The Nightingale (2018)
This is a dark movie, not for everyone
I usually don't mind sexual violence or brutality in moves when it is done modestly. This movie goes all out. The poor woman is raped while her family is killed in front of her. I can't even fathom the trauma. In her shock and furu she goes out to hunt down the men who did this to her and she takes a black mans help because the native people know this land the best. This man has had his family killed in front of him too and his land taken. This is an absolutely brutal movie in every way. The actors, especially the main bad guy is so convincing it made my skin crawl. Such evil villains. I usually like it like that but this was almost too much. This villain is a complete psychopath, killing kids, raping women, treating people horribly. I hope history wasn't as bad as it is shown in this movie. There was so much racism and hatred and fear and dangers lurking around every corner. I am so glad to be living now and not then.for the type of movie and the script of what it is supposed to be it is perfectly executed. I just wish we would have seen the gifl kill the villain herself and slowly😂 that would have been a 10/10 for me.
Leo (2023)
Family loved it
So much better than we all thought. It's a silly animated musical with a lot of deep messages and humor. Not too childish, the whole family enjoyed this one. Probably one of the best netflix originals i've seen in a while. Would love a sequel for this. I wasn't bored at any point, perfect pacing. I liked most of the characters andxreleated a lot to their struggles and to the situations in the classroom. Lovely music also, there's a lot of singing and it's very varied and fun. This movie has a very unique concept and to put it from the point of view of the class pet Leo is a really good idea, it's fresh, it's new. Loved it.
The Wrath of Becky (2023)
Best movie ever I need another one
These are too short I want more villains I could watch a whole tv show about this girl she's so entertaining thank you for making this movie. I loved becky the first movie and now this one. Iloved seeing Stifler act a more serious role, he was fantastic as s villain. My only critique is I wish they killed another character first, they should have saved the guy who had his head blown off for the second last kill. Other than that this movie is amazing and I want more like it. Reminds me of deadpool a little, but more rage and gore. Lovely franschise. I could see a becky theme park hahah I want to be her for Halloween.
Sex Education: Episode 5 (2019)
Last scene broke me
One of the most touching episodes. An outfit that for one characger meant "you look fabulous" or "cute outfit" meant for another character to get assualted. These things are so important to see in media, well done! Also love that Jackson is getting a deeper character development, thought he'd be the stereotypical hot jock, but boy was I wrong. Also love that his moms are struggling, showing that ever couple has issues. Oh and I love how they brought up that you can take something meant to embarrass you and turn it. That last scene was hislrious as well as touching. Glad I gave this show a watch.
Boss Level (2020)
Great movie but...
I think they accidentally delted the last 15-30 minutes of the movie, because it really just ended. Like no nothing. No happy or sad ending, no conclusion, no explanation, du resolution. NO REWARD FOR WATCHING AND GETTING INVESTED.
Other than that, great film. Could have been greater if they had an actual ending.
Sweet Girl (2021)
What's with the bad reviews?
Did we watch the same movie? Loved the action, loved the acting, the twist, and plot, everything. The beginning was a little too long, which reduces my score. But 1? Seriously? That's exaggerating.
Outer Banks: Dead Calm (2020)
Wth
They try to sell the gold and doesn't think that that would raise suspicions? Also talk loudly about finding 400 million??? Never talk about such things in public or ever, use code words for everything, nicknames that only you know about. Also, Ward's suggestion of helping out, John should have taken the deal. Since John had saved Sarah and been good to her, I think he was still on Wards good side. And if I know anything about rich people, you always want to stay on their good side. He was living in that house, he could have been a kook with Sarah and all of his friends could have gotten a better life. I honestly believe Ward would have followed through that agreement, he's already rich for him it's more about finding the gold he's been look for for so long.
Outer Banks: Parcel 9 (2020)
I know it's a tv show
And they have to be stupid for more episodes to come. But had that been me? I'd get behind the old woman, grab her shotgun, tie her up or something (SHE IS BLIND CAN'T IDENTIFY YOU) and then spend all night extracting the gold. There five people, they could take turns going down the well. What I wouldn't do is shout about that gold, let the old woman know people had been there and then LEAVE???? I know it's a show but I'm still cheering for them and knowing what happens it just hurts. Lesson learned, if you ever find a treasure, don't leave without it.
Spiler alert: they make the same mistake in season 2, too.
Outer Banks: The Coastal Venture (2021)
Intense
This season was some how better than the first. I love the mystery, the intesity, the acting, the cinematoraphy, the writing. It's so unique and refreishing and I think I fell in love with like all of the main characters. Wow. Netflix, you really don't do it often but when you do it good you do it good. I NEED A SEASON 3 come on!!! Also, merch plz.
The Handmaid's Tale: The Wilderness (2021)
Not my favorite show but it's good
Here's what I would have changed. I know some of these things may have been due to corona restrictions but still.
1. No more close up shots of junes face please, unless it's for a purpose. Too many of them make them lose their edge. She's a good actress yes, we get it. Play around with different angles with the cameras.
2. I loved seeing her ptsd, dive into that more.
3. More side character action. The new young wife who is now a handmaid? Loooved that want to see more of that. Janine?? Give me more janine! And moira? What happened with her girlfriend? Did they have the fight? Dmily? How is she dealing with homelife? This show is so june focused and ever since she's become more and more unlikable i can't stand it.
4. Give june the ability to think LONG TERM. This woman never thinks about consequences, does she?
5. I would love to see what's going on in the rest of the world, I thought we'd get to see serena and fred maybe go to europe or something, what's going on ocer there? Or asia? Something!!
