I can get why people like this film, though I thought there was too much style over substance. I thought Nicole Kidman was pretty bad in this movie, was annoying, and did not deserve her Oscar nomination. Though I thought Ewan McGregor was good as usual. The costume design and production design was really great. I thought the editing was abysmal and cinematography was pretty strange. Jim Broadbent's performance was pretty good though campy and Richard Roxburgh's performance as The Duke was in my opinion no very good and way too goofy. The love story it's self is okay but nothing special. Ewan McGregor's sidekick or whether were very weird and unnecessary. The singing was really good and I did really like how they mashed up different songs. The movie was so weirdly paced for me, that it ended up feeling almost tiresome. To me this isn't a horrible movie and I get why people like, but it just isn't my cup of tea.

A fun but flawed ending to the Skywalker saga
27 December 2019
The Rise of Skywalker has many fun actions scenes but has many story and character flaws. Pros: Good action, good special effects for the most part, good acting for the most part, and lots of unnecessary but fun fan service. Also some of the characters decisions are mostly good especially for Kylo Ren and C-3PO. Also the banter between the team was pretty good and fun. I also liked that Lando finally returned to the series though he is in it for only a short amount of time. The movie does do a good a job at making you nostalgic for the original trilogy and there are super really cool and exciting lightsaber fights.
Cons: Palpatine's return was not needed, the movie retcons too much stuff that happens in the other movies, Finn should have been given more character development, the new characters were unnecessary and for the most part had no development , and the reveal of Rey's parents was fine but the reveal kind came out of nowhere. Also some of the humor just fell flat and felt out of place. The movie has a lot have things going on at times and this can drag the movie on and make it feel rushed. Rise of Skywalker is a decent finale to the saga but has many flaws and it does its best to clean up the mistakes of The Last Jedi.
Gladiator
(2000)
We are entertained
24 November 2019
Gladiator is a dark and gripping action epic. Russel Crowe is great as the movie's protagonist. Joaquin Phoenix is great as the insane villain and is probably the best part of the whole movie. The action scenes are very thrilling and the direction is very good.
It
(I) (2017)
You will all float down here
31 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Though not horrifying IT(2017) exceeds in being a thrilling coming of age story mixed in with a evil entity that takes form of a Killer clown. The first is definitely terrifying and probably the best scene of the movie as Pennywise eats poor little Georgie. The kids in the movie are spectacular and definitely are the best part of the movie. There are some very scary scenes like the projector scene though some of the scares fall and some of effects are not very good. Finally Bill Skarsgard is a great Pennywise. He has very great performances that can be both terrifying and quirky at the same time. Just remember everyone that the sewers are a great place play in so you can float to🎈
The Godfather
(1972)
My favorite film of all time
22 October 2019
For me The Godfather is the best film. Everything from the music to acting and script are all perfect. The film has tons of amazing iconic lines and scenes and of course the character of Vito Corleone is amazing and Marlon Brando does an amazing job of playing him. Everything about the film is perfect.
Shazam!
(2019)
A whole lot of fun
28 July 2019
Shazam! is a very funny superhero movie about a teen boy being able to become an adult superhero. The film is also about family which the scenes with the foster family interacting with each other are some the most scenes in the movie. Zachary Levi is great at playing the hero Shazam and is great at being a man child. All the child actors were also good especially Jack Dylan Grazer who plays Freddie. The film is hilarious and is very similar to Big but with a superhero(which is not a bad thing). The action is very great and creative especially at the end and the scenes where they test Billy's powers are very fun and funny. The villain is meh. They explore his character pretty well in the beginning but when he becomes an actual super villain his character just becomes an other bad guy the main character has to defeat. Still Shazam is a very fun film and a step up for the DC Universe movies and as a Marvel fan I still recommend this film.
Spider-Man: Far from Home
(2019)
Great sequel
28 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Spider-Man: Far from Home is a fun and exiting superhero movie that is never boring and super funny. Peter and Mj's relationship in the film is great and Jake Gyllenhaal is great as the villain Mysterio though his motives are not very believable. The action as always is great and Tom Holland delivers us an other great performance in a great Spider-Man film.
Ready Player One
(2018)
A lot of fun but not as good as the book
28 July 2019
Ready Player One is a decent adaptation of a great book. It is fun to see all the pop culture references in this movie. The actors are all decent though there are no outstanding performances. The visuals are stunning but of coarse they are its Spielberg. The action is a whole lot of fun. The film is a dumbed down version of the book but its still a fun and exciting movie.
Thor: The Dark World
(2013)
The worst Marvel universe film but still ok
28 July 2019
Thor: The Dark World is a film with too many different tones and doesn't know what it wants to be. Some of the film is like Shakespeare is space (which in this movie it's not as cool as it sounds). Other parts of it want to be a buddy cop movie with Thor and Loki and these scenes are the best part of the movie. It also try's (but fails) to develop more of Thor and Jane's love story. The villain was very forgettable and boring and the plot is kind of like the plot from Transformers 3 (though its done much better in this movie). Still most of the action is enjoyable (other than the final battle) and like I mentioned before Thor and Loki's chemistry was great and saved the movie for me.
Venom
(2018)
A dumb but fun film
28 July 2019
Venom is a film that has many problems but is overall is a fun film. Tom hardy is good as Eddie Brock/Venom. Eddie's chemistry with Venom is very entertaining. The action is underwhelming but can be fun. The villain lacks clear motives and doesn't have any personality other then being evil. Also since the film had to be PG-13 the film has many scenes cut out of it and feels like a jumbled mess. But the film is still fun it just has many problems and also has a very confusing timeline. Still the Venom is entertaining enough that I was able to have a good time with it.
Avengers: Endgame
(2019)
The perfect ending
28 July 2019
This film is a very satisfying finale to 11 years of build up. The acting as always is amazing. The film as some great action sequences (especially the final fight). The film is able to combine the comedy that most of the other marvel universe films have and has very emotional drama. Overall Avengers:Endgame is a spectacular conclusion to the infinity saga that also has a lot of great fan service packed in to it and it does not drag even with a 3 hour runtime.
