My Dad's Christmas Date (2020)
Funny then Thought provoking and emotional
I'm shocked some people have guven bad reviews.. Thise that have clearly cannot see the story beneath in this film. I found it hilarious at points and heartbreaking at others. I wish it was on for longer. There is such a deep story to this film that it would be good as a drama series. Acting was amazing from both main characters.
Criminal Minds: Lockdown (2015)
Quite a trauma
No, I really found this hard to rate. It IS a good espisode. However, as a person who worked in the prison system for 10 years with some of my country's most dangerous prisoners I found it quite traumatising. I also found the behaviours of the prisoners 'when given the chance' to be unlikely in my experience. I'm not sure what the American system is like but jeezo... It seems messed up. Can't say much more than that to be honest.
Criminal Minds: Route 66 (2013)
One word... Crying!!
There is not much more I can say than this episode really tugged at my heart strings.. From Hotch collapsing then Hotch and his dead wife, to the father and daughter torn apart at the end due to the father's crimes. Someone give me a hug 😭. Very emotive 💔
To Love, Honor and Deceive (1996)
Shifting emotions
I started out thinking this was going to be suspense filled and full of heart wrenching moments. However, the main character (Vanessa Marcil) seemed to go from being a loving wife who adored her husband to a woman that could care less he was gone... Even before she knew of hs deceit. She quickly jumped into a relationship with the detective. Like what?!?! She DID NOT do well to portray a mother who's son was missing/dead. There was no raw emotion to be seen anywhere. The only good acting came from Thomas Gibson as Matthew Carpenter. His acting showed feeling towards his son. You could imagine the relationship. Sadly, the writer did not see the benefit to having more scenes with Thomas Gibson. Had they done, then there may have been more realism to the story line.
The Inheritance (1997)
Smooth and elegant.
I really enjoy period dramas but they can often be quite 'bitty'. However, the inheritance provided a smooth journey through the story. Thomas Gibson acted with gentlemanly elegance throughout. It flowed with ease and was pleasing to watch. To me, the story highlighted the importance of love over material. This was good particularly with how people valued class over others back then. It was so good that I could watch it again.
