Azul y no tan rosa (2012)
Simply beautiful
The director managed to use the camera to capture a true picture of the current venezuelan society discrimination to minorities, not exclusively sexual.
Being a movie that depicts the medium class in the venezuelan country, also imprints the idiosyncratic attitude: excess, lack of responsibility, the need for a better future and the absence of opportunities in the country, the violence and the impotence against the injustice, the love and the prejudice, the blood ties that grows stronger no matter the distances.
It's a film that has both a marvelous artistic touch and a protest underlying in the plot, that thickens as unravel while the movie goes on. By the end of the film, you'll find yourself attached to the characters stories: feeling them as your friends, suffering their tragedy and rejoicing in their destiny.
Elegant, made with care to the detail and inspiring.
Elipsis (2006)
An Impressive Movie
This should be one of the best movies ever made in Venezuela.
You can see traces of Christopher Nolan's all over the movie. In every cut, every shoot, every take. This should be considered as a worship for Memento. No doubt about it.
If you liked Memento, then you will find Ellipsis quite amusing. Although it has the same "movie elements", it's a completely different the story line. And contains good fun moments with a witty humor rarely seeing in a venezuelan movie. And for the first time, there is no nudity! Way to go.
There is drama, action, an impressive performance from the actors. You change your expectation every five minutes. It has an excellent story and excellent direction. And the end... you just have to see it by yourself.
The Ring Two (2005)
Not a Bad movie at all
When I saw the first movie the very first and only time, it was a midnight function and with a very "horror" oriented crowd. When I leaved the theater it was 2 am, and the parking lot so lone
I swear that if a little kid showed up I would definitely ran over it.
And when the sequel started to appear in the ads, I was one of the first into get people interested to go and watch it. I had high hopes but as a movie fan I knew that hopes can get a movie spoiled. So I took it easy and pretended that it was just another horror movie.
It was a nice well-implemented horror movie. Yes, it wasn't an excellent horror movie, that is a fact, but it was in deed a nice movie with the traditional "ring" camera panning and everything. The only part that wasn't quite good was the related to the Bambi family (you'll understand if you see the movie): too digitally oriented. And.. what the f*** happened there? In the first movie didn't mention anything regarding some deal with those crazy deers. For the rest, the water falling UP! Damn!!! that was great.
Definitely a must see movie.
