It's just dumb
19 November 2005
I went into this thinking because if the philosophical nature this would have to be a decent flick but ended up watcing the most juvenile piece of junk I've ever seen and though these comments require ten lines of summary the only way to describe this movie is it's just dumb so I'll go on for a few more lines to relay in my humble opinion this movie is just dumb. did I already mention that? If not, let me state it again, dumb, just, and, nothing, more. dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, in, fact, so dumb that I really think the overall flow and development of the movie was so dumb it sort of follows with the style and structure of this review, just really dumb.

Most underrated show on television period
21 October 2005
I can not believe more people are not watching this show. It looks more like a major motion picture than a TV show, the actors are fun to watch and give great performances every week. And every episode ends with a cliffhanger that keeps me counting the days until the next episode. Aside from "SOUTH PARK" I think this is the best show on the air. Check it out. You won't be disappointed (maybe a little by the "DESPERATE HOUSWIVES" style narration, but, fortunately, they don't overdo it).

Other than that there's not a lot left to say, just watch the show, do it for me because if more people don't watch it they'll take it off the air and then I'll have nothing to do on Tuesday nights between 9pm and 10pm.

It looked fake to me
30 June 2005
Nothing in this movie rang true. Most of all, the effects. To me they looked animated and I think technology has reached a point where we're actually regressing. I just watched EMPIRE STRIKES BACK again and I was amazed at how real it looked compared to SITH. Not to mention how superior every other element was in the old Star Wars. This new stuff SUCKS BAD. Audiences have got to start demanding more! If something looks poor just don't go see it. Hopefully this summers poor box-office receipts mixed with the fact there's so much poor material out there will send a message to the studios, but I think it will have to get a lot worse before they start putting out better stuff.

Should be common
5 April 2005
The fact the this picture is so highly regarded makes me weep for the state of American cinema. Yes it is a good movie. I believe any movie is good or bad, deserving 1 or 10 stars. But what makes this movie good? All it really does is show us the fragile and intricate nature of human relationships in a way that rings true. Isn't this what all movies are supposed to do? I don't care what genre, all the memorable movies are really about this balance. In fact, don't we spend our entire conscious life considering and manipulating, strengthening and weakening, building and destroying this fragile balance? So why don't all movies achieve the balance? This commenter believes it is because of the very hard work that must go into conveying this balance in a manner that achieves verisimilitude. It requires total submergence into the tedious and the frustrating. They become almost a philosophy in themselves. And it's no fun (as hard work never is). The fact so many movies don't achieve what Sideways does can only be due to a lack of discipline. And this lack of discipline in somrhthing as high-profile as motion picture may even have a trickle-down effect that is poisoning our culture. I'm probably wrong about that. But it seems like a lot of people agree Sideways is a good movie. I think it is too.

The greatest Jeep commercial I've ever seen
3 April 2005
What I loved most about this movie is that you really get the classic feel that a Jeep is all you need to create thought provoking and memorable cinema. Jeeps are rugged, sporty and undeniably sexy. I've often considered purchasing a Volvo or possibly an Acura, but this movie did exactly what it set out to do: showed me the errors of my ways: my next vehicle will be a Jeep or will not be at all! But don't take my word for it. On March 8th run to the nearest multiplex and shell out $10 of your hard-earned money and see this world-class advertisement for yourself. The only negative comment I have is, well, other Jeep commercials I've seen do have a better story, more interesting characters and memorable dialog, but forget about that. That's not what makes brilliant movies now. Jeeps do. And don't get me started about the Ray-Bans. I just bought 10 pair. That's right. It's also the most brilliant Ray-Ban commercial ever. It's that good.
