For Darkseid
27 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Everyone is giving their opinions as a moviegoer. And opinions are divided amongst. Because not everyone understands the DC Universe complexity that is dark and gritty, and also twisted plot. The movie was made purely for fanboys and neutral-watchers.

I am pretty sure there are some who didn't even know about Man-Bat in Batman's Knightmare. Or did they notice Darkseid's omega symbol in the burning city or the Parademons. The motherbox fusion with Victor Stone. A lot of audiences are confused with the plot because they never read the comics and watch the animation. They are the critical audiences.

To sum it up, opinions are divided between 3 categories: 1) Moviegoers (Watch whatever, no research, just know something in general) 2) Fanboys (Comic book loyalists) 3) Neutral (Knows everything but decided to give the movie directors a chance)

Moviegoers: i. Moviegoers are upset because the plot was too complex to understand. ii. Do not understand why two heroes fought iii. Do not understand the role of each character. iv. just don't understand anything.

Fanboys: i. Fans are upset of how soon the story has hasten to reach the formation of Justice League. ii. Fans are upset of how Lex access the Zod's mothership and transform him into Ancient Kryptionian killing machine meant to kill Superman; when none of that ever happen in comics before. iii. Fans are upset how Doomsday look like an abomination. iv Fans are upset because the battle between Superman and Doomsday was amusingly pathetic. v. Fans are upset because Batman do not use guns to shoot Kryptonite bullets at Superman, because Batman cooperate with Green Arrow to shoot Kryptonite arrows. vi. Upset because Lex knows Clark Kent is Superman.

Neutral: i. Understood that it's Snyderverse of DC Universe. ii. Willing to give the movie director a chance because neutral waited for the characters to be on the silver screen far too long time.

As for me, I'm excited that Darkseid is finally coming to live screen. And Brainiac could be somewhere, it was mentioned before Lex drew blood on Zod's face.

In conclusion, it's not easy to have these complex characters made into movies. It's easy to read and watch animation but putting them on the giant screen and open up in all theatres.

So let's give Zack Snyder a chance for bringing the characters to life. I have been waiting for far too damn long time. Critics and bad reviews? Let them be. The moviegoers just want to watch for the sake of watching. Criticism of moviegoers made are based on their personal opinion.

Because seriously they wouldn't understand and let's just let them be.

There are hatred from fanboys and moviegoers... but let's just Snyder a chance.

--- For reading material, which I analysed on the film, I feel some parts are partially taken from these books. Just my opinions.: 1) Batman: Earth One 2) Batman: The Dark Knight Returns 3) The Death of Superman 4) Trinity 5) Flashpoint 6) The New 52 7) Final Crisis

Nice night for a walk, eh?
12 July 2015
Warning: Spoilers
The year is 2029. John Connor, leader of the Resistance continues the War against the Machines. At both Colorado and Los Angeles offensive, John's fears of the unknown future as when the machines starts to lose on the offensive side; the machines initiates a new plan to send a T-800 to 1984 to kill his mother, Sarah Connor.

On the verge of winning the war against Skynet, Connor sends his most trusted lieutenant Kyle Reese back through time to save his mother Sarah Connor's life and ensure his own existence. However, while inside the Time Displacement Equipment, John Connor has been compromised. Unsure of what happen in the future or will happen after reaching his destination.

Reese arrived on May 12, 1984 - but his memories is shattered with two alternate time-lines. First, Sarah Connor saves his life. She is not weak as told by Connor. Sarah has a "Guardian" Terminator, which saves her life when a T-1000 was sent to attack her.

The time-lines has been altered. Combining both The Terminator and Terminator: Judgement Day movies into Terminator: Genisys.

The entire franchise has been reset after John Connor has been infected by T-5000 Genisys in the future, whom seem to have a real body and blend as TechCom resistance army. The John Connor whom Reese once know is no longer there, only fraction of his memories and voice surfaces. His entire life is unreal.

