Small Group (2018)
Unfortunately it Rambled around too much, too jumpy.
Let's start out by saying "Small Group" was rated very high, 100 on another site, and 6.8 on IMDB.
We've enjoyed many Christian based movies and this was a struggle to watch. The movie didn't flow smoothly at all.
In fact it was difficult to sit thru the whole thing.
I felt like the director knew how he wanted to start and end the story but had not figured out how to bring it all together.
My wife and I have been in many small faith sharing groups. In no way did this resemble any group we've ever been in.
The creator of the story had to create such unrealistic situations so that there would be a story.
Even the boss's attitude was so far fetched that it was completely unbelievable.
It's such a shame because the theme was good but incorporating the theme was a disaster.
Testament: The Parables Retold (2022)
Boring and confusing.
Yes, I realize that they were taking the New Testament and placing the actions in some utopian time.
I can't even figure out what was the purpose for making this movie.
It basically is showing how Luke was gathering all his information for his gospel.
Luke's role could have been more of the center and stronger character, for instance, acting more like an inquisitive reporter trying to pull a good story together.
It seemed rather choppy, with the scenes jumping around quite a bit. I know that to pull it together so that it would flow smoothly would require adding much content that is not within the Bible, I'm sure that most people viewing this video are regular readers of the Bible.
The director was trying very hard to include interesting moments, but for me it did not flow very smoothly. I was constantly thinking "where are they going with this?".
For me, the best part was that it finally ended.
Sorry about that, but I feel I wasted two hours.
Was it entertaining? No!
Was it informative? No!
Did it I make ny faith stronger? No!
Did I feel that it showed how the apostles would have felt and acted in today's world? I just couldn't grab that concept either.
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
When does it get good?
We watched about 30 minutes of this movie, just waiting for it to get better. It never happened. Maybe it's one of those movies that you have to painfully watch till it finally becomes a great movie.
Maybe the younger generation enjoys it, but from the first 30 minutes, it definitely does not appear to be worth watching.
Even when English is spoken it is not very clear.
So much foreign language is bothersome.
The filming does not seem to be up to current day standards.
Oh, so very disappointing!
I wish I could have enjoyed watching this movie as much as some of the reviewers did.
It's like I'm thinking to myself "What element of enjoyment am I missing from this movie"?
