The Gentlemen (2019)

Watch this for a few minutes of Colin Farrell

Classic Guy Ritchie movie. Never a dull moment. Slowly eases into the story and takes it to great Crescendo. The plot twists at every turn with few loyalties kept intact all along the movie.

Colin Farrell steals the show. He is the surprise of the movie. Has a role lasting only a few minutes, but outshines entire cast single-handedly.

Matthew Mcconnaughey and Charlie Hunnam give their usual best and look awesome doing so. Hugh Grant exposes new part of his acting repertoire.

Part of the movie is shot in our Arsenal stadium. Special brownie points for that.

Watch it for classic Guy Ritchie stuff.

Pathaan (2023)

Pathetic plot indeed..

The filmmakers take the audience as numbwits or what.

In this day and age, with really good series to be seen on prime & netflix this film falls short on every aspect.

Every action scene lifted from Mission Impossible, Expendables, Bourne Series etc.. Most humorless senseless cheesy one liners.. Looks like the whole writing team went on a vacation.

Looks like Yash Raj films are trying to plan a spy universe like avengers. In that case they need to really up their game with regards to story writing.

Shahrukh & Deepika magic works to the core and thats what probably saved the movie.

Stumbled upon this movie backtracking Liam Neeson movies. Frances McDormand & Sam Raimi upped my hopes.

Otherwise an average movie of the 90s, I found these 2 absolute steals by the Mission Impossible franchise from this 1990 movie:

1. The hooking of helicopter so that it crashes - MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 1

2. The henchman kills his own mate thinking it to be the hero but its actually his mate who is taped behind the hero's mask - MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 2

Srinivasa Ramanujan is a legendary name in India. But the nuances and the struggles were unknown to most of us. And it is beautifully filmed & performed by all.

Didn't expect much despite Brad Pitt (on the contrary, it was the reason I watched it).

I have kind of become numb for the patriotism, heroism shown in these Eastwood-Spielberg esque type movies.

30 mins into the movie, the sharp script slaps u awake. The cynicism, the fiended bravery, white house politics, the presidential insignificance(both US & Afghan) etc all woven into one of the most intriguing cinematic experience. The story drags a bit in the middle but nevertheless a BRAVO effort.

Brad Pitt is mind blowing. Did he just give his best performance.

DONT MISS THIS GUYS.
