch it too quickly. I don't have a problem with that! I felt like I wanted to leave a review that explains my opinion in case there is someone like me who checks the IMDb rating for a show or movie before they start watching it and they immediately see a good bit of really low rating's. I would say that the series doesn't really deserve that many low rating's but a rating is based on each person's opinion or perspective. I would suggest giving it a try if anyone is on the fence since the ending looks as though they are probably going for a season two.

Animal Kingdom (2016–2022)

It's over and I might kinda miss the Cody's
22 December 2022
Per usual, I was late to the party of "Animal Kingdom" but it didn't take me very long to binge all six seasons. When I started season four I wanted to come here to read the reviews but decided not to because I didn't want any other influence on my opinion of what was taking place with the Cody's. Now that it's over I was able to see my opinion was very similar to most. I was afraid things would start declining with each new series because that happens often. There were some things that they could have done without adding but it's not a deal breaker for me personally. Smurf's facial expression's and flaws were almost too much or weird in more ways than one but I just tried to overlook that part of it. I like a series that has character's I end up caring about or rooting for in some way or another and that happened here. The way it ended makes me think that there could be another season or even a spin off to see "now what are you going to do" but supposedly the 6th season was the final. I guess it's left to our imagination. If someone asked me for a good bingable scripted series recommendation I would definitely include Animal Kingdom, if they haven't already seen it because like I said, I was late starting it to begin with. It kept me entertained, intrigued and looking forward to each episode to see what was going on with all of the main character's.

I'm still hanging in there!
19 November 2022
I didn't know anything about this series until season 2 started recently so I decided to give it a try. I started S1E1 about a week ago and I just watched the very last episode. I'm glad there's a season two so that has to mean I like it. I can't say that there were any moments that made me laugh out loud like most people think we are supposed to with anything labeled as a comedy but that doesn't necessarily mean that it wasn't actually funny, in my opinion. I like watching a series that has character's I form an interest in. The kind I feel the need to see what happens to or with them and season 1 gave me that. As of right now I don't know if the second season has any of the same character's, except for one, but I kind of like not knowing all of that so I can just let it all unfold with each episode. By the way, she's a strong character so I can see how she would be perfect for returning season after season. I'm hoping that when I start the new season I can pace myself a little better so I don't finish it as quickly as I did the first one. That's hard to do when there's so many different ways to watch tv shows these days. Most of us keep a device in arms reach and that's how "binging" happens. I would recommend this show to anyone looking for something easy to watch.

I'm always late to the party
6 November 2022
Yes, it's almost 2023(man that looks weird to say) and I just recently started watching this series. Unfortunately, I have no self control when I begin a series that is really good so I end up binging episode after episode and before I know it the end is near. I'm trying to not do that here so at this moment I am halfway through the second season. For some reason I was having a hard time really connecting with the first two episodes but all of a sudden I was hooked and hitting next at the end of each episode. I just paused it to come here because I wanted to see if anyone mentioned a crack dealer by name who took over the LA streets in the 80's. In real life! I feel like I'm watching one of the guys I've heard tell their story on one of Vlad TV's interview's. If you know, then you know. For example, Ricky Ross. As far as my review goes for what I have seen so far, it's really good and I can't believe I'm just now watching it. The names of the actor's aren't typical big budget names but their acting is, in my opinion. I saw people mentioned how the scenes jump from one to another without any explanation of what actually happened and I too have noticed that a little bit but it's nothing that interferes with me being able to keep up with what's going on. I'm just going with the flow and it's flowing just fine. There was a scene or two in the first season that was kinda tough to watch. The violence was pretty uncomfortable even for a scripted show but so far I haven't seen anything else quite that bad since then, thankfully. Another, if you know then you know! I have grown attached to a couple of the main character's and I'm already worried about what is going to happen to them. When I'm watching a series that makes me want to watch episodes continuously when it's possible, that is the reason why. I'm invested in the character's even if I already have a pretty good idea that it's likely not going to end well for them. There's always hope though, right? That right there is what makes a good show for me personally. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who isn't sensitive to violence or language.