There are some clichés scenes to make tribute to James Cameron The Terminator; when a Terminator arrives in 1984 to find clothes from the thug. The T-1000 arrival and more. But Genisys is much more than those.

The unwritten future or the future that Reese came from is unknown. But it does seems that the machines has ruled the future. The post credit scene has also secure a sequel to Genisys.

The Interview (II) (2014)
5/10
Politically Incorrect & Over Exaggerate Satire
26 December 2014
I was having a high expectation of what would The Interview would become of. The trailer look surprisingly interesting and intriguing. But, it's more like having Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake trying so hard to be funny. And they are not. And James Franco as Dave Skylark - he seem to be a moronic fool, trying to impress audience.

The whole setting just doesn't blend at all. No proper film setting. More like a draft sketch that's should be thrown a long time.

This movie is enjoyable but it's just too easy for two idiots attempt killing Kim Jog-un.

This is like the worse ever made in 2014

Horrible Bosses is Horrible Sequel
18 December 2014
The sequel continues with Nick Hendricks, Dale Arbus, and Kurt Buckman decide to start their own business after tiring of working for ungrateful bosses. Their idea is a car-wash-inspired shower head called the "Shower Buddy". But things goes awry wrong after finding themselves an investor who set them up. And that's Burt Hanson (Christoph Waltz) of Boulder Stream.

Every character in this film is unique but one character ruins and annoys me the entire sequence is Charlie Day as Dale. He's so rude and noisy and less intelligent.Everything is wrong about him. I would prefer another actor to take over this character.

From the foundation of Shower Buddy on live television to the kidnapping of Rex . He shows that he got no IQ. This film would be better off if he could have some IQ and some sense of humor.

His humor is purely dumb and it sucks. While Nick and Kurt are always there to humor us. Dale, please - stop mimicking that voice.

The Young, The Veterans, and The Warlord.
1 August 2014
Warning: Spoilers
The Expendables 3 just get bigger and better than first two films. Most enjoyable film where the new kids and old school veterans join forces to take down the ruthless arms-dealer and co-founder of the original Expendables - Conrad Stonebanks. Stonebanks is played by Mel Gibson.

Lots of guns and military warfare. The only disappointing scene was when Conrad ran over his truck the destructive building to have a brawl with Barney. And he died there. I thought Mel Gibson gonna play a more important and bigger role. Maybe a continuous sequel.

Antonio Banderas played his native as a comedian and accurate marksman but his ridiculous talkative manner just makes you feel to punch him on the face. Banderas act as Galgo reminds me of Mr.Bean for some reason.

Brave Young Children
31 January 2014
Based on a true event during the Nazi regime, where 21 year-old Sophie Magdalena Scholl (Julia Jentsch) and her brother Hans Fritz Scholl (Fabian Hinrichs), who were members of the White Rose Resistance.

An anti-Nazi movement led by a group of German students distributing leaflets securing most University perimeters. The movement was established to protest in a non-violent method against the Nazi regime and ideologies especially when the Nazis has declared war on all Jews.

The movement is famous for distributing anonymous leaflet campaign between mid 1942 until early 1943. Sophie Scholl and her brother Hans and friend, Christoph Probst were caught guillotine for treason.

Munich University's square now bears the name as Geschwister-Scholl- Platz (Scholl Siblings Square as remembrance of their fighting spirit against inhumane leadership.

These leaflets was renamed as The Manifesto of the students of Munich and was airborne in mid 1943.

Rothemund has made this film an epic on the Sophie Scholl's fight for justice and freedom for human rights. An interesting historical film that one should watch.

Julia Jenstch has the talent to bring out the character which is similar to Lena Stolze in 1982. But I'm not sure if I could call it a remake because both films are brilliant great!

Dante's Pathetic Journey
31 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Based on Electronic Arts' video game entitled, Dante's Inferno – taken from Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy comes an epic gameplay battle through the hounds of hell.

