What a piece of crap
12 August 2022
Let's just be clear- I don't hate this movie because it's all women- I hate this movie because it's an insult to Ghostbusters. Melissa MacCarthy is NOT funny at all. One scene that makes my skin crawl is basically any moment with that black lady (no, I'm not racist I just can't remember her name) she is so loud and obnoxious. This is a terrible attempt at rebooting Ghostbusters for a modern audience. Stick to parts 1, 2 and Afterlife and disregard this crap.

Meh

Beavis and Butthead Do America was a great movie, and naturally we're all going to compare them. I wanted to really like this movie, but after seeing the failed attempt at restarting the tv show in 2011 there didn't seem like there was much hope for this duo. Beavis and Butthead Do The Universe has a few laughs here and there but overall it's a letdown.

Child's Play (2019)

Shouldn't be called Child's Play
14 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
They used the name to sell movie tickets. The only thing related to the old horror movie franchise is the name "Chucky" and the title "Child's Play." This movie has nothing to do with story of the original movies. In the original storyline the movies are about a serial killer named Charles Lee Ray who has his soul stuck in a Good Guys doll and he murders people.

In this "remake" (more like a "ripoff") there is a robot toy called Buddi (not Good Guys) that has a malfunctioned computer chip in it. He goes by the name Chucky and kills people and is basically all that is similar. There is no Charles Lee Ray. If this was just a random killer toy doll movie not called Child's Play then I might have appreciated it more but the fact they just ripped off the name to sell tickets pisses me off.

Wasn't the epic conclusion they hyped it up to be
10 June 2022
I love the original movie, and I thought The Lost World was a great sequel. While Jurassic Park 3 certainly has its flaws, it still felt like a "Jurassic Park" movie to me. I grew up watching these movies.

Let's go back to the year 2015, after 14 years of rumors of another JP movie with the most bizarre concepts (Google them, they're out there) being tossed around, they finally landed on Jurassic World. I couldn't believe they finally figured out a script and production had actually happened. The movie was done. Finally!

Well, after waiting all those years I went to see Jurassic World opening night, I couldn't have been more excited to finally see it. Was it good? Eh. There some moments that were good, but the overuse of CGI watered it down. Training raptors to follow commands? What happened to the blood thirsty raptors from the first 2 movies? Now they take orders from humans?

Then we have Fallen Kinngdom. I really enjoyed the tension of the opening scene. The flash of lightning that shows Rexy sneak up behind the guy trying to close the gates was chilling. I thought I was in for a treat. Goldblum is wasted in a 4 minute scene... It turned into some convoluted hybrid mess with a terrible subplot to set up for Dominion.

Now, we finally get this supposed "epic conclusion" to the franchise that brings back Grant, Sattler and Malcom combined with our new "heroes" and it all sounds good on paper. What we have instead is a giant mess of way too many CGI dinosaur action sequences. I thought Owen riding along side the raptors in the first World movie was bad.... Jeez. There are no great or epic moments, hardly any tension., it's just a bunch of computer animated dinosaurs thrown together on screen just for the sake of it. Unfortunately these movies get worse with each entry, and this is no exception. While we do get a couple nods and homages to the original movie, it just felt forced. Nothing about this movie felt genuine. Even the actors from the original trilogy felt like they were just bored.... And how many times are we going to have raptors encounter people just to have them stop immediately cause they someone put their hand up in front of them.

I don't know, go see the movie for yourself, but don't expect any of the magic or charisma that first trilogy brought to the table. What we have is another watered down, CGI fest with no real emotion or thought put behind it. It just felt really stale. Fell flat on its face.

Gets way too much hate
25 May 2022
I saw this in theaters and I loved it. The first movie was hilarious and this is a great sequel. I think this is even more raunchy than the first one. Don't listen to all the negative reviews, go out and see this for yourself. If you like the first movie you will enjoy this. Highly recommended! Very funny movie.

One of the best films of all time
22 May 2022
This is the movie responsible for creating the word "blockbuster" because when this came out people were lining up around the block to see it. Literally. Don't believe me? Google it. Oh yeah, it was also the first movie to make over $100,000 domestically at the box office.

This has been in my top 5 favorite movies of all time ever since I saw it as a child. It has everything you need! The acting, the direction, the dialogue. There isn't anything in this movie that I can point out as a flaw. I don't want to go into much detail about the plot because I'm sure there are some people who still haven't seen it, but, it's a movie based on a #1 selling novel by author Peter Benchley about a great white shark that terrorizes a small community on an island in New England. If you have not seen this movie, you NEED to go see it. This movie kept people out of the ocean for years and years when it first came out.

