Taylor Tomlinson: Have It All (2024 TV Special)
9/10
Killed Me
14 February 2024
This special had me reeling. From cringe first parental 'sex talk' memories to crazy religious upbringing stories, these jokes hit way too close to home. Her crowd work was excellent as well, flowed right thru the jokes and just kept going. Like honestly some of the best crowd work jokes I've ever seen. You can tell she's been perfecting her craft. That's it - killer special, will definitely watch again, and now I want to go back and rewatch her old specials. Taylor killed it and made my boring Tuesday night a laugh riot! Check it out, she is awesome! Thirty six more words required blah blah blah.

Hilarious can relate to nearly all of it

Warning: Spoilers
When I saw Ali Wong presents i had to check this out, I love her specials and her writing and now directing. These jokes had me dying, jeans at Costco, basketball at the park for 8 yrs and don't know anyone's last name, and the crem de la crem the eye cream bit using the ring finger (it does nothing else you see) just slayed me. 10/10 this set was fkn great! Netflix does it again with the comedy on a Friday night. Yessir. Highly recommended, especially if you are an Ali Wong fan or like to laugh or like dudes with luxurious locks of love. Oh and briefs. Mfin briefs yo! When you gotta go from boxers of your youth to the dependability of the brief.

A movie that stays with you
29 August 2022
There are several scenes (Star Lasso Experience for one) that are just so beyond anything I've ever seen, I can't get it out of my head. I went in not prepared so my brain just got beat to a pulp. Reading thru reddit I'm definitely not the only one, and I think that's what JP wanted to achieve. He probably has moments like this that stuck with him, that he wanted to set out and create his own 'jaw on the floor reactions'. There are songs that get stuck in your head, pieces of art that get stuck in your head, this film is just a visceral make you puke or run out of the theater and you'll never forget it as long as you live. So I don't know about all these negative reviews, this movie f#cked me up, and that is well worth the price of admission for a horror movie.

Kirtan loves Kerry
13 August 2022
I love this episode- Kurtan does so much for Kerry that she doesn't even realize, sure it's funny as all get out but Kurtan defines selflessness to make Kerry's birthday special. And STEAM FAIR!

Man they nailed this episode. The bleak synth dystopian soundtrack, the scifi tropes, I was mesmerized the entire time. And I also wanted boba!

Can't wait for part 2.

My favorite collection of songs from the boyz
15 May 2022
This episode is damn genius. Bret buys a cup and creates a money vaccum that they can't climb out of. Song "My Sugarlumps" hits so hard, then to pay bills Jemaine becomes a prostitute and Bret sings "You Don't Have to be a Prostitute" in the reggae sound of The Police which is my favorite Flight of the Conchords jam. But dang season 2 has so many great jams and the album "I Told You I Was Freaky" nukes any sadness that might creep up.

This episode killed me. There were so many jokes within jokes I was having trouble catching my breath. Every encounter Paul Downs had with the HR lady just slayed me, like milk out my nose levels of comedy. Bless this show.

Fun metal romp with a fun payoff
15 April 2022
Being a metal-head, I have a sweet spot for any movies with metal as a theme - this is a fun progression of the musicians to their kickass battle of the bands performance - guitarist guy is a bit of a bummer with his rage issues but whatevs. Thanks DB for moving past GoT and incorporating your love for metal into your writing.

Fun little romp thru the late 90's
4 December 2021
Great flick about making new friends, discovering new music, and how cool record stores used to be! Asked my wife what she thought at the end and she said "bittersweet" and I couldn't agree more. Some happy, some sad, all mixed in to one fun movie. The inner-workings of a mixed tape all flushed out - with Nick Thune as the standout imo as the gruff record store owner that takes the main character under his wing to share the love of music and mixtapes.

Thanks I hate it! Best episode of the season
30 October 2021
That 1st story with the girl and her mother at the Canadian border had me yelling "No! No I hate it make it stop! Noooo! No I hate it ahhh!" over and over. My favorite of the season, thanks for saving the best for last I guess? Last season the Evil Dead at pbs was the best and season opener. Anyways, thanks I hate it!

An entire, incredibly funny episode about a f##king pen! From start to finish, no side stories just all 100% pen. Everyone got to contribute to the pen story. This deserves an Emmy. Creative AF.

Mike Flanagan is an excellent scary storyteller
4 October 2021
Everything he does on Netflix is just so damn good. This prequel film has the same charm, and it punches you in the face with a "wHaT tHe.." several times, this will go down as a cult classic and favorite of horror fans.

This is funny. Harry's fish out of water, Meghan's constant reference to Suits, the "help's" Downton Abbey routine, the Queen's constant F bombs. I loved it. It's a cartoon, just watch it and laugh yall.

I loved Channel Zero, was always just trippy and unsettling. This is like channel zero graduated and moved to Hollyweird. Great slow burn at beginning and gets weirder and weirder and faster and weirder and it's a great binge. Lost Highway meets True Romance plus Twin Peaks with its own flair and also kittens.

All hail Labyrinth homages
17 May 2021
I always love a good salute to killer 80's movies, especially when it's a Labyrinth homage. They truly nailed this, as soon as I heard the trash man's British accent I knew we were headed to Bowie land. And to top it off to was Jemaine Clement!

Quote something from this daily
9 April 2021
Thanks to this album, Patton Oswalt lives in my head. "Sterling Virginia!" "You like ice cream kid?" "KFC failure pile!" "Death bed, the bed that eats people!" My wife and I have been quoting from this for 16 years now. God I love this man.

You have too many cameras! This is what can happen when what was meant to be a good thing, gets twisted and abused. Heck this may already be at play in Asia... good statement though to raise awareness that facial recognition and AI, gone rogue, can really mess up society

Best BMX movie of the 80's and prob ever
26 July 2020
Cult classic of cult classics captures BMX in the 80's perfectly. Countless montages, underdogs, bullies, cheaters, snarky rich guys...and ass sliding! Cru Jones made everyone want to start riding bmx directly after the credits. Even Tosh.0 is a huge fan! Rad Racing baby!

Harvey Weinstein and his star pupil JLaw
13 July 2020
This was not a good movie. The Weinstein brothers manipulated the reviewers and the academy to give this movie good reviews and an Oscar to JLaw because she played by the Weinstein rules - why do you think she hasn't done anything of note since this or since Harvey got busted. This was a dull movie and a flat presentation from JLaw as usual. Bradley Cooper and DeNiro are always great but this movie sucked.