Dante's Inferno – An Animated Epic is an essential walk-through on animation platform. Each scenes has a different chapter title similar to the game and the written book.

The scene begins with Dante returning from the Third Crusade to find his home in a bloody mess, his father died. And his beloved Beatrice was on her last breathe. Then she turn into a spirit and before she could ascend to Heaven – a demonic shadow: Lucifer appeared and take her away into Hell.

The film is like an indirect walk-through to the game. Setting on a journey to save the soul of your love because you betrayed your trust. I mean "you" as the character itself.

Battling foul demons and all those sinners via the stages of Hell and lastly Lucifer himself. Each chapter was directed by various directors and you can see the difference of the animated art in it. Fascinating doesn't it?

However, if you have not played the game – watching this does not give you real kick because not everything on the game is on the animation.

The History of Rock 'n Roll
31 January 2014
Cadillac Records is a 2008 dramatic jazz and blues music biopic written and directed by Darnell Martin. The film explores the musical era from the early 1940s to the late 1960s, chronicling the life of the influential Chicago-based record-company executive Leonard Chess, and the singers who recorded for Chess Records.

The story begins with Muddy Waters with his talents being found by Leonard Chess. Thus creating the Chess Records and making Muddy Waters as his business partner. Later we see Little Walter, Howlin' Wolf and Chuck Berry being part of the whole blues gang.

The film also depicts the life of each blues musicians as from the background they were to the fame they received.

The Rolling Stone formed their band name after one of Waters famous song. Though that guy in that scene sure doesn't look like Mick Jagger at all.

The storyline differs from its original true side story but after all it's a good film. We get to see Chuck Berry in his Sweet Little Sixteen and My ding-a-ling. And Beach Boys got sued for copyright changing Berry's Sweet Little Sixteen to Surfin' USA.

Cadillac Records is the beginning of all rock 'n' roll. More like the father of rock 'n' roll!

You Can't Count Cards
31 January 2014
21 is a drama biopic on the lives of a genius individual whose is Jeffrey Ma. Written and interviewed by Ben Mezrich. An intriguing story about "what if" but now forget the "what if" because it already happened.

The film is portrayed in a more of a "what if" plot because Ben Campbell may be smart but he is reluctant to take chances if he gets caught for counting cards.

The antagonist in the film – Micky Rosa is the mastermind for every winnings. He is just the planner and yet getting the biggest portion. Ben was recruited because he is impressed with Ben's mathematics and Ben eventually needed money or scholarship to complete his studies. Otherwise he will ended up nowhere.

21 is almost like a teen movie retelling in heist crime using genius brains to win. Overall, there's nothing more you can expect from this film. Predictable.

License to Kill
31 January 2014
Cold and to the point in his dealings with others, 47 displays an introspective nature, contemplating his own existence and his reason for being in the world – he once sought refuge and guidance in the Catholic church.

Yet, in line with his programming, he is a merciless killer – deliberate and cunning, but in line with his burgeoning conscience, 47 can also show great respect toward others: freeing a kidnapped prostitute in the Codename 47, as well as taking pride in not creating any collateral damage during a hit. He constantly looks for ways to conduct his work without injuring innocents or even alerting them to his macabre task.

The creators of Hit-man were inspired by Luc Besson's assassin movies such as Nikita and The Professional, Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs and the popular action movies of the Hong Kong film industry. What's more is that Hit-man is produced by Besson too!

Bloody Entertaining to the last!
31 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Based on the extraordinary graphic novel by Frank Miller of the same name: 300 comes to life in a motion picture.

There are always mixed comments between the graphic novel and the movie itself but this one is seriously the same – I mean it's identically the same, the impact is there and everything was there.

But this masculine movie is one awesome stuff. Even girls drools on them! What's more important is the technique and slow motion tricks used by Zack Snyder to capture every movement to look and feel like a comic book. The feeling is awesome and yeah it's kinda cool too!