I wanted to like this so much...
22 May 2022
I was so excited when I first learned they were making a sequel to Joe Dirt. The first movie is such a classic David Spade comedy, certainly one of his best movies and very quotable. This sequel is an uninspired, lackluster, boring, cheap cash grab which just recycles most of the jokes from the first movie but does it worse. I can't remember laughing out loud once during this movie. I think I might have smiled or chuckled once or twice... the first movie had laughing out loud most of the runtime of the movie- this sequel is the example of a cash grab- avoid at all costs.

Uncharted (2022)
4/10
Meh
18 May 2022
Pretty lackluster and underwhelming movie- especially for a movie based on one of the greatest adventure video game series of all time. I love all 4 of the Uncharted games (didn't care for that half-ass spin-off game.. can't even remember the title of it) This movie was in development hell for awhile and took years to finally get off the ground. So, after all that time of working to get a movie made this is what we get? Mark Wahlberg is a good actor, don't get me wrong, I like many of his movies, but he is no Sully.... And I didn't want a movie with a teenage Nathan Drake. This movie doesn't follow any story from any of the games and literally only has one small sequence that is taken from the games (the scene from Uncharted 3 with the airplane and the cargo crates coming out of the back of it in mid air- except it's not even adult Nathan Drake). Mark Walhburg is terribly casted as Sully- he doesn't look or act like him at all- they couldn't even give him signature mustache! Tom Holland is miscast as Nathan Drake. Also, no one wants an origin story- we want adult Nathan Drake exploring jungles and hunting treasure like a junior Indiana Jones.

All in all, this is not a movie for the fans of the video games and I wasn't very happy with it. Maybe if you're an average movie-goer you may enjoy it. However, I am a very big fan of the games and I have to say that I was pretty disappointed. Aside from that small cameo by the voice actor of Nathan Drake from the games, this movie left me pretty disappointed. I wouldn't waste your time, just play the games, they provide a much better cinematic experience anyway. If you combined all the cut scenes from the games into a movie you'd have a proper Uncharted film.

Couldn't even finish it
7 May 2022
I got about 20 minutes before I pulled the plug. There are funny spoof movies out there, like Scary Movie, Naked Gun... and then there's this movie. While it is aesthetically done well, the jokes are lame. There is no real LOL moment. The Hangover was a great comedy. This is just riding on the success of the movie it's spoofing.

Mortal Kombat (2021)

Thoroughly enjoyed it
27 March 2022
I grew up playing these games, and while I didn't care for the Mortal Kombat movies from the 90's. This new adaptation was very well done and wasn't campy or cheesy like the other previous movies. This movie is incredibly violent (much like the video games) so beware if you are planning on letting your children watch it.

Meh. Not bad
24 February 2022
I've been a big fan of the tv show, and I thoroughly enjoyed the "Reno 911: Miami" movie. This new movie was decent. It wasn't as bad as all the reviews make you think. There are lots of laughs to be had. The OG cast returns in this new movie. There's plenty of toilet humor, dumb jokes, etc. Overall I would say if you like Reno 911 you will have a good time.

Jurassic Park (1993)

Groundbreaking.
23 February 2022
I don't even know where to begin.... I was born in 1987 and I can still remember seeing this movie opening weekend with my family at the drive in when I was 6 years old. Jurassic Park is probably one of my top 3 favorite movies of all time- so, nostalgia aside, this movie is a landmark in cinematic history. I could write an essay on how much I love this film all day long and it would take you 12 hours just to read the whole thing.... Bottom line is, this is THE movie of all movies.

A+

Why the hate?
7 February 2022
It wasn't a perfect film, who cares? People complain and bitch about this movie so much! It was a fun, popcorn eating, enjoyable ride from start to finish. I could defend this movie all day long but for some reason no one seems to care and just hates it. Just leave your brain at the door and sit back and have some laughs.