Yeah that's all i can think of for now. Good show, just now my favorite. I think mistly because I really dislike june, and now it seems like that want us too? But okay, if you're going to turn june into the villain, give us someone to cheer for. Like the pair up with june and janine, it was so good because june was nasty so we could cheer for janine. When june is just nasty alone there's no one to cheer for. Something to think about.
The Handmaid's Tale: Home (2021)
I wish there was more about Janine
I'd love to see her coping in one of those refugee camps or just something, anything! Also DID JUNE JUST RAPE LUKE???? What is going on.
Run Hide Fight (2020)
People are really spoiled nowaday
This is a good action movie about a schoolshooting. It has interesting characters and a good pace, was entertaining throughout. It's not a b-movie, it's nicely made and the actors are great. People seem so spoiled nowaday, expecting to have their minds blown by every movie. No this isn't a life changing movie, but it was entertaining for movie night. Would recommend!
Prisoners (2013)
Interesting movie
I really like this movie, only thing I don't like is the end. That we don't get to see the reunion of Keller and Anna, it's all we want watching the movie and they didn't give it to us. Other than that I really like the different mysteries solved and how everything and everyone was connected.
Tiny Pretty Things (2020)
Don't like the main character
Other than that, I liked it. The concept is great, a crime mystery set in a ballet school? Never seen that before. I like a lot of the characters, just not the main one. If bette had been the main character it would've been better, her story is far more interesting
The Craft: Legacy (2020)
Stop trying to make short hair on girls happen please
Captain marvel, black widow, it, divergent, seriously hollywood stop trying to make it happen. Oh and the movie? It was ok, but I didn't care about any of the characters, especially the lead.
Love and Monsters (2020)
Amazing acting
One of the best things about this movie is the characterization, man they did a great job. I mangaged to care about every single character in this movie, and that is so rare nowadays. It was belivable in the sense that the characters were all so human, the dialoge was great and so was the acting. I first saw Dylan O'briens acting in Teen Wolf, and since then I've wanted to see him get to use his talent. He was good in maze runner, and in american assasin, but here he SHINES. Every single muscle in his face just sells thw preformance to me, he is there, in a world of monsters. And that dog was really cute too. Only thing I wish it would've been longer and that we get to see more of minnow and the survivalist guy. It's not a mind blowing concept or something I will remember for the rest of my life, but it is a good friday night movie to watch with friends or family. I need a sequel.
Enola Holmes (2020)
Better than i thought
Better than I expected, I thought the "talking to the camera" parts were a bit unnecessary and unfitting for the type of movie though, but other than that I have no complaints . I like the characters and the story was intriguing.
Recess: King Gus (1997)
Good depiction of power madness
A really good depiction of how power goes to some peoples heads
13 Reasons Why: Graduation (2020)
No. Just no
That's not how you write a character arc! You don't make a character go through all that just to kille him off OUT OF NOWHERE. That's just poor writing. They really just wanted to stick the knife in our guts and twist it. It would have been fine to not kill off more characters, this series started depressing should have ended happy. Also, all that jessica and justin stuff for ONE DANCE? Really? He even made it into collage. GOSH YOU SUCK WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS KILL OFF ANI OR SOMEONE INSTEAD I HATE THAT GIRL
Teen Wolf (2011)
Nostalgic
This was THE show when I was in high school. Seasons 1-2 are teen friendly, then it gets really dark and scary. Even now, as an adult, I have to look away for some parts. The second half of season 3, and the second half of season 6 are amazing, because they are centered around stiles. The best character hands down. Season 4-5 were unwatchable. I did watch it all due to stiles though. I wish they had skipped the part where he gets together with malia. He and lydia have chemistry al through the seasons, it bugs me they got together at the last second of season 6. They should have gotten in a relationship at the end of season 3, to be honest. I also love lydia obviously. Another fault they made was killing allison.
Men in Black: International (2019)
Feminism is ruining movies
When movies try to appeal to everyone, this happens. A-list cast and high budget and still fails? I didn't laugh once, not even a little. It was BORING. Also, I feel like they tried to make tessa "uglier" and more feminist for some reason, I lived her in Thor ragnarok. I don't get who this was made for, kids? There is no blood, no scary scenes, no sad scenes, no sex, no violence even. I don't get it I thought hollywood learned from their mistakes and yet they keep doing this same mistake over and over again. I wasn't on the edge of my seat for this movie. Even started doing other things while watching. Stop making movies so pc is ruins everything!!!!!!! More movies like deadpool and joker please
Unorthodox (2020)
Wouldn't watch if I knew there's no ending!!
Open ending perfectly set up for a second season? But no, netflix just loves pulling this "mini-series" crap on us. I feel like I completely wasted my time. No climax, no closure. Don't watch it
Never Have I Ever (2020)
A bit too pg13 but good
I think I'm a bit too used to the more non-kid friendly shows like breaking bad and game of thrones, because this was a little to mellow for me. This gives me a disney vibe, no nudity, no sex, no foul language. Would highly recommend for tweens and maybe ever teens but for adults it might be too mild😅 However, it's a good show with good actors and a heart touching story, I will still watch a second season 👍🏼
Dare Me (2019)
Great teen drama!
Deals with issues in teenhood and cheerleading, loved it. Real characters, great story.
The Hunt (2020)
Make up you own opinions about this one
This is a great movie that shows what happens when people go to far with their ideologies. I think half of the people who watch this movie don't enjoy it because it pokes fun at them and portrays people that they probably identify with as the villains. Just a perfect show of some peoples hypocrazy. You think i'm the bad guy? Yeah then I will BE THE BAD GUY. Gory, fun and fresh. Liked it.
