Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
Wonderful movie!!
I was just commenting on the TRASH that is "Fun With Dick and Jane" (do not even consider watching it) and I decided to come and be sure that this movie was getting the praise that it deserves. Yeah, for the IMDb community.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is a wonderful movie. It has a great script, an interesting story, it's not predictable, and it's wonderfully acted by all.
That's it. No, it is not your usual Hollywood crap. You will not feel like an idiot after you watch it, like you might after watching "Fun With Dick and Jane" or "You've Got Mail" or other such fluff.
Watch it with someone you love.
Fun with Dick and Jane (2005)
Do not waste your money
This movie was terrible. It made no sense and it wasn't at all funny. I know that some people avoid Jim Carrey movies just because it's him. I am not one of those people. I like Jim Carrey and have, in the past, liked his co-star Tea Leoni. This movie just doesn't work. Was in the editing? The script? I'm just not sure, but it't just not good. Their schemes are too complicated and strange. The kid in the movie is out of place. The maid character is also out of place and not funny and just confusing. I have not seen the original and don't know if they tried to mirror it and that is the problem, but stand alone this movie is not worth seeing.
We Sold Our Souls for Rock 'n Roll (2001)
Excellent movie
If you ever went to Ozz Fest or if you are simply curious about what might have gone on there, you want to see this movie. If you are an Ozzy fan, you want to see this movie. It's your personal backstage pass to the festival, how it came about and what is really going on behind the scenes. You get to see the Osbournes before they were MTV stars, though they are basically the same (which is why we love them).
I saw this movie at SXSW in Austin, TX and was hoping for national release as well as a DVD release. I still hope this happens. It's just as good as any rock-n-roll documentary and this is no surprise since it has a great director.