Loved this movie
30 November 2021
This movie is not perfect, yes it does cram 2 games into a single movie, but it does a lot of things right. Overall, it's a breath of fresh of air after those other Milla Jovovoovovovich piece of crap movies. Who the hell is Alice and why was she the main star of all those awful movies? Welcome to Raccoon City has great atmosphere and actually has a horror movie tone, unlike those Milla movies which feel like over the top Michael Bay crap. What's the deal with Alice constantly doing backflips, running down the sides of buildings, or kicking dogs through the air in slow motion? Literally the only thing those movies got right was Nemesis the look of some of the characters (Jill, Claire and Wesker), but the movies are crap, do not feel like the games at all and follow none of the game's story. Welcome to Racccoon City combines the first 2 video games and jumps back and forth between them throughout the movie. If I had any complaints it's that Leon was underused and the look of him and Jill were not very good. Also, I do wish they would have not used the "f word" so much. Don't get me wrong, I don't care if a movie has curse words in it, but it felt like every other piece of dialogue had the f bomb in it for no reason. I saw this in theaters and bought the blu-ray. I think I've seen this like 25 times now, I enjoy it so much. Give it a chance!

One of the worst movies ever made
24 August 2021
This movie was painful. It was worse than a day at the dentist. I usually really like Adam Sandler, he has some very funny movies (i.e. The Waterboy, Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy, That's My Boy, The Wedding Singer) but this movie made me want to rip my eyes and ears out of my head. There is nothing funny about Adam Sandler playing a woman- it is the definition of obnoxious. Do not waste your time with this abomination. You would be better off smashing your face into a brick wall over and over.

Loved it!
16 June 2020
I love all the Jay and Silent Bob movies. Clerks 2, Mallrats and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back have always been my top 3 favorites. However after seeing this new movie I might have to replace Mallrats with it in my top 3. This movie is a love letter to all the previous movies with so many references and inside jokes. It's a shame it didn't get a real nationwide theatrical release so I wasn't able to watch it until the DVD was released and I bought it day one without even seeing it yet. I must say, I loved it from beginning to end. While it is basically loosely based on the same premise of Strike Back, it still feels fresh and it is definitely hilarious! If you're a fan of Kevin Smith and these movies I suggest you get this immediately!

Workaholics (2011–2017)
9/10
This show is hilarious
30 March 2020
I don't write many reviews on IMDb but I thought I'd give my 2 cents on Workaholics. I'd always known about this show and seen commercials for it on Comedy Central but I never actually sat down and watched it. That was until several years ago while flying across country and having nothing to do on the airplane... they had basic cable for everyone with little televisions in front of each passengers seat, so needless to say the only thing to do to kill time was find something on cable. I switched to Comedy Central and noticed that Workaholics was playing a marathon of episodes so I decided to give it a shot. I was hooked within the first couple episodes! I'll admit the humor is kind of juvenile but it's also pretty clever and very, very funny. I love the countless references they make. The show is about 3 telemarketers (Anders, Blake and Adam) who all live and work together in California. They are stoners, slackers, alcoholics and most importantly very funny! If you haven't seen this show yet it is currently streaming all seasons on Hulu right now (March 30th, 2020) so get on there and binge watch while you still can! Highly recommended. I don't watch many tv shows or sitcoms so for me to be such a huge fan definitely says a lot. Two thumbs way up!!

Better than the original!!
17 October 2019
I was kind of skeptical when I first heard they were making this sequel, and then the trailers came out and I still was not 100% sold on seeing it. I really enjoyed the first movie and it's up there with Shaun of the Dead as far as great zombie/comedies go. I decided to give this sequel a chance and I was glad I did! I was hooked within the first 10 minutes, it's a LOT funnier than the original and has a lot more zombie violence! Definitely recommended for fans of the original Zombieland.

Not nearly as great as the first movie.
21 February 2015
I thoroughly enjoyed the first movie. This movie was not nearly as funny. There were some laughs here and there but the movie mostly fell flat on it's face. If you loved the first movie as much as I did and was excited as I was to hear there was a sequel, I wouldn't recommend wasting your time seeing this in theaters; if anything you should wait for the Redbox. The first movie is hilarious, but like I said this one just doesn't live up to it. I think one of the things this movie needed was John Cusack, and I don't understand why decided not to return, maybe it was because of the lackluster script? The jokes were just not as good in this movie, but the first movie had me in stitches from laughter pretty much from the very beginning to the end. This movie only made me chuckle and laugh a few times.

Incredible sequel
12 July 2012
This movie is near flawless. Honestly, if you enjoyed Jurassic Park and you haven't seen this yet, do not listen to any of the haters. I've been an incredibly avid fan of all things dinosaurs since I was a kid. I remember seeing the first JP movie at the drive in when I was 6, and was blown away by it. I saw this one in theaters opening weekend, and part 3 in theaters opening weekend as well. The third movie doesn't even hold a candle to the first two. This movie, although not as perfect as part one, is still an incredible film. Blended with some comedy, this is an action packed dinosaur thrill ride! Plenty of T-Rex moments and great finale. Two thumbs up.

