The Great Muppet Caper (1981)
Disappointing
I remembered seeing this movie when I was much younger. I thought I had liked it. Recently I picked up a copy of the Great Muppet Caper because I was curious to see what I had enjoyed about it. Also, because I remember the man who played the brother was my first object of sexual attraction. After viewing the film once more I was disappointed at best; the musical numbers were basically crap as was the script. I realize that this is a children's film but still make a little effort.
There were a few good sequences which I did enjoy but other than that it wasn't a good film. So it gets 3 out of 10 stars, though I might be biased due to ruining a good memory.
The Specials (2000)
Excellent!
This was such an incredible film. The cast was incredible, several people who I hadn't heard of before and several people who are very good actors. The movie is basically a spoof on the hero films of yore but add in a lot less actions and a good deal more curse words. The acting is superb and it's as if the actors were made for these roles. I definitely recommend seeing it! The humor definitely isn't main stream and is more subtle, but if you like that sort of thing or are a fan of any member of the cast then SEE THIS MOVIE! I'd recommend viewing the DVD because the commentary by James Gunn and the producers is hilarious.
The Source (2001)
Don't Bother!
Don't bother getting this movie, it's utterly pointless. The only reason I got it was because it had David Anders who plays Mr. Julian Sark on Alias. He isn't in the movie for more than 5 minutes, and that's 5 minutes in several different scenes. The movie's main concept is that a group of 4 teenage outcasts; Reese (Goth Boy), Zach (Rich nerd), Ashley (Rich nerd's slut sister who is secretly rotten to the core or "the source"), and Phoebe (flower child reject.) Is it just me or all flowery children named Phoebe? Nevermind. Anyways, they get a little power hungry and Ashley goes ape, turning the school into an evil nightmarish hell zone where the reject teenage outcast's former tormentors become her sex slaves. So I guess it's all yay in Ashley's view but not very fun for everyone else.
For everyone who is seeing this for David Anders and I assume the majority of you are then...He plays Boogi (aptly named so too) who basically walks around and leers in the background wearing funny trousers. He DOES have a few minutes of interview time on the DVD but it is so NOT WORTH IT. Don't bother.
There are a few disturbing sequences where Reese has dreams about blood in the bathroom and we see that his mom slit her wrists in the bathroom.
So yeah, don't bother. BAD SCI-FI effects warning too.

Bug (2002)
Very Good Movie: SPOILERS!
This was a very entertaining movie and I really enjoyed it, I don't normally rent movies like these (ie. indie flicks) however, I was attracted to the film because it had an incredible cast which included Jamie Kennedy, whom I have loved since the Scream trilogy. The movie director took a risk (and it is a risky risk) in telling the lives of many (and I mean MANY) different people and having the intertwine at various intervals. Taking that risk was a good idea because it's end result is an exceedingly good film.
The film has a few MAIN characters; Dwight (Jamie Kennedy) - a disgruntled fortune cookie writer whose relationship with his girlfriend is on the rocks because of an argument. Wallace Gregory (John Carroll Lynch) - an airplane loader/technician who has a love for all living things (except, perhaps meter maids) and who despite his good heart has an increasing amount of bad luck. Cyr (Brian Cox) - the owner of a Chinese restaurant/donut shop who is a germaphobe and because of is his fear of germs places his assistant/cook Sung -(Alexis Cruz) under pressure to keep up with his phobia. Ernie - (Christopher Bauer) is married to Olive - (Christina Kirk) who he is convinced is trying to; stop him have fun, look ridiculous, go insane, and not live a normal life. They begin to have petty and almost crazy arguments and Olive seriously begins to have doubts about Ernie. Gordon - (Grant Heslov) is a man whose life isn't going very well, as bad things begin to add up in his life he decides to take it in hand. Mitchel - (Jon Huertas) is convinced that Gwen - (Alexandra Westcourt) is the girl of his dreams and that they are destined for each other, though she is more skeptical. He attempts to woo her every chance he gets and he certainly makes attempts! Johnston - (Michael Hitchcock) has just been fired from his job and has doubts about his role as provider, he takes another job that he just isn't suited for. His wife Annelle - (Arabella Field) is comforting through out his job loss experience until she learns that Johnston wasn't quite the loving husband she thought he was.
All in all I definitely suggest this movie!
