Against all the bad critics it was FUN to watch
2 January 2023
First I read and heard many bad critics about this movie and so I started to watch it with a low expecting outcome, but I just loved it all the way from the beginning to the end. Finally a movie that combines all the crap that happened in the year 2020-2021 in a very truth and cynical way with a nice - not extreme, but still very good - script. The actors were all exactly what you expect of them, each had their part and those were all very good. - At the end I was very delightful entertained and against all the bad critics - which I can see exactly from what people wrote those - I must say this is a good movie.

a wannabe elite soldier plays a private war.

Bad, bad, bad, pretty much everything that you can and may do in such a genre is wrong. At first I thought, Great, now there is finally a counterpart to the SEAL Team series, but I had my doubts from the first few minutes. You feel like something just doesn't fit. Later you realize that everything is just so unreal that you should actually count this series among the fantasy genres.

In reality, the special OPS,SEAL,NAVY, etc guys are a far from what is portrayed here in ECHO. The real guys have problems ranging from PTS, mental and psychological problems to physical problems. None of the "real" guys come from a rich background. That doesn't fit. Not at all. Here,is a wannabe elite soldier plays a private war. That's kind of stupid and, as I said, has nothing to do with reality at all, so the whole series is a bunch of nonsense and not recommended at all.

EXCELLENT MOVIE - SHOW!!!
6 March 2018
This is by far one of the best series I have watched the last 2 years. Although it is a real western movie, it has a lot of the modern filmmakings, like Vikings, Game of thrones in common, only on an other base.

The screenwriting is excellent, the actors are great, and the story is built up step by step. Sometimes it is slow, but those parts needed to be slow, it's also a kind of effect, what a real western has.

Useless to say, that the final part is the peak of the story.

This is an excellent movie for people who want to see a classic western movie, but with modern themes, like music, screen shoots, and excellent actors.

Promising, has potential, but still early to say to be good.
16 November 2016
This seems to be promising. A little of "the contractor, with Wesley Snipes", a bit of "murder at 1600", and other similar movies have been set on the stage, but nevertheless this is now a series, a TV show and it can go into a interesting direction. Although it is hard to say after the first plot, how it really will end up. Anyhow, I will wait for the next show and see if it is worthy my higher scores. One at last, there are a view top shows out there, meaning top writing, acting, scenery, music, etc. (some like Banshee, although it might be not everybody's genre), anyway, this first show is a little poor on these parts, but as I said it has the potential to become much better. We will see.

I should have left this out

When you watch a movie, when you go into a cinema or search, download, buy any movie, than you are looking for a certain kind of movie a certain genre at that moment, at that time. When you see title that comes along with any associations of a horror movie than you don't expect a comedy, unless it is a parody or so. But you can read that in a preview or see that from many small parts, like commercial, posters, etc. Here in this movie, I still don't know what I have watched. It wasn't a real sci-fi, it wasn't a horror and it was not a combat/war movie. It is more or less a try to put a war conflict situation combined with a sci-fi background and a today's Afghanistan war, culture etc. Conflict, into a movie. A try to show a social conflict but there are so many way better movie like this on the market out there. The movie has no beginning and no end. The only credits I can give for this movie is the making. The scenes are good, the clothing, wearing's, the monsters (those few which actually have not a big part in this movie at all). So at the end this is a complete waste of time and if you don't want to spent time after seeing the movie to think about all the little, stupid and no logical scenes and parts of the movie and shaking your head, whenever you think back of it, then do something better with your time.

Great show
13 December 2014
Great actor, great show. It's not a typical "Homeland", "24" or "strike back" neither a "House of cards". Or other white House stories. More or less it is the first time that a strong, leading personality in this case a woman is the secretary of the white house, who is not also dealing with the normal political affairs, but since she was trained as a Spy at the CIA, she has extraordinary abilities as well. It's very authentic if you look at other political leaders in the world who have very powerful positions and have been former members of any secret service. And then there is the Family part. The Husband, an ex military air-force pilot who works as a religion professor at the university. And at last, the family stuff to handle with 3 kids. The script is OK in this part, but could be better. The typical "you are not allowed to share your work with your family" stuff, but yet still have to deal with the day by day normal personal and family business and it's problems It's really quite a show.

A MUST TO SEE, also for NONE science fiction fans.

Luc Besson... EXCELLENT !!! The story (WOW !!!) Since a kid I always asked myself what we could or would do if we could use our brain for only 50 or 80%... NOW I got an excellent directed alternative answer. Of course it is science fiction, but in a wonderful way. The Movie starts with a very good mix of music, the comparisons with the reality (in the movie) and the different scene with the animals, the parallel Morgan Freeman storyteller, of course the actors, and one of the most important things, that I was so fascinated of the whole movie, all the time, that I didn't think of anything else. Thats what a great movie is all about, to relax, to give you something to thing and forget for a little while your daily business. A MUST TO SEE, also for NONE science fiction fans.

excellent series
26 February 2014
I started to watch this series by accident, the first season was not even as good as I hoped, but then season 2,3 and 4 were one of the best series I watched! Especially the two actors Philippe Winchester and Sullivan Stapleton are naturally, funny and the two characters work extremely well together. I really hope that there will be a next season 5 . These two characters could even go for a movie in the theaters. The script is well written, the locations are good, I particularly like that in each location they choose people, staff, directors at the scene and location of each country. My guess that is also a key for the success of the series, because it makes the locations and everything around much more truthfully. I worked in 28 countries and I know how important the details are. I hope the producers will also see this and get on with the next season! congratulations !
