A first class awful movie
2 April 2006
It's a movie that reminds Romanian people why they shot Ceausescu and his wife. Awful is too little, they have to store such "creations" in the anti communism museum. While people starved in cold houses with no electricity, the Communist propaganda tried to show that the youngsters are building a happy working class era. Bleah ... Romanian cinematography has over 600 titles from 1957 since today. Sadly, only 30 can make us proud.

In the same category with "In fiecare zi ma gandesc la tine" : "Un suras in plina vara" ; "Triunghuil mortii" ; "Liliacul inflorescent a DOA Ora", a movie that was directed by the actual principal of Romanian Film Academy - Cristina Nichitus; "Hanul dint re dealuri"; "Grabeste-te inset"; "Fata Morgana"; "Eu Tue Si Ovidiu"; "Vin cyclists" ... etc Avoid those movies, it's pure junk.

well ...

I totally agree with bob the moo. The directing style reminded me of Lucian Pintilie and his "Reconstituirea", made in the same period of time. I guess that in the '60 (u can see that in the good movies from that period, an example - Knife in the Water by Polanski - there is an atmosphere typically in those films. The "Concert..." is very well shot, has a nice end but it doesn't say a thing. I liked the grotesque characters in the bus, the idiot with the ball, the driver, the cheap young girls. I d'ont understand why the boy let the girl to leave with the guys from the bus. For a tent that he didn't want back in the first place ? For the identity card ?

Maybe more comments ?

They live
25 December 2004
Great movie, i don't have enough words to say more. Those guys are my neighbours. The movie was shot in the small village of Cretulesti, two km away from my house. I know them, i lived among them, and yes , many of them are like in the movie. They live. The majority of the "white" population is discriminating them , considering that they are a inferior race. They have their guilt, but the government is doing nothing to change this situation. Comparing to this, Kusturica's movies are like little kittens. Tony Gatlif is a great story teller, with clean directing skills. This movie "hunted" me for a several days, i can't get enough of it. Despite their lack of mood for working, the gypsies are the greatest singers in the world. 10/10