Very funny. I liked it more than Borat.
14 June 2012
I don't know what it is about Sacha Baren Cohen, but this man is freaking hilarious! He's so good at what he does. He gets this joy out of messing with strangers and celebrities. When Borat came along in 2006 it was a smash hit. I didn't end up finally watching it until it was out on DVD, but I loved it. I love he awkward he makes situations for random strangers. Then 2009 came out around, and I went to the movies with my sister for her birthday to see The Proposal with Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock and I remember seeing the "Now Playing" poster for Bruno with the tagline saying "Borat.. that was so 2006" I remember thinking to myself, "Man. I gotta see this." I never did see it in theaters.. So the DVD finally came out and checked it out. Days later I went to the store and actually purchased it because I found it so laugh out loud hilarious. There are so many scenes that make you go, "WTF??" (One scene in particular involves Bruno and his lover in a hotel room doing unspeakable things with each other, one of them has Bruno pouring a bottle of wine out his lover's anus into a wine glass.) If you are faint of heart, or Borat didn't make you laugh then I suggest you don't watch this. However, if you are like me and aren't easily offended or find gay jokes funny then check this out. The humor is raunchy and some could argue that it's really immature, but I disagree, I think it's cleverly done and genius. Bruno is funnier than Borat. (I give Borat a 7/10 and Bruno an 8/10)

Bad attempt at a horror/comedy
5 June 2012
While I thoroughly enjoyed the 2010 remake of Piranha directed by Alex Aja, this 2012 sequel was just plain awful. It tried too hard to be comical while still trying to be a horror movie. The acting is awful, the story is a rehash of the first movie except now it's in a waterpark, and we only get a water park attack during the last ten minutes or so of the movie. Oh yeah, did I mention that this movie is only an hour and ten minutes long with an extra ten minutes of credits/bloopers?? Do not waste your time with this movie. The only positive thing about this movie is that the fish themselves look a lot more realistic than the first movie and they don't rely heavily on CGI this time around. Other than that, this movie is pretty awful. There's barely any gore in it, and with a movie called Piranha there should be gratuitous amounts of blood (which is what made the first one so entertaining) I mean come on, I'm not watching this movie for the ground breaking acting or anything here, I just want gore. Stick to the 2010 movie.

Jason is back, and better than ever!!!
25 December 2011
This movie was fantastic. I first saw it during it's midnight screening the night before it was released, and once again during opening night. (Both times the theater was packed to the brim.) This was a great movie to watch with a sold out theater, because everyone jumps and screams at all the right parts. As a huge, HUGE Friday the 13th fan, I was so excited when I first heard about this being released. I like all the Platinum Dunes movies (except The Unborn and Amityville Horror) and I couldn't wait to see what they were going to bring to the table. They hired the director from their Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake to helm this movie. Everything about this movie is awesome. The best part is the intro (the longest opening to a movie) where the name "FRIDAY THE 13th" doesn't even appear for about 20 minutes. The opening will surely have you on the edge of your seat! (I know I was!) I've seen every Friday the 13th movie, and I own them all on DVD. (Even the really bad ones like Jason Goes To Hell and Jason X.) I would definitely put this remake in my top 3 of my favorite Friday the 13th movies, along with part 2 and part 4. They really hit the nail on the head with this one, everything about it is fantastically well made. If you like Jason, or even if you don't and you just enjoy a good horror movie, please go buy this movie because you will definitely enjoy adding it to your DVD or Blu Ray collection. Long live Jason Voorhees!!

King Kong (2005)

Amazing.
26 January 2006
Quite possibly one of the greatest movies to come out in the past decade. Not since Jurassic Park have I been so stunned by a movie, I mean, this film is a masterpiece. I can't wait until the DVD comes out, I will be buying it for sure. Peter Jackson should get many, many awards for this movie. It doesn't even feel like 3 hours long either, it goes by so quickly with it's non-stop action. Also filled with emotions, this movie could quite possibly have you crying at the end, regardless of whether you've already seen the original or not. You really feel for Kong in this movie, he displays such real emotions, thanks to Andy Serkis for that. If you haven't seen this movie, I highly recommend you check it out, if you want to be blown away.
