The Other Zoey (2023)
Not a com and the rom is...meh
So Katherine Langford abd Archie Renaux dear the movie with their acting... Drew Starkey seems to be against them
The writing is not really good and the story is not interesting.
The first 10 minutes are a big cringe, then... I'm not sure if it gets better or if I just got used to it.
Zoey M is a nerd, which I am, but I don't think I would have ever got in such a mess as this. The girl, the boy, the other boy, the caring best friend... it's all quite formulaic.
The scientist who refuses to believe in love has a very predictable storyline and the jock who turns put to be cool, fun and smart, also predictable.
No surprises.
I did love the character Diego, though.
All of the above considered I still couldn't bring myself to stop watching it. Mind you, Archie Renaux is pretty cool in everything I've seen him.
Christmas on Mistletoe Farm (2022)
I expected...
I would have expected more of a British Christnas film... first if all... the birth of the kids was a joke... so badly made!!! The characters are impossible and not even a little bit believable. The bossnis detestable from.the get go. The mate is an idiot and the townsfolk are too fairy-tailish. The only characters I enjoyed were the children and the animals, they were a cuteness overload, although the children were overly childishly scripted. Then the ridiculousness of it, all exaggeratted to the point of not being able to stop watching it but shaking my head in disbelief during the whole thing!!!
Time Is Up (2021)
How do I unsee it
So cheesy and just plain bad. The story could have been written by a 12 year old and the low-budget feel of the whole thing was impossible to ignore. The acting was average ar most. I want mu time back, please!!
OXV: The Manual (2013)
What a surprise!!
At first, I wasn't sure what I was getting into. I even had a thought that I'd be switching it off quite soon. But 2 minutes into the film, I was mesmerised. The acting is outstanding, the concept and story are original, intelligent and graceful. It is believable in a dystopian manner. It is not a twisted, disaster idea where humanity has self-imposed, yes, they have found a way to control their humanity but no destruction or violence. It's a destined love story in a world ruled by physics and knowledge. Excellent. Truly and incredibly wonderful.
Outlander: Famous Last Words (2020)
Excellent episode
Richard Ranking did an incredible job playing a PTSD affected Roger. Both Roger and Ian have gone through hell and feel broken and unrecognisable. It takes them both to see each other to realise their own condition.
Those who say this episode was boring, must know nothing about PTSD and the story behind these books.
Richard Rankin deserves an award for his acting in this episode alone.
What a wonderful show, fantastic writing and perfect interpretation.
A Wrinkle in Time (2018)
No, no, no
I understand they tried to adapt to modern times, but the story got lost. There are missed scenes and the characters have lost their essence. Charles Wallace is supposed to be shy and Meg a kind of outsider (bullying is out if place) and mr and mrs Murray are meant to be the most charming, loving parebts with prodigious mind. I hated this Mrs Murray from scene 1. Not happy with this... oh, and Mrs Whatsit was meant to arrive looking like a homeless person, not like a woodland fairy... I have always loved A Wrinkle In Time... I detested this version!!!
Geostorm (2017)
It's entertaining with a nice cast
Yes, it's a bit cheesy, but Dean Devljn has proved he can do this. The script could use some adjustments and the CGI isn't perfect. But considering the cast and budget, I think t's a good effort. It's not reality, it's fiction, therefore there's a lot on inexact details when looked at it from a realistic angle. There are some continuity errors that could've been avoided, but nothing terrible . I have watched it in the cinema and at home, enjoying it every time.
Lethal Weapon: In the Same Boat (2018)
Ni, just no...
This show is based on the films...the films were Riggs and Murtaugh...without Riggs, the show is based on nothing...they should have changed the name of the show when they killed of Martin... make it a spin-off "Easy weapon" or something...
