Well, They Tried
10 August 2022
All the actors were game. Even Drea De Matteo who got NOTHING to do. The tones of the three stories didn't mesh well. Kat Graham's tragedy porn storyline with Ryan Phillipe went SO hard that it veered into camp. Or maybe it started off campy - hard to say. Cackled several times at parts that were not meant to be funny. Not bad for a Five Dollar Tuesday experience in a half full theater. I appreciate the IDEA of Kat Graham continuing to get acting roles even though the outcome is always dicey. I miss her aspiring pop music era.

Ponderous, Missed Opportunity
9 June 2021
I don't know what movie all these ten star reviewers were watching, but it wasn't the same one I saw. I don't know that I have EVER seen a gay movie longer than two hours, but this was not the one that needed to break that barrier. All those overlaid dream shots could definitely have been cut. Nothing really happens in the movie until the last half hour. I know that some movies like to marinate in the emotions of the main characters instead of having lots of plot, but let's save that approach for the pros. They could have cut plenty of BS from the sister's screen time, had less "atmospheric" scenes, and amped up the role of the associate pastor character. In fact the story didn't even get interesting till the last few moments of the film... the story could have gone in a very interesting direction after that point so too bad it wasn't the halfway point of the runtime... oh well.

I Want Season 2!

I don't know if this show is a tv series or a web series, but what I do know is that it's one of the most competent gay ones I've seen. I'd rank it up there with similar, and similarly good, projects like Eastsiders, Whatever This Is, and The Outs. They accomplished a lot with a handful of actors and a half dozen shooting locations. A little slow and dreary, but enjoyable.
