Better than the book
5 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
It's extremely rare that as a devoted book reader I ever think that a movie is better than the book that inspired it, however this is one of the extremely rare instances where the movie is better than the book. Anne hathaway plays a much more likable and vulnerable Solene than the character in the book. She adds a sweetness and likability to Solene that I felt was missing in the books. I do like that they aged her daughter up a bit more, and Solene seemed to actually like her daughter more in the movie than the book. The movie did focus more on the music, mostly because I feel the author didn't know how to write a music performance. Also, the ending, so much more fulfilling in the movie than the book.

Great music and nice surprise
21 December 2023
I was a little unsure how cheesy this would be, but I saw a clip of Antonio Baneres singing his song and wanted to watch. I was really surprised how much I liked it! The songs were good, seeing Joel Smallbone was a great surprise, I love For King and Country. Is the story embellished ,yes, especially the Mary and Joseph part but I didn't mind that, I liked the actors so I was okay with the story liberties there. Baneras was so great - he has such a great singing voice - and the three Wise men were entertaining. Overall I really liked it and can see this becoming part of the annual Christmas movie rotation.

Lovely bookend to a great series
9 September 2023
I say bookend, but they definitely left Robert in a place where if he's needed in the future he can step up again. This was a story with the action we desire and the story we want. We see Robert a bit more tired, a bit more desiring peace, but still willing to step in and save when circumstances require him to. I do think I would have loved a tad more action, I do love seeing Denzel dish out the pain, but there was enough where we are satisfied. The part I really like though is when you think about the lonely life he lived in movie 1, and you see where he ends up and what he is surrounded by in movie 3, you're happy for our hero.

Finally seeing Alfred's dream come true
16 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I was a bit nervous after reading reviews ,you either love it or hate it. Do I wish it was longer - of course! This plot could have been its own season but sadly Netflix wouldn't give us that. It was fast paced but exciting, lots of twists and turns and Uhtred was faced with many struggles. However the ending gave us finally what we saw Alfred and Edward reach for for 5 seasons, England. I think it was a fitting last story for Uhtred. SPOILER The ending scene was a great treat for fans, and yes there were ppl missing like Ragnar, (and part of me would have loved to see Christians and Danes in eternity together, can you imagine Queen Aelswith sitting next to Brida in eternity) but it was nice to see the Valhalla Uhtred believed in. As a bug fan, I liked it and was thankful we got one last adventure with Uhtred.

Fantastic!!
28 December 2022
At this point I think we ask can Taylor Sheridan do any wrong? This is a beautiful and heartbreaking story that shows the tough and devastating road the Dutton family took to find Yellowstone. The history makes the current journey of John Dutton even more meaningful as we see what it cost his family to create his home. Every actor was brilliant and Isabel May was phenomenal. You can see why Beth is who she is if she shares even a distant small drop of blood with Elsa. Tim and Faith also did such an amazing job in their roles and it was easy to forget who they are today and see them as the tough, loving and strong couple that brought the Duttons to Montana.

Very interesting expose on a MLM/pyramid company. Feel so bad for the women I know who got into this and lost so much.
