Blackout (2021)
Vaguely based on the novel by Marc Elsberg
Once you have accepted it's not following the storyline of the book it is actually a pretty good suspenseful mini series. A tech guy finds out one of the reason for a major blackout in Europe. Due to his shady past he becomes soon the main suspect behind a terroristic attack. He on the run tries himself to find out who is behind this all. Besides that main line we are seeing how the German government, German state police, Europol and others are handling the situation. There is a side story line about two young girls been missing and happening to be the daughters of the catastrophe responsible from the German government. All in all compared to the book, the series sacrificed plausibility to emotionallity and thrills.
Fatherhood (2021)
Comedy?
How come this movie is supposed to be a comedy? Because Kevin Hart is playing in it? How sick can the world be? It can only be a rassissct sentiment. And why do I have to write such a simple criticism. It's just ridiculous and yet I have to write more. Yes it's a simple story, heading for your low feelings. But Kevin Hart is playing very well. Other actors in a week year would have got an Ocsar for this very acted role - one might admit - hence what is the difference between former acting awards. Meryl Streep beg my bloody pardon. The Gladiator actor - Australian I believe - not really. What else should one write? Really a Comedy, not really!??
West Side Story (2021)
Needless remake of a classic
Not modern enough to appeal to young viewers, not soulful enough to appeal to old people. Don't see any reason why Steven Spielberg thought he should have made a remake of this movie. What's next? Gone With The Wind?
Man in Room 301 (2019)
Entertaining Crime Mistery Series from Finland 🇫🇮
Actually a very entertaining crime mini series from Finland. Using influences from Horror and Mistery flics. Great acted and even though foreseeable after episode 3, still interesting and humorous caretking.
The Killing Jar (2010)
Absolutely underestimated movie gem
A coffee shop / steak house (or shall I call it haberdashery?) at Silver Lake. A bunch of random people stuck in there with a lonesome lunatic played by Steve Madsen. A "Mr Green" is later coming in to pay off a terrible crime by a Mr Smith. Hence while the lunatic tries to get some light into the mess, he shoots dead a local guy (actor's name GAGE). If not all viewers movie nerds should be delighted.
The Captive (2014)
Lynchesque
The story is both quite forward and get more and more confusing. Reminds by the story building part a lot of David Lynch, the atmosphere is then still Atom Egoyan.
