Twisted Metal (2023– )
8/10
Lots of great, some bad
4 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I loved that twisted metal is grounded in reality, some of it over the top but never in the realm of fantasy. I was most skeptical about sweet tooth but he turned out to be my fave. My only criticism would be at the end with sweet tooth getting a headshot and still surviving that along with getting run over. Also same with amber getting shot square in the throat and being ok. Both incidents has me suspending too much belief and is no longer grounded in the realm reality. I enjoyed the goofy banter even tho it was a little extra at times so imo with some minor balance adjustments, the show can go from an 8 to a 10. Can't wait for the tournament.

decent action dumb plot
9 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Doctor Strange tries to brainwash the world bc Peter Parker couldnt get into MIT, such a dumb plot. It's cool that they brought back all these villains, and the action scenes are decent although you can tell their Vfx budget went down significantly. I do give it a 4 bc I can't get past how dumb the decisions are that peter parker makes, like spideys on his 6th movie he should be wiser, this seems like a rookie spiderman made for tv movie plot.

Hilarious Cartoons, I skipped the Live Action Scenes
12 December 2021
I would love to see more of the Little Crittles, they deserve to have their own cartoon show. The show is meant for people with a darker sense of humor and at times can be very deus ex machina. I skipped the live action portions, didnt interest me but the show would be a 10 if it was just the cartoons. If you liked shows like Aqua Teen Hunger Force or Tim and Eric, my guess is you're gonna like this.

The Package (II) (2018)

Underrated that's for sure
23 October 2021
I gave The Package a 9 because it's definitely underrated and the score should be higher. Realistically it's a 7+ probably closer to an 8 but there are plenty of laughs to be had, and if you like dumb humor (think penis jokes) then this will hit the spot. This kind of reminds me of Road Trip and Euro Trip from back in the day so it's kind of refreshing to see movies can still be made like this.

Ten Year Old Tom (2021–2023)

If you like Curb, you'll like this
5 October 2021
Just think of Larry David as a 10 year old boy named tom and you have a show called Ten Year Old Tom. I loved Curb Your Enthusiasm so that should probably the metric which upon you decide to watch this show. Lots of funny and akward moments, story line always making an unexpected twist, and I hope they make more episodes. The only bad unrealistic thing I'll say is New Jersey is animated way better than it really is.

Totally underrated
9 August 2021
When AJ had the bugles on all 10 finger tips, I immediately fell in love with her. This show is really funny and I hope they continue to make more episodes. I'm not sure why I didn't know this show existed till I subscribed to paramount+ but this is definitely great content and worth the subscription.

Odd Taxi (2021)

Mediocre mystery, decent ending
13 July 2021
Bit of an echo chamber on Reddit and here in regards to this anime and how amazing it is. It would be a 6 but the ending bumped it to a 7. It was a mediocre mystery, and the last 5 seconds of the first 3 episodes was enough for me to continue. I would not put this in the same category of death note or any other upper echelon thriller/mystery. The animation and soundtrack were fine, yea it looks a little weird but that doesn't lose points for me, I thought the way of the house husband has garbage animation but I thoroughly enjoyed that series.

Surviving Action Park
8 September 2020
Growing up going to Action Park, this place was definitely unsafe. This documentary nails it, and I was fortunate enough to be young enough to be too scared to do some of the crazy acrobatic stunts teenagers would be doing. All in all, I recommend this documentary to get an inside perspective of a kid/teenager growing up in NJ during the 80's and early 90's.

Fun for fans of the original
6 September 2020
The movie probably sucked for people under 30, but if you are a fan of the original Bill and Ted, I highly recommend it. It had the vibe of the original films, and maybe by todays standards wouldn't have gotten made stand alone, but its unique and entertaining, and I wish more sequels could say the same. I recommend anyone new to the series to start with the original movies on a rainy sunday afternoon and then move onto the 3rd.

Death Note (I) (2017)
6/10
A loose adaptation of the original
25 August 2017
The movie is worth a watch if you have 2 hours to kill but it's no masterpiece like the original anime. I believe it to be a dumbed down version, since neither L or Light are shown to be clever. Each character is different from the original adaptation, in fact the only similarities with the original is that there is a Death Note and the shinigami Ryuk who carries out the command. I did not like how L specifically was portrayed with his emotions overwhelming him for 2/3 of the film, and talking like a robot i.e. "Force me to do the same and I assure you will not survive." as he was being choked out. Maybe Netflix can learn from the shortfalls of this film and bring another beloved Japanese adaptation to American audiences such as Great Teacher Onizuka.
