Awe! (2018)
An Emotional Journey
This is one of the fresh and gripping movies you see which pops out of nowhere. Sometimes such movies take you by surprise not just for their presentation or work by the entire team but the fact that someone came forward and took that step to make such a different approach movie.
Ok, leaving aside whether it is not readily comprehensible by the audience the direction, screenplay, photography, music, dialogues and the underlying message etc all have struck top notch. Wonderful to see all the crew's talent on screen. This is a symbol of their craftsmanship.
Along with that start studded cast adds to the movie strengths. Probably it is not very often one can come along such characters to portray in their acting careers. Kudos to the entire team and special mention to the producer who came forward to make this possible.
A Bit of Fry & Laurie (1987)
CLASSIC SKETCH COMEDY
So, I am not a British citizen but let me tell you that this is by far one of the best sketch comedies I can ever ask for after seeing lot stand ups and off the age comedy shows. This still remains to me one of the go to shows whenever I can find time.
I myself watched it multiple times and I can understand the some of satires be it political or social hinting towards the society at that time. To be honest some of them I think will be quite relevant today. The street interviews were also quite a brilliant idea. Before this I knew Hugh Laurie from Stuart Little, House M.D show. I am pleased to see he was such a great artist in physical, verbal comedic expressions and the same with Stephen Fry as well.
I would pay good money to be able to see these two gentleman again on the screen together.
Maya Bazaar (1957)
One of those GREAT EPICS one can ever see/make
EPIC....in short what I can say about this movie. Although it is not my generation kind of movie, still it intrigues me. Just too good. The screenplay looks like free flowing water not too much not too less just enough to take the audience watching on a cruising journey. Of course, the songs which are one of the crown jewels of Indian cinema never disappoint.
Probably the best part is where there is a device called 'PRIYADARSHINI' , a device similar to Skype these days. I have no brains to even fathom how could the director in those days could even think of such thing. Simply magical.
As for the entire crew nothing in particular to say about them. If one follows Telugu films one knows all the cast and crew are of legend status in Telugu Industry.
I Just feel lucky to have watched this movie.
Goodachari (2018)
Fresh & Gripping Spy Thriller
I am happy to write that I found a movie in Telugu with a gripping screenplay for most of its part with its own mix of twists and turns. It is a welcome fresh approach in the industry and the director did more or less a complete justice. This however not to take anything away from any of the actors or any of the other crew members like photography or even music score for that matter (which was so embedded with the emotions of the movie).
I really have to appreciate not only the technical work of the entire team (which I heard was also on a tighter budget so, kudos there as well) but, the decision to come forward and make such a movie.
We as audience are really thrilled such new kind of films in our industry which in turn makes the whole cinema much better in the future inspiring others. Great Job guys.
