Midnight Mass: Book VII: Revelation (2021)
Completely stupid
Apart from the fact that nearly half of the episode is only singing, this episode exceeds levels of stupidity I have hardly ever seen before. Without spoiling too much: At the end, they have nowhere to go?!? Don't their houses have any basement?! And the angel lets himself having his wings being cut in pieces without reaction? A piece of advice for anyone who absolutely want to watch the episode: do it with 1,25x viewing speed, you will spare some of your lifetime.
The Witcher (2019)
Unlogical, boring, for teenagers only
Giving this show more than a 7 means that the reviewer either belong somehow to The Witcher's industry or is still in teenager age. The series is full of logical mistakes. I couldn't stop shaking my head watching it. Just 1 example: Geralt of Rivia doesn't want to be followed by the annoying bard (which I can understand, I wouldn't either). But instead of shaking him off, he rides his horse so slowly that the bard can walk next to him and "blabla" him all the time. Instead of galloping away the witcher punches the bard in the stomach and continues his way at slow pace. Seriously?! After having watched the full season 1, I didn't feel any thrill. There is nothing novel or witty in this series. The story is totally boring with the usual cliches related to "middle-age" would-be fantasy epics. Finally to the character Geralt of Rivia himself: Looking sad and bored all the time, without talking much, doesn't make you look smart: it infects the viewer who gets bored as well.
El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019)
Excellent!!!
The atmosphere and the genius touches of Breaking Bad are clearly present in this movie. Vince Gilligan did a wonderful job. I was a bit skeptical as I discovered the release of this movie and feared to be disappointed. This wasn't the case. I loved it!
I just wish Jesse had found all the money hidden by Uncle Sam and his guys. Otherwise all the pieces of the puzzle were magnificiently put together. I think Vince Gilligan could have made a better series spin-off with this story instead of "Better Call Saul" which is a bit boring.
Regarding the negative critics here related to the actors who became older... Guys, on which planet do you live? There is no technical work-around for that yet. Just accept it.
Black Mirror (2011)
Simply stupid
Total nonsense... the first seasons were ok but the last one is intellectually very very poor.
Liu lang di qiu (2019)
Stupid, childisch and chinese propaganda
The movie has hardly anything to do with the novel by Cixin Liu. Confusing and boring action scenes, some computer gimmics. The movie is a kind of poor remake of Armaggedon. The computer controlling the space station is also a very poor copy of HAL in 2001 a Space Odyssey. Of course all the heroes saving the Earth are Chinese... all their actions are accompanied by epic music. The novel by Cixin Liu is light years better than this catastrophically bad movie.
Toni Erdmann (2016)
Neither funny nor interesting
A movie in which you feel ashamed for the characters, particularly the father. A total nonsense, no twist, no humor. What is supposed to be funny in this movie? The stupid disguise of the father, who actually belongs in an asylum? And if it is not supposed to be funny, what is the purpose of this story?
American Crime Story: From the Ashes of Tragedy (2016)
Poor casting
The story itself is interesting but could the producers not find anyone better than David Schwimmer?! He even got an Emmy nomination for that? David Schwimmer is always showing all along the episodes exactly the same face: the one of a sad dog. Simply annoying. John Travolta as well shows all the time the same unexpressive face. Not convincing at all.
The Handmaid's Tale (2017)
Boring and somehow stupid
I fail to understand the enthusiasm for this series. What is the purpose in season 2 episode 2 to show a long-lasting sex scene (3 different positions...)? How stupid must the hero be in episod 3 to spend most of her time behind the window, while she should be hiding because the whole police is looking for her? Boring, stupid with false impressions of intellectualism.
John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017)
A parody of itself?
What an awful and stupid movie. It is even unwillingly funny. Apart from the fact that no single bullet obviously finds its way througn Keanu Reeves, the whole movie is a succession of far-fetched situations. The most stupid one is the scene in the railway station in which J. Wick and the bodyguard of the mafia woman fire discretely at each other while moving from one pillar to another. Hilarious! This could be a sequence in Mr. Bean!