I hate when I binge too quickly!
15 September 2022
I started watching Breaking Bad when it first came out and really liked it but for some reason or another I quit keeping up with it. I recently saw Better Call Saul on Netflix and added it before I realized what it was actually about. I was worried I would be lost but I wasn't. I just finished the last episode of the last season before I even realized I was on the last one. Imagine the disappointment when it wouldn't play the next episode! I wasn't ready for it to be over with BUT I'm going to go start S1E1 of Breaking Bad. I hope I can pace myself better with it. This series has the right amount of comedy and drama with good actors. Very well done!

If only it were longer
2 July 2022
Season two update: I feel even more strongly about the episodes needing to be longer than 30-35 minutes! It's the kind of show that I try REALLY hard to not watch too quickly because it's a real bummer when I finish it. Each character gives you something to peek your interest or care about just as much as you do the main character. I want the best for each of them but even more so as a team working together. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a new series to watch. It has the right amount of comedy and drama that makes it a great watch for anyone, in my opinion.

I wouldn't change anything about this series except make the episodes longer. Everyone did such a good job portraying their roles and I can't wait for the next season!

Geez, tough room in here
23 May 2022
After I watch a movie I sometimes come in here to see what others have to say. I'm not sure why I started doing that but I did. If the movie wasn't the best but I still feel like it was better than the very low rating it kinda makes me want to try to give it a better score. Unless I feel like it really deserves it. I guess the low rating might be why I don't even remember hearing about it when it came out. Maybe nobody was talking about it, I guess. After I read some of the reviews I still feel like it wasn't as bad as most think it was. I don't think it was bad at all to be honest. Obviously it's not getting any big nominations at the Oscar's but that's ok too. It held my attention all the way to the end and I was actually a little surprised by certain events. I'm not one sitting here trying to figure out a movie the whole time I'm watching either. I try to just let it play out however it plays out on it's own instead of beating it to the punch. So this is only my opinion as a normal 42 year old non professional IMDb user.

Finished the series pretty quickly
14 May 2022
When I keep watching the next episode of series instead of my normal show's that are recorded on my dvr that lets me know I am pretty interested in the show and really want to see how everything goes. I was a little girl when this happened in real life so I didn't know anything about it before I started watching it. I think all the acting was great and the way they summed it all up in five episodes. It probably could have easily been only four episodes but either way it was ok. When we got to the episode's where the Detective's come into the picture I was a little surprised to see Ms. Beil-Timberlake included her husband, Justin Timberlake in it. Some people might not have even noticed who he was but if you know, you just know. I guess they just figured why not do it and I agree. Why not!?

Too good
26 April 2022
I am late to the party but I'm glad I made it. Somehow I have gone all this time not knowing anything about this series but once I started it I didn't want to watch anything else. The cast, soundtrack, scenery and plot was all great! Even though I didn't want it to end I think it ended in the best way possible.

The Girl (2012 TV Movie)

Tough crowd in the comments!
5 April 2022
Of course we have all heard the name of Alfred Hitchcock if you were born before what, 1985 maybe? 1978 here. Anyway, I wasn't very familiar with the man's personal life and I had only seen bits and pieces of his films but I have heard him mentioned more during the beginning of the current "me too" days. Don't we kinda assume that a pretty girl was disrespected and thought of as a sexual object to wealthy men with a little power in Hollyweird? I would say it happened(s) more often than not so I wasn't really surprised to see it happen to/with "The Girl". I don't know if it's because I wasn't very familiar with him but it looks like I didn't think the movie was bad like most of the other reviews I scrolled by. I like watching movies based on real Hollywood celebrities from back in the day. They usually leave me wanting to browse the internet to learn more about them and this movie did just that even though I'm a little late to the watching party. Regardless, I think the IMDb score is a little lower than it actually deserves but it is what it is because we all have an opinion. Mine happens to be a healthy 7.

I had time to watch something longer than a hour
22 February 2022
I knew nothing about this movie before I clicked on it. I happened to scroll past it on a very early morning while I was just drinking my coffee in peace. I'm not one who usually likes to watch a comedy movie when the plot is totally unrealistic and a little goofy. This movie is a little bit of both but I was actually able to watch all of it. So, that lets me know it's not terrible but that might just be because of the cast. The cast is good. Nevertheless, it was ok. I wouldn't watch it again but that's ok too. If you don't mind watching movies that's kinda unrealistic and you don't want to watch something for two or more hours, this wouldn't be an awful choice, in my opinion.

