Sooooooo disapointed by the ending...
17 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
First of all, I wouldn't call this a review, is more of an impression after just finishing watching the show, being disappointed about it.

I spotted "The Man" after it just started on Prime, read the plot and I was hooked, and so close to hitting play. But, I didn't break my rule, that the TV Series should be finished before I start watching it.

I found out the Series is wrapped up, and I started to watch it. Very captivating in the first season, how it cannot be? Is based on one of the biggest IFs in history.

I'm just gonna come with a PRO/CONS list, it might miss something but whatever.

PRO
  • The fact that they kept so many elements of the real world, places, names, symbols, people, events
  • So many good characters, and it seems in every episode if not every scene something else is revealed.
  • I particularly like Trade Minister Tagomi, Chief Inspector Kido, Reichsmarshall John Smith, Hawthorne Abensen himself as characters and very good acting as well
  • I'm so glad it didn't build into a classic drama - the romance between Juliana - Joe
  • I'm sooooo glad it did not become an SF series, the action gravitates to the whole idea of travelling, and parallel universes, but is more important what happens to "our" world.
  • Very nice build-up to the last episode

CONS
  • A lot of characters and paths are dropped, after just revealing details obviously that happens in a lot of TV Series, but I thought here was done a lot
e.g. Nicole, Ed, Frank in a way just to name a few in mind atm.
  • From season 3 it seems it had to thick all the boxes, of a "modern series" to please everybody (gay/lesbian couples, black resistance), although most of them unnecessary and simply not needed. But, hey that's the agenda...
  • ONE OF THE WORST ENDINGS EVER, I expected to have a lot of questions unanswered after watching this. but why butcher a show like this, it doesn't make sense, you introduce a lot of possible scenarios during season 4, and then what!?

Probably missed a few aspects on both sides, but it is what it is.

Overall, S1 = 10; S2 = 10; S3 = 7; S4 = 5;

I've got the same bed as Angela, or she has the same bed as me...

Warning: Spoilers
Well , that's pretty much the most interesting thing that I could pick up.

Who wrote this script?? A 10 year old one??

I mean, yeah good start, it took a little bit too much and it didn't say that many relevant stuff. It doesn't affect the action at all that Angela is a student, and she's not going to her courses and all.

Just a few things that were so bad, Elliot was impossible to kill, you don't strangle someone and then he/she just wake up, they could've chopped them in small pieces just after Elliot got injured.

And yeah the ending is so stupid, the girls are saving the day, but they could've just do that in any other day...

Maybe if someone with a little bit of talent in screenwriting would've been involved this would've worth watching, but there were 89 time wasting minutes.

It could've been better, it could've been worse...

Decent movie, not a must watch, but not a time waster either.

The action could've been a little bit more faster, especially at the start, and some of the events were pretty plausible, but all around a good movie that I enjoy watching.

It is tragic when you lose your parents, and it is even worse if you're a minor...

This could've been soooo good...

But bad acting and stupid and idiotic ending ruined it.

Started too slow, then it went a little bit faster, waited for the "horror", decent twist, although expected.

I personally think the main idea with better acting and a better screenplay would've been an impressive movie.

But, is only a B- movie, and only because it says Netflix on it.

P.S. Someone might consider the following a SPOILER. I was gonna go for a 6 after the final twist, why they haven't bloody stopped it there I don't get it, but the extra ending with a very stupid "killing" scene, and then the final final "duet" was worth a -2.