--

Spartan orator, Dilios (David Wenham), narrates of the young Leonidas (Tyler Neitzel) undergoing his childhood training, explaining the rigors of Spartan life.

Leonidas is cast out into the wild, and survives the harsh winter to return to his home, when he is crowned King.

Dilios then tells of when a group of Persian messengers (Peter Mensah) arrive at Sparta, demanding Sparta's submission to King Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro).

Outraged and offended at their behavior, King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and his guards throw the messengers into a pit, resolving to face the Persians.

Leonidas then visits the Oracle (Kelly Craig), proposing a strategy to repel the numerically-superior enemy, and offers the priests a customary payment in gold.

The priests, called Ephors, having already been bribed by Xerxes, interpret the Oracle's message to mean that Sparta should not go to war, so as to not interrupt the sacred Carneian festival.

Despite the warning, Leonidas gathers 300 of his best soldiers to fight the Persians, selecting only those who have already sired male children, so that their family name can continue even after their death.

As they march north, they are joined by a group of Arcadians and other Greeks.

Arriving at the narrow cliffs of Thermopylae (referred to as the "Hot Gates"), in sight of the Persian army, they build a wall to halt the Persians' advancement.

In Sparta, Theron rapes Queen Gorgo (Lena Headey), Queen of Sparta (Leonidas' wife), in favor to send reinforcements to Leonidas. During the sacred council meeting, Theron betrays the Queen, accusing her of being a seducer and temptress.

She stabbed him with a dagger from a standing guard, and she repeats what he told her before she was raped: "This will not be over quickly, you will not enjoy this".

The dagger that Gorgo uses to kill Theron pierces his purse, spilling Persian coins from his robe, revealing his role as traitor, and the Council agrees to unite against Persia.

At Thermopylae, the Persians use the another path guided by Ephialtes (Andrew Tiernan) to surround the Spartans. Xerxes' general demands their surrender and repeat the similar offering.

A plan in ploy when Leonidas took down his helm, spear and shield, a breath of precision to allow one of his men to leap over him and killing the general.

Enraged with anger, Xerxes roars his armies to attack, when Leonidas rises and hurls his spear at Xerxes, pierces the King on the cheek, as he promises earlier to make the "god-king" bleed.

Moments before his death, Leonidas pledges his undying love to Gorgo.

In conclusion, Dilios led 10,000 Spartans and 30,000 free Greeks against the Persian army in Battle Of Plataea.

Iron Man is Alive
31 January 2014
Iron Man is a good start for new fanbase and existing fans, it tells a little history on how he eventually took the responsibility to become Iron Man. Barely alive and escaping from terrorist group is not one could think about it, what's more building an armor suit to fly from the terrorist hideout and to be saved once more.

In Marvel Comics, Tony Stark was also saved by Dr. Yinsen but set during the Vietnam War instead in Afghanistan (prior to Afghan war-torn).

There are many changes in comparison with the comics and movie. Movie tries to make things as interesting as possible for the new and unknown audience.

Comic geeks like myself would have to conclude that this is the Iron Man we all knew but in the different era and technology.

But I'm pretty much amazed how Favreau managed to make the suit alive.

Revenge Best Served Cold
31 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
A musical horror and thriller film which is so fascinating and so thin and meaningful the storyline that takes the whole world into "the great black pit".

The best musical horror of the century since the Phantom of the Opera! It's one of my favorite collection for now. Broadway would be much better.

The bittersweet tale of a fine and talented young barber has been locked away with a sentence he never committed in his life. Benjamin Barker (Johnny Depp) is left ought to never to see his beautiful Lucy (Laura Michelle Kelly) and stillborn daughter, Johanna.

After a gruesome living nightmare and hell in the middle of the ocean's cells, Barker has returned with vengeance and to repay the crimes he never done with his razor awaiting him.

A new man was born – the name that will take his revenge is Sweeney Todd.

