Apocalypto (2006)
A great movie! (A posting using correct English grammar and spelling)
This movie is perhaps one of the best movies I have ever seen. It is filled with wonderful cinematography, characters, actors, story lines, the list goes on. Although this movie is painfully accurate in some instances it was not meant to be a movie just about the ancient Mexican civilizations. This movie was meant to portray the strength that love builds between people. It was meant to show that for love this young man would do anything to get back to his wife and child. For love this man was willing to fight to the death to save his entire family and village. So that's it this movie is about LOVE and nothing else.
Not everything that is about other civilizations is racist (which is a misnomer anyway).
Once you can look past your own prejudice then you will be able to see clearly....movies are for entertainment.
When you post a comment about a movie or its director it would probably be more powerful if you used correct English grammar, spelling and punctuation. It would be easier to understand and therefore get your point across much more clearly.
The Passion of the Christ (2004)
Awesome and Powerful Movie
I was very reluctant to watch this movie but finally broke down and watched it with my husband. The violence is very dramatic and gruesome, but very much needed to express the horrors that Jesus suffered. Although, to be quite honest, the brutality that Jesus suffered was more than likely far worse. You have to understand that these people that gave him up to be tortured and crucified hated him because they honestly thought he was being blasphemous. (Which was considered one of the worst crimes during that time.) They did not believe that he was the Son of God, therefore needed to be punished without regard to humanity. But the movie portrays it incredible well, and it moved me to tears. This movie, for those who believe, well make the Crucifixion that more meaningful and powerful. It will make you love God and Jesus more than ever. It will make you have compassion for Jesus. This man, the Son of God, knew what was going to happen, but he still pressed on with his journey. He willingly suffered unspeakable torture and was nailed to a wooded cross and hung there until he died to save us from our sins. What an awesome man he truly was, and what an awesome meeting all those who believe have in store. Amen to Mel Gibson for such a strong and powerful movie. Thank you.
Wildflower (1991)
Patricia Arquette is phenomenal!!!
This has got to be the best movie, TV or otherwise, that I have ever seen. It does all the right things, touches your heart and takes you right into the lives of the characters. Patricia Arquette is one of the best actresses of all time. She rarely gets credit for her work, she deserves so much more. All of the characters are wonderfully played and the chemistry is incredible. What a great movie for everyone to watch. I think that all people can benefit greatly from watching this movie. It delves into a part of human suffering that more often than not isn't mentioned or is just glanced over. Although I am not deaf, I have had experiences with deaf people and they are some the most animated and expressive people I've ever met. Patrica Arquette plays her character so well, that it's hard to realized that she's not really deaf. Actors like her are few and far between.
