Snowball (1960)

Excellent Little B Movie
17 April 2024
Hadnt saw this before but caught it recently on Talking Pictures. An enjoyable little movie of how Peoples lives are affected by one small lie from a school boy (played by Dennnis Waterman who contrary to another reviewers opinion, actually did have have a few hit TV series playing lead roles such series as The Sweeney, Minder and Minder.

Kenneth Griffith is great as the accused Bus Conductor, while Gordan Jackson and Zena Walker play the parents of the boy. Throw in a rookie news reporter and things really do "Snowball" and makes the film gripping and shows just how one little white lie can cause so much trouble and consequences.

The Finish Line (2023– )

Totally Awful Show, certainly no Pointless
11 September 2023
Whoever devised this game show obviously was running out of ideas. No matter how hard the presenters try to make it interesting, it really isn't an entertaining show. The contestants have to answers questions before each round for "position on the grid" then answers question to get through to the next round. After the qualifying questions, Sarah Greene attempts at building excitement as she reveals each contestant times is cringe worthy. Hopefully Season 1 will also be the Final Season and it never see the light of day again. If there was any justice someone at the BBC would accidentally delete the entire series including any unairred ones.

Avoid at all costs
26 February 2023
Watched this for the first time recently on TV and god i wished i had switched channels as it is one of the worst movies i've ever seen. Not surprised that i subsequently read that it was responsible for the bankruptcy of Carolco Pictures. Shame they didnt didnt pull the plug on this awful movie and saved us the horror of having to watch it. The story is awful, the acting poor, a movie that Geena Davis should have turned down. I had avoided this film for 28 years and hopefully it be another 28 years before i see it again, but will make sure i turn over early on. Would give it half a star if i could. Unbelievable that some people have rated this higher.

Dont believe the hype, Its Good but not Great,
13 February 2022
After seeing how much it was being hyped up, i thought i'd see if it was all justified. Sadly i found that it was just a pleasant little movie, hard to critical of the young actors, and both Ciaran Hinds and Judi Dench give decent performances but overall it just didntt do it for me. Didnt help that the soundtrack was mainly made up of Van Morrison music as i find his voice quite irritating. Will be surprised if it wins best picture at the oscars as there are certainly better movies out there but if you're stuck for something to watch on a rainy afternoon then this is fine.

A Little bit interesting but also annoying
30 November 2021
Watched this after being recommended by a friend, found parts of it interesting but also some of iy quite annoying and boring. I guess its one of those films you either love or hate. Maybe being from Belfast I'm more critical than others. Something to watch if there's nothing else on.
