Premalu (2024)

A joyous fun ride of comical and romantic moments

Premalu is an out & out rom-com entertainer from Girish AD. There is no single dull moment in film and that itself is the biggest plus of the movie.

The comedy strikes all the right chords and the cute romance between Naslen & Mamitha are sure to tingle some nostalgic memories in your brain. The movie is also very relatable and would be an instant talk among the young audiences.

All the actors have done complete justice to their respective roles. The camera work is too good. Music from Vishnu Vijay uplifts the movie and gives the movie all the freshness it needs.

A 10/10 from me. Thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Big congratulations to the full team of Premalu.

Bheemante Vazhi (2021)

Movies like these need to be celebrated!

Bheemante Vazhi is a beautiful movie dealing with a relevant issue. Addresses the social barriers seen in the society. Backed up excellent performances from the Star-cast. Music must be given a special mention for uplifting the mood.

10/10 it is.

Excellent movie from director Pa. Ranjith. Presenting a cliched subject in Boxing in a very society oriented manner with all the emotions. Excellent film making technically. Music from SaNa is brilliant. Top notch movie all around.

Would have been a great theatre watch.

Drishyam 2 (2021)

A worthy sequel

An excellent movie. We all have a notion that sequels don't live up to the prequel. And some movies do have messed up sequels. But Drishyam 2 just wipes that slate clean.

Beautifully laid story, that starts where the first part left us at. An excellent build up in the storyline backed up with brilliant performances from all the actors. The music too was really good. The one song too was really nice & emotional.

The climax twist just sweeps us off our feet. And a beautiful last scene to top it off. Drishyam 2 is a must watch for all. 10/10 it is.

Vettam (2004)

Master (I) (2021)

'Master' is more of a Lokesh Kanagaraj movie than a Thalapathy movie

Action packed mass-entertainer is what we should call 'Master' as. But it's not just all-out action without any sense. There is a really good storyline that the movie carries throughout.

A very strong well defined villain in VJS. An absolute class act from Thalapathy. Excellent songs & BGM from Anirudh. Followed by good camera work.

'Master' is a class act with mass on point. The only cons are: The length of the movie; and some of the scenes in the movie felt unnecessary.

Great Pongal watch. 10/10 it is.

Trance (I) (2020)

Class all the way! Fahadh Faasil is just wow!

Excellent movie from the renowned director Anwar Rasheed. Fahadh Faasil is just brilliant as Viju Prasad/Pastor Joshua Carlton. The movie handles a sensitive issue in such a class manner. The movie conveys a deep message to the audience. The camera work from Amal Neerad is on another level. Background Music lends the movie a class feel. Co-actors Nazriya, Dileesh, Goutham Menon, Chemban, Soubin, and Vinayakan too have done an excellent job.

Overall very happy & proud to see such a movie from the Malayalam industry. 10/10 it is.

Classy, gripping and entertaining.

Just watch it. One of the best series I have watched. Watch it for the clear and crisp story telling, the suspense the script carries, a brilliant execution from the director combo and the excellent performances by the actors.

Darbar (2020)

DARBAR - a one time watchable entertainer.

Thalaivar is back again, this time in AR Murugadoss' DARBAR. A typical cop action movie with all the elements for a Rajnikanth movie.

The story-line even though weak, has a good message to convey. Songs and BGM lend the movie a mass feel and elevate the fight sequences.

Overall a one time watch. My rating - 8/10.

Iruttu promised a lot with the trailer. Unfortunately disappointing experience in theatres. Reasons being a not so strong storyline. The flashback scenes weren't gripping and the romance scenes in the movie were unwanted. Only a few jump scares were good in the movie. The movie would have been a lot better if the run time was cut short.

Kaithi (2019)

One of the best movies from Karthi. Excellent making and direction from Lokesh Kanagaraj. Beautiful camera work. Slick storyline. Action packed scenes and the icing on the cake is Karthi's performance.

P.S: The BGM by Sam CS was on an other level.

Kaithi deserves a 10/10.