A Million Little Things (2018–2023)
10/10
The right mixture of everything
29 October 2021
Update: I forgot that I left a review until I came to leave one just now. After watching the recent season finale I felt the need to tell anyone who hasn't watched it a little something that a lot of us might need to know about this series. I believe everyone who created and acted in it played a role in touching something inside of us that we 1) might have forgotten 2) never knew we needed or wanted and 3) left us with something to carry on in our real life with our very own family/friend's. The season finale was done beautifully. Right down to the dog making a little whimper. THAT was my cue to almost loose it!

I didn't start watching this show till 2021 when I accidentally came across it on Hulu. I don't usually watch scripted shows but decided to check it out. For me, it checks off all the right boxes for what I would like to spend time watching. Drama, humor, love, friendship and humanity in general. It didn't take me long at all to get caught up on everything I had missing and before I knew it I was trying to find out when another series would start. The most recent one on Hulu might be my favorite because at the end of each episode I'm wishing I could keep going to the next one. Unfortunately I have to wait just like we normally have to do with any series we watch on tv. A show doesn't have to be full of sex scenes, violence or a ton of bad language in order for it to be great and also mature. It makes you think about the things that is currently going on in the world today with yourself or even someone you know. Probably both. If someone asked me what would be a good scripted series to binge, A Million Little Things would be high up on my suggestion list.

Jacinta (2020)

All too familiar story
15 October 2021
How many families do you know that are or were going through a situation similar to this? I'm pretty sure more than half the people who watched it would say many. I think they did a great job following the ups and downs over a period of time. I was so scared there was going to be a sad message at the end telling us that Jacinta or even her mom died. Choosing who you procreate with and when is the most important decision one can make in their life. Jacinta's Grandparents should not have brought children in this world when they did because it started a cycle of neglect and abuse. Truth be told, it probably started a generation or two before then. That's easier said than done in some situations but none the less important. Crucial! I applaud them for putting it all out there for the world to see because it just might help someone make better decisions along the way. I wish them all the best!!

Raw
2 July 2021
This was done very well, in my opinion. There was one scene in particular that he could have easily taken out because it was very raw, emotional and a lot of people don't want to let people see that, much less strangers. I finished watching this documentary not really thinking about the documentary itself but more so Olivier as a person. It seems like at this moment he doesn't really expect to ever feel happiness or joy in his life because he feels like he will always be searching for answers and I really hope that changes for him. Just another example of how someone can appear to have it all yet it isn't enough. When it showed scenes of him sitting quietly in his house, alone, I kept thinking he needs a puppy. Obviously a pet isn't the answer to all someone's problems and it might seem silly for me to say that to some people but it really is good for a lot of people. He might not even be an animal person, I don't know, but I kept going back to that thought. I'm sure he has lots of fabulous moments in his life because he is after all living his dreams but when you have to sit in your own thoughts, it can be a very different story. Oh, one thing I can say about the documentary itself is I wish more of it would have been in English because I wanted to be able to look at his work more in the moment and his pretty face (yes I said pretty, sorry) but I was having to read words on my tv screen. But that's really no big deal! I hope he is happy with the way it all turned out.

Makes you wonder
9 February 2021
I did not know much about "Wonder Woman" or the claims about it prior to watching this movie. Some say its a true story, some say it's not because the Granddaughter said it was all disgusting lies about her family. Maybe she just didn't want so many details on the big screen for the world to see or maybe it is really just "disgusting lies". I guess it really doesn't actually matter at the end of the day because either way it is still a good movie BUT imagine if it is true. All three of them made history and I'm sure were really inspiring to other like minded people. The acting is very good and it does tell an interesting story, to say the least. It left me wanting to know more.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda...been better
18 December 2020
Do you remember Susan Sarandon in the movie Stepmom with Julia Roberts? After all these years I still tear up during certain scenes. That never happened here. Not even almost! I actually think I dosed off for a minute somewhere in the middle of it. It felt like they just had to fill in some open space just to finally get to the departure. I wouldn't watch it again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.

