Good Behavior (2016)
Got Derivative in Second Season
While I can understand why people were upset the show was canceled, the second season was derivative of itself. The first season was better than the second and felt more new.
The second season was the same thing over and over. Letty was being dumb, Javier couldn't see how dumb Letty was being until it was too late, and then there was some situation they needed to get out of due to Letty. It reminded me of Outlander and how Claire always made it difficult for Jamie.
I do have to say though the last episode of the second season was left on a bit of a cliffhanger. They were good at doing that. Seemed like most episodes were left on cliffhangers, making you want more, but then each episode seemed familiar.
The Batman (2022)
Could Be Better
Overall, this was a good take on Batman. I liked the story, characters, and action. What I didn't like was the length of the movie and how slow it progressed. This easily could have been 45-60 minutes shorter and still have the same message and character progression. Personally, I wouldn't buy this movie since the slow progression doesn't lend the movie enough rewatchability.
Kimi (2022)
Started Out Good
This movie started out pretty good. Had some mystery and was intense. Once you get about halfway in, it starts go down hill. It becomes just a cat and mouse chase with a stupid ending. Her weapon of choice is idiotic too as they don't work that way. I felt like I wasted my time with this one. Definitely not worth renting or buying.
How I Met Your Father (2022)
Holy Wokeness
Yeah. Forced myself to watch the first two episodes and it was bad. Bad setups for jokes, trying WAY to hard to pander to feminist women, and a cast that sucks at acting for the most part. Why try to make a spin off of a show that did a good job? Leave it be.
Don't Look Up (2021)
Speaks Volumes
This was a funny, yet depressing, movie. Anyone who has been questioning their sanity in the last two years should give this movie a chance. While it's not the same topic as the current political strife, it makes many parallels to what people are thinking and saying.
As much as I liked the movie, it made me depressed. It made me think about how much our own world, and economy, is being ruined for the sake of making rich people more rich.
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (2021)
Great Movie. Could Have Been Better
Overall, great movie and the best to date for any movie with Resident Evil in the title. My critique will be as someone who loved the games, not as someone who loved the previous movies.
Spoilers ahead....
What they could have done better:
1. They took a lot of liberties with the timeline. They introduced the majority of the characters from the first and second game within the first 30 minutes of the movie. The helicopter flew into the mansion WAY too early.
2. They made Leon out to be a bumbling idiot. He was one of the main characters in the second game and kicked ass. I was disappointed by how they portrayed him. They also made Claire into somewhat of a Mary Sue, which was disappointing. She was also a badass in the video game on her own. She didn't need to be Leon's savior all the time.
3. They took too long getting to the mansion, too much back story in those characters.
4. Too many zombies sometimes. Even the game made it somewhat realistic with how many would attack you at once. Not horrible, but could have been better.
What they did well:
1. The mansion and police station look fantastic. They used a lot of shadows, and sometimes looked like CGI, but it looked so good overall. I was impressed on how true this was to the game.
2. We got a little backstory to the semi on fire in front of the police station. It wasn't needed, but was kind of cool.
3. They even had some puzzles. Wesker had to play moonlight sonata to access a part of the mansion. Granted, he had a palm pilot helping direct him, but hey, they got some of it right.
