My Brother the Time Traveler (2017)
Jolly good time
Take a shot of eggnog, grab a pint of hot chocolate, and kick back with this quirky bit of Christmas comedy. We probably laughed a bit too much at this film, and that is a good thing. It's light hearted, has a couple solid twists, and was an overall enjoyable experience. The end credit scene was legit, also. Boom.
War on Everyone (2016)
Weird movie.
This is a weird one.
Timing is weird. Characters are weird. Lines are quotable.
"What chair?"
*thumbs up*
The Last Post (2017)
Dude.
Thought this looked lame.
Literally didn't watch it right away until I was bored.
I was wrong. It was a solid view.
It had a "Stranger Things" vibe (purely because of the background music/tone/tension).
And that tone/tension lasted throughout the season.
Bravo, Amazon. Bravo, indeed.
The Big Sick (2017)
Good stuff.
Definitely worth watching. Solid all-around comedy that pulls at the heartstrings.
I Can Only Imagine (2018)
Dude, it's a solid movie about a musician.
True story about a kid who regularly got beat by his dad, was ditched by his mom, and went on to a successful career as a Christian musician.
Overall, it's not just about faith, it's about the power of music... and that is something that anyone who has ever found solace in any song can relate to.
Solid acting, soundtrack, and message.
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017)
Fun movie with lots of entertainment value.
8/10 because of its simply satisfying entertainment value. Sure, the hero's both look like they're twelve and could possibly be siblings... but it was a fun movie. That's what really counts. Besides, I kept thinking, "This is like the 5th Element meets Star Wars meets Avatar meets John Wick." And I'm a fan of all of those movies.
Solid pacing throughout. Solid banter and wise-cracking, also. Ethan Hawke's cameo cracked me up. Clive Owen was a solid bad dude.
Bravo.
