The Witcher (2019)
I love fantasy, but..
So, I really love the fantasy genre, and I SO wanted to like this! There are so many fantasy books that should be made into movies/series. (Like the books by Joe Abercrombie, Brian Lee Durfee, John Gwynne, Chris Wooding).
I´ve tried watching the first episodes three times now during the last two years, and this time I made it through a few more episodes and quite enjoyed it. But when the Porcupine-guy showed up in ep 4 or something, I gave it up. It started reminding me of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and that just made the whole experience way too "young adult fantasy-like". I wish it was a bit more dark, less singing and always; more blood. Cavill is good though, and so is miss Chalotra, and I might even give it a new chance next year..
Aftershock: Everest and the Nepal Earthquake (2022)
Infuriating!
This docuseries was extremely well documented and just completely riveting! The beautiful scenery and the power of nature was absolutely overwhelming and the editing keeps you on the egde of your seat the whole time.
This docu sadly also shows the worst in people. I will not spoil anything, but there are some young guys (three friends) that just made me extremely angry for what they did! I actually yelled at the screen at one point, because these guys were so selfish, rude and just outright a**holes.
The after effects of natural disasters are still quite impossible to comprehend sometimes and I feel so sad for those beautiful locals affected.
Sherlock: The Sign of Three (2014)
English delight
I must say I really enjoyed this one. I think this might be the first episode where we really get to see more of a human side to our enigmatic and sometimes alien Sherlock. And now that we have really gotten to know the most of the characters, I am pleased to see all the humour-bits elegantly planted for the fans amusement, that might not have worked in the first episodes in season one.
I absolutely love this show. It is brilliantly written, with perfect acting,a pleasant soundtrack, and topped with some of that superb English humour (which sometimes is so fast-paced that I have to stop, rewind, watch it again, then laugh out loud when i finally get it)
This is just pure English delight.
