Roooar!!
22 August 2013
What would we do without Pixar? They always find a way to make the colors a little bit brighter, the laughter a little bit louder and the heart a little bit warmer. This movie is no exception. Monsters University delivers all those elements and more.

Mike's biggest goal is to become a scarer, he works harder than anyone to make that happen. And you really feel for the little guy, he does his very best. He is bold and has no doubt that he will make it, being that goal oriented, he doesn't seem to see what others see - the fact that he is not scary at all. It sucks, and you cheer for him all the way, you really, really want him to become the greatest scarer of all time!

This prequel is one of the good ones, and you don't have to see Monsters Inc. to enjoy this movie, it's fun and highly entertaining. I gave it a seven because it's hard to rank animation movies any higher, it would have to be as impressive as when Finding Nemo first came out. But I liked this movie, it had quality in many ways; script, scenes, characters etc.

Get yourself a giant bucket of ice cream, put on your softest clothes, crawl under the blankets and press play... Oooor, invite friends and have a laugh together! Either way - I think you'll like it.

Larger than life!
5 August 2013
This documentary ripped my heart out, stomped on it, glued it back together, put it back in, made it beat again - and Then did that whole procedure all over again! Its raw, its real and its larger than life.

Sometimes you come across stories that touches you beyond belief, although you are just an observer you cry and laugh like you yourself is the one going through what you are watching. I love Bobby Liebling now for giving me perspective and strength!

At first I was skeptical because I'm not a big rock-fan, but from the very beginning I understood that it was going to be much more than just a music-documentary. In fact, even though the music is the fundamental reason it was made in the first place that is not what moves you or what makes your lips tremble and your skin crawl all at ones.

Bobby Liebling has lived in the basement of his parents house for decades. With everyday sitting on his couch either with a crack-pipe in his mouth or a needle in his arm. He believes that termites live underneath his skin and daily he wants to do nothing other than to die. Already this is heartbreaking and you really feel for the sorry bastard. But the fact that at one on point in his life he could have become one of the greats in the rockworld, with his unique voice, understanding for the music genre, with his unbelievable performances on stage and his dedication to rock it only makes it that much sadder.

We follow Bobby and his friends who are trying to assemble this broken man to make a new album and with that some sort of comeback. And while this seems like a mission impossible, Bobby really is trying his best to cut the album, but with many setbacks and the fact that Bobby is a junkie, all of everybody's efforts may fall through. But life is full of surprises and sometimes even in the darkest places a little ray of beautiful shining light makes it's way through.

This documentary makes you think and reflect on life and how precious and fragile it is. It awakes sympathy and love for people around you. And at least for me it reminded me about the fact to continue to not judge and look down on anybody, because you never know their story and what makes them do what they do.

Watch this documentary, it is one of the best!

Great entertainment!
27 July 2013
Many people compare this movie to Battle Royal, I am not going to. I like this movie for what it is in itself. It's dark, it's exciting and it's breathtaking.

Katniss Everdeen is trying to survive a life of poverty in District twelve. She lives there with her little sister and mother struggling to be the breadwinner in the family when the worst thing that could happen, happens - her sister is being randomly picked to fight till death in the 74. annual Hunger Games, a game of which only one out of 24 young kids can survive. She enters the games and from there on out it really is "game on".

This move is critical to our society, were we use and abuse the less fortunate to be able to live our luxury lives in the western, modern world. And if your thoughts about that subject reaches further down than a thimble you will also see that connection.

I like the way they have portrayed The Capitol (the city that runs everything), it is a superficial world where appearance is on top of the list. There are a few sci-fi elements, and that is because the filmmakers wants to make a point out of the fact that this is a setting in the near future. Some of the scenes are majestic, and makes you hold your breath. The cast is very good, although I hope I get to see Jennifer Lawrence, who plays Katniss, relaxes into her role a bit more in the sequel. And that is also why I gave 7 out of 10. It could have been and eight if she was a little better at portraying Katniss Everdeen, but in that case it really helps that the very talented Woody Harrelson plays one of the characters closest to Katniss as her coach.

All in all, it's great entertainment on a Saturday night tucked under the blankets with some chips and coke to nibble and sip on. Enjoy!

Orange Is the New Black (2013–2019)

Finally a series on women in prison, and it's really good too.
25 July 2013
This is a series which really will make you feel everything. It's deep, funny, sad, cool, crazy and everything in between. Not only are the characters on point, but the whole setting around them has a real ring of authenticity.

The main character Piper, has gone to prison for something she did when she was young, cute and coy she enters the prison with no clue of what is waiting inside. She quickly is thrown into "typical" prison-drama and it just spirals from there.

I liked this series mainly because of the characters - you have the cook who runs everything, the crazy people who really makes your skin crawl, the asshole guard and the fat lesbian. The woman playing Piper is perfect in her role, and she really is the cherry on top. It is a real insight in human behavior and also the nature of women cramped together in one tight space.

Thumbs up for Orange is the new black, don't hesitate to watch this series!

Untouchable!
25 July 2013
This movie is kinda like your first love, you will never forget it or what it gave you, and when you realize it's over you just sit there numb and full of emotions, unable to actually fathom what just happened.

I have rarely laughed so wholeheartedly or with my soul as much as I did when I watched this masterpiece of a movie. There are few characters, and the main focus are on two men, who very obviously come from two different life's and struggles, but develops a friendship I have never seen anything like on a movie screen. I almost have trouble describing what this beautiful story does to you. You feel like you wanna run down to the streets and hug a stranger and let them know that whatever they are facing in life that it's gonna be okey.

The reason i LOVE this movie is because of the story and the people portraying the main characters. They have really done an excellent job both on the cast and the script. You can relate to the characters, they suck you in and you have no other option but to listen and laugh(and cry)with them. The story is unique and original, it touches you in ways you didn't think possible. Don't mistake this movie for a sob-story because it's anything but.

If you haven't seen it, and think for a second you are not going to either - well then, the jokes on you. Because it doesn't matter where you are, who you are or what kind of situation you are in, it will bring light and love right smack into your little beating bloodbox.
