I've always been fascinated with the anomalies, theories, conspiracies, mathematics, dimension, and creativity in books and movies.
If I had to say that I have a favorite sci-fi author, it would be Isaac Asimov. I found his work to be more dark, thrilling and imaginative. The kind of stuff that would stretch my mind and be thrilling.

DUST Collection (2020)
The original meaning of science fiction: Dust Collection
I have been a science fiction fan for 5 decades. I have seen it evolve from basic creative thoughts out of this world. Now in 2023, it seems like anything can be label science fiction, from fantasy to whatever that is considered not to be real.
Science fiction use to have a certain standard and to my opinion, the Dust Collection reinvents that standard so far.
I've only experienced a few of episodes from the Dust Collection. I found them to be highly creative like old science fiction used to be that left the audience wondering with an open mind as to what will happen. I like how the authors kept me guessing up to the end of the feature. The few stories that I saw were not only creative but very entertaining too. This Dust collection is new to me, but I'm sure I will follow more episodes to see what beholds and update my rating score.
Beyond Impossible (2022)
Pick a Side
I found this very informative but repeating the same message over and over and over. I also found if you remove the narrator, this documentary was subliminally promoting it's adversary. This documentary seemed to place me in a seat to pick a side.
Godzilla vs. Kong (2021)
Godzilla v King Kong in Cinema Dolby Effect
I'm not a big CGI movie fan. I usually gravitate to movies with a great screenplay. Although, there are CGI movies that also have great scripts that I've enjoyed like, The Day The Earth Stood Still and Star Trek The Undiscovered Country.
When I saw Godzilla v King Kong, the cinema dolby experience enhanced the CGI and brought the character alive in the screen.
This was great entertainment taken to the next level. The theater effect of cinema-dolby made me feel like I was there. Because of the theater effects I gave it a great rating.
To me, it felt like an amusement park ride.
That's Entertainment!
The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008)
The Day The Earth Stood Still: Forecast.
There couldn't have been a better time to release the 2008 sci-fi thriller The Day the Earth Stood Still.
Earth. One of the greatest planets to ever exist. So rich in life giving resources, yet, taken granted by humankind.
This is our home, and we need to take care of it and preserve it, or earth might end up like our neighboring planets.
It seems like movies that try to reflect an important message to the audience, usually don't come off so well at the box office. I understand why. After a long work week, today's audience expects great entertainment to escape reality.
But, The Day the Earth Stood Still is one of those sci-fi movies that subliminally displayed reality. It speaks to the human consciousness, that we are destroying our mansion in the sky and I think the Universal Planetary Neighborhood Association is pissed.
Alien³ (1992)
Alien 3. The Ballad of Ellen Louise Ripley
I found Alien 3 presented a fresh addition to the science fiction genre. To me, this movie compared as a space drama, and was well needed to quiet things down after putting the audience on the edge watching the outstanding horror 1979 Alien and the excellent thriller 1986 Aliens.
After Alien and Aliens presented great hyper-entertainment, I found Alien 3 needed to be freshly presented in a pianissimo tone. If 20th Century Fox had given us another movie similar to 1 and 2, then 3 would've been just a repeat of great entertainment, like other action movie franchises.
It was an audacious move by the studio. Alien 3 was creative, dark, and should've ended the Alien franchise as a trilogy, before giving us the prequels Prometheus and Covenant.
The First Purge (2018)
The First Purge was Retro
The First Purge was time well spent at the theatre.
As the movie unfolded, and reached about the halfway mark, I realized it was becoming very familiar and had many characteristics of some movies that I've seen before. While watching it, I was hoping that it diverted in a different direction, but instead, it proved me wrong and became very predictable.
Timing is a plus for the release of a Hollywood film and this movie couldn't have been released at a better time in the U.S.
The First Purge was a revival of the Blaxploitation movie era.
Ronin (1998)
Ronin is great cryptic entertainment
This movie put me in the seat as an investigator trying to figure out where this cryptic movie was going. In my opinion, great entertainment is a movie that keeps the audience wondering where a movie is going as it unfolds.
Ronin seemed to be almost in real time, that kept me on the edge following it. I could not take my eyes off the screen. This was another movie displaying espionage at it's finest.
Contagion (2011)
Contagion. Art imitates Life
Contagion was a movie that approached me in a documentary style of 'art imitating life' in cinematic form.
Previously, l had no desire to see Contagion when I first heard of it. As I predicted, this movie didn't deviate from any of my expectations.
Now don't get me wrong. I love docudrama movies, and also cinema that informs the audience like, Lions for Lambs 2007, to movies of different genres like The Day the Earth Stood Still.
But Contagion was a docudrama thriller, without creativity. This movie presented itself to me like the science of Nova or National Geographic, without narrative by someone like the late great Stephen Hawkings.
Get Out (2017)
The Stepford Black People
In 1975, a movie hit theatre's named The Stepford Wives. In the 70's this movie was a cinema display of terror for women. When I saw Get Out, I saw the same script renamed 'The Stepford Black People'.
Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979)
Star Trek The Motion Picture: Pre AI
In an era where reality and numerous movies are overwhelming us about artificial intelligence, Star Trek The Motion Picture is one of the classic pre AI era motion pictures.
It was also executed well bringing its original television cast to the big screen.
Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
That's Entertainment! Terminator Dark Fate
I watch different movies with different expectations. Dark Fate was a movie that delivered the action, entertainment and great CGI that I had expected. As with all the previous Terminator's, I was entertained again.
