Another level of CG that creates a younger Jones to real older Jones on same movie
10 July 2023
See it as a poem traversing time, thanks.

Wondering how the production crew could make such a beautiful literature in movie art form.

The cast really perform the characters, without the earlier movie decades ago, which a bit entertaining but not enough as a poem. This one is a poem.

Better watch it in cinema with superb sound, and with your beloved, over 50 years old who could appreciate the earned tears of life.

Help us reflect on why the historical wars still repeating.

The very realistic scenes, worth appreciating the modern machine learning aka be used in this art form, more details how they created a younger Jones could be found by online search.

Literature - the collective value of a new souls
25 June 2022
This is a literature in art form of movie. Why were we born? The profound question this is answering well.

In the context of the over-success of modern capitalistic market that never accounted the values of women giving births of the new souls, this van-travel of a few nearly strangers, open our hearts to reflect again.

WWI (human civilisation meaning)
2 January 2022
Around that times (ten years 1910-20): civilisation with advancing weapon technology of mass killings (eg guns, early rank and bomb) but without equally strong protection for soldier lives). So, the tragic scenes never in previous human wars happened in this times. Frontline soldiers were often ordered to move forward (human bodies to confront the first generation mass killing weapons).

The film in virtually one continuous camera shooting technique recorded the deeper souls of then soldiers.

26 November 2021
Between women the society often subtly shapes an conflicting views, and this movie is a like a literature helps us see the deeply better world.

Also the income inequality and social classes wouldn't always make the rich growing kids blessed, this shapes the better open questions for all to answer again.

Elderly sunshine

Using an entertaining way to look at a serious social issue which narrowly views the aging population as "problem"; this movie is like the "Departure" movie in Japan, but with realistic modern city context eg Hong Kong.

Why modern life at times would drive many normal persons crazy?
29 May 2020
If movie is the modern art form of literature, then this movie is a very caring literature. Why modern life at times would just drive many normal persons crazy?

Many thanks indeed to the writer, director, casts, production crew to try answering this question, with the bit of wisdom during a few dialogue with a little child. For example, the child said "My mother told me, today world, using our hands to work would not make money anymore (?)..."

Lost in love? Maybe this title would help
29 May 2020
When I was so young, I often lost the direction in love, or more precisely lost in without romantic man-woman love.

This kind of man-woman love to me is much harder than the molecular biology, chemistry, I could understand mRNA, the 4 bases in DNA, and how it expresses to various protein, etc., but I just didn't know the "love".

Fortunately, those wonderful Korea Movie creative talents, script writer, story writer, actors, actresses, director, and whole production crew, made this wonder "Crazy Waiting". In just 2 hours, it solved most of my questions about that kind of "man-woman" love.

Many thanks indeed. So, I supposed, if you happen to be at this moment "lost in love"? Hope this 2 hours would help you a bit. Blessing : )

If movie is modern art form of literature, "Contact" is a wonderful literature
28 May 2020
To me, Movie is the modern art form of literature. This wonderful movie "Contact" in just 2 hours, smoothly brings me to look at some important but often missed out "topics of life" and "life-long open questions". Such as "Is Science and Religion mutually exclusive?" "How science & technology are actually affecting the 3rd world, for better or for worst?". Hope you enjoy it too. PS I watched it in 1997 in a UK cinema. Then years later I bought the VCD in Hong Kong where I lived. Then next decade or so, I, at times, have re-watched it again every few years. To me, this is like a beautiful fictional book, a companion for life. My deept thanks to Carl and all production crew.

Modern ways of laughing at unequal world
14 February 2020
Subtle way weaving many problems of today's world into this modern comedy.

Problems eg income inequality; excessive power of less than 1% in population; lack of social mobility & justice even for white collar workers shrinking middle class; overly land driven capitalistic economy; and more.

Very smooth and natural flow of the plot, with both laughters (and some earned tears) in a good mix.

Taiwan's courage to touch on a tough real-life cruelness
6 November 2019
When traveling to Taiwan, I didn't think too much to pick this movie, just by its name. It is so different from my guess; yet I wouldn't watch if I knew the key topics the movie are about, as I thought those issues in hidden corners of everyday's life and in society will never be "solved". This movie wouldn't "solve" them either, but it did give me and other audience many better ways to look at it again. The movie has many "sad-laughters"; when life is at times ridiculous, those "unlucky" ones, as connected in the plot, just formed a beautiful sad yet full of life reflections. Don't want to spoil anyone not yet watch it. So, didn't write specific here.
