Blue Ruin (2013)
Dumb "Jeff Bezos" goes on revenge trip
... and turns out that he had wrong information all the time therefore ends up killing the wrong person.
Boring movie and very over rated. Maybe a one time watch but don't expect too much.
Jagten (2012)
Completely unrealistic and downright stupid and rubbish
What the hell is going on in this movie?
The movie's foundation is based on such an unrealistic situation that probably will never happen in real life. It made me hate the child actor so much and then the stupid writers and director of the movie. I couldn't watch it any longer than 35 minutes. Its full of cringe, stupid people, unrealistic behaviours and is painfully slow. Mads is good no doubt, but that's about it. If there was some other lead in this movie, i think it wouldn't even have a rating of 5.
Avoid this one. Its extremely stupid and a time waste.
Underwater (2020)
Underwater? More like Underperformer.
I was pretty excited for this movie. Was waiting a long time to see it. But oh boy, was it a big let down!
The idea - very nice and good. But execution? Very poor. The set designs are mediocre. Film is irregularly pased. Sometimes its super fast and sometimes its so slow, you cant even tell that only 1 minute has passed. Creature design - super mediocre. I have seen better creature design in lower budget movies. The CGI is also very low class. Acting is, well - its got Kristen Stewart soo... Need i say more?
No good soundtrack, no good direction, plot holes, dumb characters with 0 backstory or relevance, no good acting, no good set or lighting, not even good color grading. No cinematography (something i personally really look for in a film). This movie's really got nothing that makes it stand out or memorable. The idea is itself a Frankenstein of ideas, comprised of parts taken from many different (read "better") movies and just put together.
Overall - a disappointment.
Gerald's Game (2017)
Tries to be many things at once but fails at being either one of them
This movie has a good cast and without a doubt, the acting is spot on and definitely praise-worthy. But where this movie movie fails is its trial of being many things at once. I know it is based on a Stephen King novel, but just because a novel carries the name of a world-wide best selling author doesn't means it is a guaranteed super-hit story. This movie tries to fit in a multitude of movie genres. It's got psychological horror. Then it's got supernatural horror. Then it's got crime involved. Then it tries to explore domestic abuse themes. Even then, it wants to come out as a movie with much deeper meaning. (I understand that all three main characters in the movie are suppose to be the personifications of the main character's anxiety, inner voice and fears/phobias.) But last of all - this movie is plain dumb and bad with a terrible terrible ending.
Although the plot and idea of the movie is indeed very unique and intriguing, but the story is a mis-match of lots of themes, while completely failing to be a "master" of any one of them. On top of that, there are just way too many plot holes and lame things in the movie to ignore.
This movie might appeal to people who seldom watch movies and decide to go for one on a weekend or once a month. But for people like me, who take their entertainment very seriously and who watch a movie almost everyday (have watched more than 3000 titles by now), this one fails to deliver and connect. It just goes straight to the "mediocre, forgetful and trashy" list.
Men in Black: International (2019)
So bad, I wanted to walk out at intermission
This movie might be one of the worst and most disappointing movies I have seen recently. It lacks pretty much every single thing that made the previous MIB movies fun to watch: action isn't good, no story, extremely bad casting, lame jokes (the stupid Marvel effect that destroyed pretty much every good franchise, including Predator) and no good characters.
Chris Hemsworth might be a good actor (not a fan personally), but he surely doesn't fit in this role. There is simply no charm as there was in Will Smith, Josh Brolin or Tommy Lee Jones. Liam Neeson is good, as always, but his role is equivalent to a spread-out cameo. Even worse is the casting of Tessa Thompson. Why the hell would anyone cast her into this role? I believe she isn't even a great actor anyways. On top of that, stupid feminist propaganda is shoved down our throats in this movie, disguised as lame jokes. The CGI is nothing special either. Cinematography is bad as is the soundtrack. Just because Chris worked great as Thor, doesn't means he is fit or he can simply just fit into the roles of three all-time great actors. For god's sake, MIB is a movie loved and cherished by millennials, so why not aim it at us, instead of aiming at the young (and dumb, no offense) generation that is today's.
All in all, there is nothing good about this film. I literally wanted to walk out mid-way through the film - it is that bad! Maybe some kids in their early teenage years might like it, that too if they haven't seen any of the previous movies.
It is a sequel nobody ever asked for, and least of all, expected. It's just another one of those cash grab stupid lame ass sequels which aim to ride, blatantly and shamelessly, on the success and name of their prequels. The film crew was just too cynical to pay attention to any part of the movie. It feels like a half-baked cake served with partially-whipped cream and topped with a dry cherry.
Don't Breathe (2016)
An old man of age 64 VS. 3 young adults with IQ 64 (combined)
3 young adults who are robbers, decide to rob an old man who is an army vet. He's blind alright? So these robbers go for robbing a couple hundred thousand dollars, which the old man keeps in his house in a safe that he bought online at Amazon (look it up... its the same safe) instead of depositing it in a bank like.. you know.. us poor people?? These robbers have robbed multiple homes before but with all the expertise they have, they bring in no bolt cutters or lock pickers or heck, simple screw drivers even (to unscrew the bolts on the lock pads people.. its simple.. really). instead the smartest one of all three brings a gun to "pop open the locks like a gangsta". unfortunately, for our tough guy, the only thing that pops properly is his head. once the smartest of the lot dies, the combined IQ of these 3 morons drops even below 64. so they dont decide to run or bash through the windows. or hit the old man with many many objects lying around them.
this is one of those movies with high rating but low material. no good story and no good dialogue. no good acting and even at just 1 hr 30 mins, i couldnt handle it totally. i left it at 50% approx. its so bad. there are movies like LOTR running at close to 4 hours which you can see without getting bored. and then there is this.
"don't breath"?? More like " don't watch"! haha
yup.. that joke was lame. just like the movie.
Altered (2006)
Pretty good
This movie exceeded my expectations. The special effects and creature design was also pretty impressive considering the budget. It's more of a cult classic film rather than a mainstream audience pleaser.
Overall, it is recommended to anyone looking to have a good watch for a casual night.
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011)
Tinker Tailor Sleeping Spy
Very confusing and extremely boring. The editing feels terrible and disjointed. Story is vague and you cannot connect to any character. No suspense, thrill, mystery or even proper drama. Acting is good by lead characters but the script and screenplay really ruins it all. The whole movie feels too stretched out and there are just too many "odd" names to follow. You easily lose track of all names and story many times throughout the film. The score is also very dull and evokes no emotion at anytime in the entire film. Too much switching into past and present which further adds up to confusion. I am giving a 2 only because of some very talented actors on board, otherwise this is probably a 1/10 movie.
You can easily skip your sleeping pills for a night and use this film instead.
Easily passable. Not recommended to even the most hardcore movie fanatics. Do not fall for the cast or false ratings and reviews and think of giving it a "try". I did the same (even though the name itself is so lame and sounds like a kid's movie at the first place) and was highly disappointed.
I Kill Giants (2017)
Extreme cringe
"We are hitting levels of cringe that shouldn't even be possible." - Neil Degrasse Tyson
This movie is seriously bad. Its way too overdramatic and the dialogues are extremely cringeworthy. Please do not watch this or else you will have to sleep with that feeling of a heavy chest. Out of cringe, that is.
I am giving 3 only because of two things:
1.) The CGI was okay. (even though there was very very little of it).
2.) The scene where Barbara gets punched by her bully. Because of the level of cringe that had developed inside me by that point of movie, that scene came like a big relief. I really wanted that to happen.
Do not watch.
