No depth

The characters have no depth. I just watched the movie Joker could take a few pointers from that. The ending just came to easy. Also why is it when they have a character who is struggling have a luxury apartment? Am I missing something?

Gas project zero problem solved. This started really well and then it started to drag and then the crunch came where it really let itself down. it was totally obvious what to do.

How effective is the news?

Does democracy work in the US? Everyone knew it was a bad idea. UN said they hadn't found anything. A majority of the world saw it as an invasion. Yet the administration so blatantly said screw you all we are going to war. It just shows even when a newspaper produces the truth, good journalism, does it actually have an impact?

Travelers (2016–2018)

Was so promising
25 November 2016
Personally I don't like time travel series as it is so easy to get it wrong. Any change made in the past of course can make a huge change to the future. The butterfly effect. So jumping around in time can really mess things up and makes it impossible to follow. So the one thing I enjoyed about the first episode it didn't do this. Well it was only really introducing the characters I guess. In speaking of the characters I really thought they were engaging. I like that it brought a variety of characters. The secret to a successful show. I mean look at how Firefly did it.

I was really enjoying this show and had huge hopes, for once I actually might enjoy a time travel series. But then the deal breaker. To be fair I usually give a show a chance like The Wire. I thought man not another cop show but wow after the second or third episode I was majorly hooked. However, for Travelers the contradiction was so huge that it ruined the premise for the enter series. Once there is a huge hole in the plot its just too hard to ignore to continue. If the travelers knew they were coming and created the event to happen this only means they can't change time, they can't change the future!! Because of this I was going to give this a two but I did like the characters so gave it a four but unfortunately that's it for this series. Done in one episode.

Keep watching
18 November 2016
This my first review only because I read two bad reviews and feel it may not have given it real justice. They say it is predictable, uninspiring, trying to be something original. That being said it is probably true to a degree but you have to keep watching. At first all these things are presented too show the facade of what we already know - the scandals - but it fades and introduces new questions. For someone who bores at the fact of church going this was rather intriguing. Jude Law is great as the young American pope. I feel he plays with the subtle conflicts so well; vanity, power, pious yet struggles, scathing but is a visionary.

It does offer itself in the end a nice change to what is already out there. Refreshing that is isn't another zombie, crime, legal, quirky comedy or supernatural or super powers, or medieval bloody TV series.

I'm worried for Star Wars
9 June 2013
I think the people who liked it, liked it for the action. If you like special effects high paced action then this is the film to watch but...

I can understand how Star Trek fans would be disappointed if they were expecting an intellectual film. I enjoyed the previous Star Trek films as they were more haunting and always made you think. What would you say if you came across alien life species or a hostile race where if the wrong words were said you would be toast in a split second? The dialogue just didn't have enough weight. Past films were more about the monologues and the mystery rather than the action.

Also there were just too many scenes that were too unrealistic given the time. All you have to do is look at how things would unfold today to see how far off the mark of how it would happen then.

I feel JJ Abrams just didn't put any thought into this as it does not follow the context of Star Trek or how the future would look. It was like a country western film rather than a true sci-fi. I'm hoping he will not mess up the beloved cult Star Wars.
