Star Trek: Picard (2020–2023)
8/10
I liked it and I want to see more
23 January 2020
I thought it would be worse. And surprisingly I liked it.

It doesn't mean this series will please everyone, it won't.

Hatebots are not going to like some characters. Many Trek purists will not like this series because it is not a carbon copy of the Berman era.

But Patrick Stweart is great, as old man Picard. It doesn't look fake, or an unrealistic Kitsch copy of the past. The plot of the androids is not an innovative story. But it is at least in the first episode well executed. I was interested in knowing more, and wishing to Binge Watch the entire season

Negative points, for me. I haven't quite figured out those Jean-Luc flashbacks\visions yet. I think the moments between drama and action should be more fluid and less abrupt.

For now the verdict is, I liked it and I want to see more.

A movie that is as stupid and fun as the Return of the Jedi.
22 December 2019
Lets face it, except for the first two films in this franchise (New Hope, Empire Strikes Back), which struck a good balance between fantasy and realism. Since the Return of the Jedi, all logic has been thrown out the window to repeat the same formula and please fans who want to see the same thing in every movie. And with each copy, the quality gets worse

And this movie is the culmination of this need to serve these same fans, to make them happy to buy many products of this brand

JJ had already given a signal that we wouldn't see anything new in this third triology with force awakens. And when Rian Jhonson tried to do something new, the reactions were not very pleasant.

And just like the prequels, there is an interesting story of redemption, which is drowned out by this constant need to serve a movie to thousands of fans and consumers who want to see the same mediocrity repeated over and over again.

And for all that, The Rise of Skywalker is a stupid but fun movie. Without a consistent narrative, but with excellent visual effects. Good actors, but with a messy and cringe script.

Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker It's watchable, but it has no magic beyond the manufactured nostalgia that money can buy. It is simply, just more of the same.

I give this movie a seven in ten.

The Witcher (2019– )
7/10
I have some bad news for some people: It's not the new Got. And that's fine.
20 December 2019
The good news: Despite some strange contours, overall it's a good production. The series gets better over time and is not boring. Henry Cavill is a decent Geralt. But personally, I think Anya Chalotra makes a great Yennefer. If you like medieval fantasies, action, drama, some comedy. It's really worth seeing this series. I give 7.5 out of 10.

Carnival Row (2019–2023)

Probably the most immersive steampunk fantasy on the screen.
30 August 2019
I don't know what the professional critics had against this series. The production values are fabulous, the world building is impressive, the acting is decent, the story is interesting.

Like Game Of Thrones, it's a fantasy series, grounded in reality. Although the scenario is more Steampunk. With violence, nudity, intrigue, blasphemies, etc.

At the heart of the series are serious topics such as refugees\migration. Perhaps critics didn't like the way this topic was handled. But as far as I'm concerned, I'm enjoying it. I give 8 stars out of 10.