With a little help of Mrs. Lovett's (Helena Bonham Carter) meat pie shop, Todd will have his hands on the throat of Judge Turpin (Alan Rickman).

Not The Standard of Film I Expect
31 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Based on a real life account – Armin Meiwes was the real "Hannibal Lecter" chewing and preserving his victim alive in a meat refrigerator. He acquired his victim via an agreement of willingness to have his meat eaten alive. His victim lavishly wanted his genital to be cut and cooked raw and share the meat between both men.

The film distinguished from the gruesome details yet if you have the eyes to see and listen. Go ahead. And this is way beyond BDSM (Bondage SadoMasochism).

Katie Armstrong (Keri Russell), an American student in Germany studies on criminal psychology chooses a notorious subject to research for her thesis: the cannibal killer Oliver Hartwin (Thomas Kretschmann) and his victim, Simon Grombeck (Thomas Huber).

An untold tale began to lead the story when she discovered a snuff tape documenting the cannibalistic journal between the two men.

If Secrets Can Be Unlocked within Sleep..
31 January 2014
"What is the most resilient parasite? A bacteria? A virus? An intestinal worm?" – A science-fiction-action-heist film from the imagination of director Christopher Nolan gives us a fresh new experience with a very dark element combining both The Matrix and The Dark Knight comes a movie titled: Inception.

Inception is like the advance-tutorial of understanding; just like James Cameron's Avatar. The concept of the film is very alike like The Matrix except the fact that you won't die in your sleep like how The Matrix did.

Every scenes of Inception is meticulously detailed and requires one full attention in understanding about the stages of the dream world and what may happen in the dream world.

It is like taking Carl Jung and Siegmund Freud hypothetical content analysis theories and turning them into movies.

The film shows an important item which they called it totem. A unique item where only the user knows what is it like and for them to know that they are actually in the real world.

However, the state of having a dream within a dream is not impossible. It appears when someone tried to wake you up and you fall back into your sleep and start dreaming about waking up and doing your daily routine when you are actually still in your sleep and when you tried to wake up in the real world, you feel numb and still unaware if you are still dreaming but your head feels tired.

I have experience and endured it before and scientist calls it sleep paralysis.

Before Bruce Lee, There Was Ip Man..
31 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Ip Man like the film title is based loosely on the legendary Wing Chun's martial artist who is the mentor of Bruce Lee, when he brought Wing Chun to Hollywood and impressing the westerners.

Ip Man was finally put into film after getting approval from his family members.

Ip Man tells a story of a humble man and his family yet the fight scenes are just part of the excitement to attract people. Ip Man's personality is rather simple and often avoid troubles as possible. He has shown his moral values towards his friends and family which seems to promote the Chinese culture of respecting the elders and so forth.

And to let the world know what is Wing Chun. Like the film, Ip Man do not accept disciples because he is afraid if people misuse his martial arts for the sake of getting into trouble and having fights which could damage his family name, master name and also reputation.

This is a beautiful biopic film that one must watch! Absolutely brilliant film!

Fresh Beginnings
31 January 2014
Ip Man returns in this sequel after escaping from the Japanese Occupation. He settles in Hong Kong with his family in hopes to provide them a better living. Thus deciding on opening his own school.

Despite he endured many obstacles along the way but managed to settle at ease. He is not only good with his bare hands but he is also a man of righteous. His humbleness has bring him forth to build a harmony community among those who lives with him.

The sequel provides more extensive plot and featuring the action- choreographer, Sammo Hung to participate in the film adding an extra excitement. The fight scenes has taken into another level of brutality.

This is one sequel where one must watch. Try to understand the moral behind the scenes. Although, the fight scenes are refreshing and energetic.

The Unsung Partisans
31 January 2014
Defiance was based on a true story written by Nechama Tec. The Bielski Otriad and the brotherhood are somewhat a tale of heroes saving their race from the holocaust and ghettoes.

It is a film about anti-Semitism and racism. It's about survivor. It's about helping each other and not hate each other. It's about defending against ruthless evil.