So good but just awful
12 December 2020
It is 2020 and somehow today was the first time I've ever watched this movie. I don't know how I missed it. I really liked it but not in the same way of a "feel good movie". I didn't know anything about it other than the summary and the whole time I felt anxiety and was wondering what was going to happen to them. Obviously the acting was great. That should go without saying. I know Candy's parents didn't have a lot of screen time but boy did I feel for them! It's like I knew them and could feel everything I assume a parent in that situation would feel. It's a movie so yes, some things were not totally realistic but it didn't matter. You still get what you need and it can just be ignored. For me, this is a movie I could watch more than once and I would recommend it to someone else but I'm sure most people who watch this genre have already seen it by now. Casper said something that has stuck with me. He told Candy something like "when you can stop you don't want to but when you can't stop you want to". By the way, I totally didn't expect his last scene.

Sometimes I rate a movie based on if I would watch it again because I am the kind of person who can watch a good movie many times over a period of time. This movie I will not watch again but it wasn't awful. I think the current rating of 5.8 is pretty spot on. I do think the actors did a good job though

17 October 2020
This series came out in 2016 but I am just now watching it. I had a lot to catch up on and when I watched the very last episode of season four I felt sad. I felt like I was going to miss the Pearson's. Then I found out a new season actually starts in just a couple of weeks. What a relief. I don't normally watch scripted shows but I really enjoyed it. Everything was done very well and I would definitely recommend it to someone who is looking for something to binge watch.

We all know that one person
26 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I think this movie is good. Pete D did a great job because it was a relatable role. Everyone did a good job. If not personally, we all know that one person from back in the day who got stuck in life. It was so real that I'm still feeling like I'm actually glad Mo got in trouble when he did, even though he felt like it was the end of the world because it gave him the perfect opportunity to change the course of his life. If he kept on that same path he was going to end up living on Zeke's Grandmother's couch with nothing real to look forward to in his future. Surely Zeke didn't want that for his little buddy BUT in his mind it's not so bad because one day it's all going to work out and be great. Realistically that's not how it usually works. See, I feel somewhat connected to them. That's how good they were in their roles.

6.5 stars to be exact
22 September 2020
I'm writing a review because I don't think people should avoid watching it based on the low rating. Yes, the movie is filmed in nothing but hotel rooms and with only two actors BUT there is actually more to it than it sounds. I honestly found myself get a little restless in the beginning but I still was interested in finding out what was going to happen to them. After about 15-20 minutes it picked up for me and I didn't feel the need fast forward it. I've always felt like 95% of people are capable of cheating on the person the love. It just takes the wrong kind of day with the perfect opportunity and BAM! I actually wish I didn't feel like that but I'm almost 43 now and I have felt like that for as long as I can remember. So I can see how they ended up in the mess that they did. Though "the husband" was never in the movie I felt really bad for him, even if he didn't know anything about it.

It's a hard no for me
19 July 2020
When I need to decide if I like a movie or not the first thing I do is ask, would you watch it again. I'm the kind of person who can watch a movie I like on and off for years. I didn't even really want to finish this movie much less ever watch it again. I've been watching movies with Nia and Omar for 20 years and I really like them both as actors but this movie did them no justice. If you are going to make another stalker movie there needs to be something that keeps drawing you in. It's so predictable and cheesy! I don't recommend it b

Timeless
12 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This movie came out in 2008 and we are now halfway through 2020 (COVID-19) but I still watch this movie from time to time because it is that good in my opinion. In 2008 people bought DVD's often and this is one that I bought. Skipping ahead to 2020, we have smart tv's with a ton of options to watch basically whatever you want to. I now have the movie purchased through my amazon prime account so I can watch it whenever I get the urge. I am 40 years old so technically I don't know what it's like living during the 50's but I can definitely still relate to the Wheeler's. To me, Leonardo has been a brilliant actor since he was just a kid. Kate is also wonderful. Imagine this was real life for a moment, from the outside doesn't every couple seem to have the ideal marriage/life? Yet we have a man who is secretly in love with his friend who lives next door, another man just wants his wife to shut up so badly he chooses to hear nothing at all just to quieten her noise by turning his hearing aid down low and then we have the wheeler's. They were once full of life, excitement, joy, dreams and passion but life happens and before you know it the years passed you by. I imagine this happens to 90% of couples who start a family. We just normally try to make the most of it the best we can. I don't think anyone here was "wrong" even though both of them have done some dirt. April took a drastic turn though. She was hopeless and without hope for something in our life we have nothing to look forward to. So now that I have written a small short story I'll just sum it up as yes, I recommend this movie no matter how old it is.
