Repentance (2013)
Expected turns in the plot
This was a good, well acted movie and had pretty good character development. It took time to fully understand the histories of the characters and their interactions. Whitaker, Mackey, Epps and Lathans' performances were strong and kept you guessing as to how it would end. It did leave a few unanswered questions, specifically about the reappearance of the mother, how and why: the dissolution of the marriage of Angel and his wife; the hostility between the brothers and why there was involvement between Angel and Tommy's' wife; why he had such free and unencumbered custody of his child when he was so obviously disturbed.
It was a good movie and kept me watching.
M3GAN (2022)
The doll we all wanted
M3gan, the protector becomes more sentient and protective of her charge...until, as expected, she goes seriously overboard. Sent to help Cady, a seriously obnoxious, untrained, traumatized child, through a difficult period in her life, M3gan goes beyond what her creator thought she had developed and becomes stubborn, defiant and emboldened. As time progresses, Jemma, the developer tries to maintain control and get ahead of the possibility that M3gan is seriously dangerous and needs to be "fixed" before her launch date, but 4 foot tall M3gan has other ideas about how to deal with the adult's surrounding her.
Free Guy (2021)
So stupidly entertaining and funny
This was creative. Early on we started recognizing sampling of so many movie plots and we couldn't and didn't want to turn away. We laughed the entire movie. Ryan Reynolds is excellent in his NPC role of the average Guy.
This was what we needed. To be entertained. To laugh. To cheer. To rewind and laugh some more.
Worth the watch.
The Tomorrow War (2021)
Fun movie with interesting view of sciences
Attention keeping movie that delves into many scientific theories and what ifs. Entertaining, with likable characters and some humorous dialogue. It was fun to watch.
Things Heard & Seen (2021)
Had potential
I gave the first 2/3 of the movie a 5 star rating. I thought it had potential as the story unfolded, but, I have no idea why it ended up in the direction that it did. Totally took away from the movie. I gave the ending one star, for WTH?!?