The Operation Barbarossa in this film is just small part of it. The Bielski Otriad has helped 1,200 Jews to survive.

Liev Schreiber puts up a thick European accent which sounds very convincing. Although I know his family background came from Europe but it is rarely seen and heard of him putting himself to act as Zus.

Daniel Craig will always remind us about James Bond. But he's not my preferred James Bond at all. He certainly carries the role of a loving brother and does not make hasty decisions.

Harvey Milk is an openly gay till he was shot down before he can continue his campaign. However his fight for gay rights has left a legacy to help people to raise awareness not to mistreat others but accept who they are.

It's biopic film to educate people not to discriminate other genders whether they gays and lesbians. After all, they are human beings with opposite attracts.

Sean Penn has taken his act to a whole new level delivering a good and powerful speech depicting the late Harvey Milk. Both James Franco and Emile Hirsch have chosen to play their parts carefully as they portrayed important supporting roles in Harvey Milk's life.

Absolutely brilliant film!

Somebody Just Have to be Robin
30 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
The Green Hornet is not something what I expected it to be. It's like having Will Ferell and Mark Wahlberg together in The Other Guys.

Seth Rogen as born loser and son inherited all his father's wealth and the newspaper agency turn Green Hornet along with his chauffeur Kato (pronounce as Cay-toe). Adventures into the crime scene. Portraying both good and bad roles.

Two guys chasing after a newly hired secretary (Cameron Diaz) in the newspaper agency.

Jay Chou has indeed improve his English but his fight scenes are heavily CGi all the way which would reminds you of Jet Li's The One.

It's totally like some mixed game and The One in it. Poor storyline.

Kevin Smith is best to write the script instead. Read the comic books is better than watching this.

Bruce Lee is still the best!!

She gets on her horse and find Cogburn and LaBouef on the other side pf the shore. She is no doubt bold and brave to cross the river and reach there.

The next day, she learns Cogburn and Laboeuf have agreed to split the Texas reward on Chaney and accuses him of fraud. After a dispute, Cogburn ends his and Laboeuf's deal and he leaves.

White in hot pursuit of the "Lucky" Ned Pepper gang with whom Chaney is with, they meet a doctor who instructs them to a cabin for shelter. Two outlaws, Quincey (Paul Rae) and Moon (Domhnall Gleeson) are staying there, one of whom Cogburn knows to a friend of "Lucky" Ned Pepper.

Cogburn kills two members of the gang, as well as Pepper's horse, but accidentally wounds LaBoeuf.During the night and the next day, Cogburn drinks a great deal of whiskey. He and LaBoeuf argues again.

The next morning, Mattie encounters Chaney at the river. She draws her father's pistol and shoots him when he tries to take her with him but he survives. The pistol misfires as she tries to finish him off; he drags her back to Pepper who uses her to make Cogburn leave. Pepper orders Chaney not to harm her and to take her to safety.

Once alone, Chaney disobeys Ned and tries to kill her. In the nick of time, LaBoeuf appears and knocks Chaney with a boulder. They watch as Cogburn takes on the remaining members of Ned's gang.

LaBoeuf shoots Ned through the heart and kills him from four hundred yards away, impressing Mattie with his skill as a marksman. Chaney wakes up to attacks Laboeuf, and Mattie shoots Chaney in the chest and knocks him over cliff, killing him.

The recoil creates a knock-back pushing her back into a pit of rattlesnakes. She was bitten before Cogburn could save her. Cogburn rides day and night to get Mattie to a doctor, carrying her after he has to kill Mattie's exhausted horse.

Twenty-five years later, Mattie – now 40 and with only one arm, the result of an amputation necessitated by gangrene from the snakebite – receives a note from Cogburn with a flyer enclosed inviting her to meet him at a traveling Wild West show with which he is performing when it stops in Memphis. When she arrives at the site, she learns that Cogburn died three days earlier.