Asuran (2019)

Asuran - The Calm before the storm

Vetri Maaran - Dhanush combo never fails to mesmerize us. Yet again proved by Asuran.

Brilliant storyline. Natural and breathtaking performances. Great message conveyed.

We do not come across movies that make us ponder a lot these days. Asuran makes you ponder your very existence and the struggles one had to face in life.

A must watch in theatres.

Love Action Drama (2019)

Fun, entertainment, and a bit of action!

L.A.D directed by Dhyaan Sreenivasan is a comedy drama starring Nivin Pauly and Nayanthara in the lead. It's a fun filled entertainer with lots of comedy throughout the movie. Humour is well used in the entirety of the film, jokes were good, emotions too had their part to play.

Star of the show once again is Nivin Pauly with his energetic & fun filled performance. Nayanthara portrayed her character really well and Aju Varghese was brilliant with comedy.

The songs and the BGM were really good in lifting the feel of the movie. A good message too was conveyed in the end.

Overall a great family entertainer. 10/10

Kalki (I) (2019)

Adi, Idi, and Mass. 🔥

Kalki is a great mass entertainer given by Tovino and Praveen to the Mallu crowd. Movie has some great mass scenes and dialogues followed by some comical bits as well.

The storyline is not that great, but the characters are well portrayed. Jakes Bejoy's BGM and Music lend the movie a pakka Mass feel.

Overall Kalki is a movie not to be watched with your intelligent brain, but with an open heart. Only then can we enjoy the movie to the fullest!

Unda (2019)

Unda - A real class movie

One of the most realistic movies I have ever seen. Such was the class in the performances given by the actors. Such a simple story but a strong message conveyed. Mammootty was brilliant as S.I Mani, Khalidh Rahman is proving to be an asset to the Malayalam industry with his class direction, and special mention to music and background score.

Overall a great experience. 10/10

Virus (I) (2019)

Virus - The power of togetherness & team work

Brilliant movie right from the outset. Excellent storyline. Great portrayal of characters by the actors especially Sreenath Bhasi, Kunchacko Boban, Parvathy, Tovino, Rima Kallingal, and Indrajith. The BGM score was awesome.

The movie depicts the collective efforts of the all the people involved in the Nipah Virus attack that happened in Kozhikode. Overall a brilliant movie that showcases how important team effort and togetherness plays a crucial role in such a critical scenario.

Must watch.

NGK (2019)

NGK - Not your daily political drama.

NGK is a hard core political film from the renowned Selvaraghavan. The movie dives into real world scenarios and the acts that happen behind the scenes.

The best part about the movie is the acting of Suriya. He has done absolute justice to the character of NGK, transforming himself to a pure politician at times. Sai Pallavi and Rakul Preet too have done an excellent job. The BGM of Yuvan stands out in the crowd and then emotional scenes, lifting the spirit of the movie all together.

The first half of the movie is well put together than the second half that felt clumsy and had unwanted scenes. The songs were good, but some distracted the flow of the movie.

Overall NGK is definitely worth a watch because of the social message it conveys to the audience, the exceptional acting from Surya & others and for the Selvaraghavan-Yuvan combo yet again. 9/10

Super Deluxe (2019)

Super Deluxe - What life outside your window looks like.

A realistic movie on how life is outside your very own home. How we perceive it to be and how it actually throws us in the deep end. A beautiful storyline weaved through many characters each depicting something important in this life and all culminating to a common destiny in the climax.

Vijay Sethupathi, Fahad Faasil, Samantha and all the cast were exceptional in their performances.

Super Deluxe is a work of art from the director Thyagarajan. Must watch in theatre. 10/10

Lucifer (I) (2019)

A Class act with Mass on point.

A class movie from start to end. Mohanlal is just brilliant in the role of Stephen. Dialogues are punchy and the action sequences are good too. Overall a great movie. Kudos to Prithviraj for his directorial debut.

Thadam (2019)

A well written and executed movie. Arun Vijay's powerful performance is the star of the show. The movie is paced really well. Great build up of different layers of the story as the movie progresses. And a brilliant climax in the end makes Thadam a must watch movie. Full marks for the movie and the crew.
