The animation is quite jarring, it almost turned me off completely. 3D models are stiff and frame rate very low, also there a weird blur when characters move. The movie has a very slow start, it takes about 30 minutes until something interesting happens but once it does, things pick up real quick. I got from really bored to mildly interested and by the end I was even rooting for the main characters. It's not that bad but it's a slog until you get to the good part.
Cube (1997)
Refreshing
This movie is about a group of people trapped inside a gigantic cube, which also consists of thousands of cubic rooms, some of them with traps inside, each trap unique and efficient in slaughtering humans. Even if this kind of premise has been done to death already (Saw), Cube seemed refreshing to me. It's a very mysterious movie, the ending itself left open to the viewer's imagination, it's not really about the cube itself but about the relation between the characters and their capacity to overcome the human ego in order to solve the cubic maze. Can't really say that the human relations are what kept me interested, they're not bad but there's always that one cliché character that will make you roll your eyes, I was more fascinated about the cube itself, the reasons and ideas behind it, so yea, Cube will probably stir your imagination, later parts of the movie deepening you even further into mystery and interpretation. It's a great movie, a bit dragged down by the average characters, nonetheless a must-see.
Beruseruku (2016)
Why ruin it?
Awfully rendered CGI characters on average backgrounds, actually the characters look so bad that they make the backgrounds look beautiful in comparison(they're really not). Each character seems so stiff and lifeless that even a 50 year old shoe could show more emotion. When they talk there's no emotion or muscle movement on their face at all, except the mouth, the rest of their body staying still and staring into nothingness. When performing fast or even normal movements everything looks really jerky and rigid, like the plastic action figures we used to play in our childhood. Because they are so lifeless it's pretty hard to care for them, or even to get involved in the story at all. I've been a huge fan of the old series and I can get past many things, I'm an easily pleased person but this is so bad, even lowering your expectations you'll probably still get disappointed. I have not read the source material yet but I've seen various panels from the manga and almost each one is a hand drawn masterpiece, this 2016 adaptation brings so much dishonor to it. I thought the 2012- 2013 Berserk CGI adaptations were a setback but I would gladly watch those over this pure crap. If they keep going with the same CGI crap, the show is ruined.
Supravietuitorul (2008)
An unnecessary movie
Unnecessary, a sequel that only brings dishonor to the source material (the original movie wasn't a masterpiece anyway). It's full of bloopers and goofs and untalented actors and actresses, the plot is practically inexistent. But worst of all, are the stolen ideas, stolen from the movie The Deer Hunter, a movie that came out almost 40 years ago, he probably thought he could fool us, he probably managed with some of his older fans. One of the worst movies by Sergiu Nicolaescu, if not the worst, he made it just to add a few more couple of bucks to his pocket, which is a shame. He was probably too old and unfit to direct at that point but it's still no excuse. I do not recommend it to anyone.
