Mount Joy (2014)
Worth it for the cinematography alone, but so much more...

Against the backdrop of a perfect summer in Lancaster County, PA, Lewars weaves a story of a spirited love gone awry for reasons unknown. The pieces of Everyman's life come together and apart despite the efforts of a close-knit group of friends to elevate him to his Rock and Roll destiny. From a visceral and visual and emotional standpoint, there are few finales as poignant as the final scenes of Mount Joy. The acting was precise and honest. The writing, unlike most films, was natural and true to how normal people talk to one another. The cinematography and direction and coloring were superb. I felt as if I was watching a home movie of my early 20s, but as an amply-budgeted Hollywood film. It is surely worth viewing.
