Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole (2010)
Beautiful, period.
There are no words as to describe this computer-animated fantasy film, it's simply amazing. First off, the animation is well done and beautiful. No wonder this took the production company so long to simply animate it after the release of Happy Feet!
Unlike any other modern animated films, the instrumental soundtrack (And Owl City's "To The Sky") is a delight to listen to and hear during the movie. The voice acting was also well done. I'd never heard of the actors until I first saw the movie on DVD.
What made this film (And Happy Feet) so touching to me, though, was in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy. It allowed me(I was 12 years old at the time) to leave the horrors of the storm and be enthralled by the fantasy elements and animation done by Animal Logic.
Overall, the soundtrack, the animation, and the emotional attachment it left me during the storm, makes this film a great excuse to leave the horrors of a hurricane and any other storm that can strike New Jersey and feel like you're with the guardian owls.
Roadside Romeo (2008)
Somewhat good; It has some bland comedy but has some catchy songs.
I've only heard of this film 8 months ago, but that didn't stop me from watching it on the internet. After getting to watch it all the way, I think that it's decent for a Hindi animated film distributed by Disney, even if I can't understand half of what they're saying.
I understand that it's intended to be a comedy film, but some of it was either confusing because of the Hindi dialogue, or wasn't funny at all. The songs, because it's also a musical, and in contrast to the comedy, are fantastic. The first and second songs on the soundtrack have been stuck in my head for a couple days now; The soundtrack is simply that fantastic.
I would want to recommend the film, but somewhat terrible comedy, predictable story, and confusing dialogue makes such a decent film slightly not worth it to watch, but the great soundtrack makes for a great time with Romeo and his friends.
Cube Zero (2004)
It's not terrible, but it's just so fascinating!
I've heard of the Cube series, but my interest in the series started with Cube Zero. I don't know; Something about it makes it so fascinating and it's hard to describe that without spoiling the movie to people who hadn't watched it yet.
When I first stumbled upon this film, and then looked it up on this site, it was pretty clear that most people did not like this movie. So, after getting the chance to watch it on the internet (Because of the rating it received, I couldn't buy it,) and I have to say, it was actually a nice prequel to Cube, apart from the less than two hour time run and some of the traps involved.
The premise of Cube Zero sounds very similar to the first Saw movie and all of it's sequels. For example, the facts of people waking up in a strange room, with no recollection of how they even got there, or why they're in there, and the threat of certain death, is there in both series.
In order to get a clear understanding of Cube Zero, I recommend looking up and/or watching the first movie, like I did when I first heard of the series, back in early 2012. For me, I would definitely recommend it, because of the mystery that surrounds the Cube and it's victims makes it so worth it to watch.
