White Men Can't Jump (2023)
It's bad in every way imaginable.
It was horrendous. It made no sense, nothing tied together, nothing fleshed out or resolved, it wasn't funny, it was entirely too serious and the acting was some of the worst I've ever seen. Jack just doesn't have it and this never should have been released anywhere. It was bad even for Hulu. I can't even begin to understand the casting here. Instead of Rosie we got random hot chick with 0 personality. Instead of Woody we got random generic guy who can't act. Instead of. Wesley Snipes we get random angry guy with no depth. This movie has 0 flavor. I stopped paying attention at least 5 times and eventually just turned it off, it wasn't worth finishing. Whoever wrote this needs to never write another script. You should be selling soap door to door instead.
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
Real Title "Star Wars The Abandoned Skywalker Legacy"
This movie is like your new girlfriend who is trying really hard to look like your ex-girlfriend only you don't know what her motivation behind that is.
This isn't a continuation of the Skywalkers or the Star Wars we all know this is something else using old characters to launch a new story with no direction and a zillion different plots..
Fantastic Four (2015)
Just don't bother
If I could find something positive to say I would. I can't so I won't. Rather, let's use this space to serve as a public service announcement: DO NOT GO SEE THIS MOVIE. SAVE YOUR MONEY.
There just are no adequate words in the human language for how terrible and time wasting this film (if you can call it that) actually is.
I watched it....why did I not listen....
GIVE ME THAT HOUR AND A HALF OF MY LIFE BACK!
PS: You can thank me later for not wasting any of your time by giving you reasons not to watch this movie or describing how crappy it really is. You'd never get those precious moments of your life back either.
Fury (2014)
A pointless movie in it's entirety.
While it was well acted, filmed etc....there just wasn't any real point or entertainment value to this movie. We get it, war is bad. There's more than enough movies that make this point while still managing to possess some element of entertainment value.
I get what they were trying to accomplish with the guys recalling their past acts of war....but it just didn't really fit into the scene to justify the argument that they shouldn't be playing house. The delivery just fell short and it didn't really connect.
It would have made more sense to use that scene to portray these pawns of war trying desperately to find some sort of normalcy if even for a brief few minutes.
The missions were random, the battles random, the entire movie was just pointlessly random. Very little character development, no real underlying story, just a random tank crew showing you how bad war is and really failing to be as hard and as cold as it was intended to be.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)
Save your money
The movie starts with promise and quickly descends into failure. The characters were underdeveloped, the story was disjointed, and our web- head spent the majority of the movie stalking his love interest.
Electro gets his name and a nice pretty suit out of nowhere just like Peter's friendship with Harry. The dots in this story weren't connected by any means of the imagination.
This movie feels like a crappier version of Raimi's Spider-Man 3 re- visited: One cool villain with great cgi, and the rest just sort of rushed and tossed in, (instead of a Crappy whiney Venom we got a crappy cartoony Rhino) thus overloading our hero's plate and our mind's eye.
Once again Oscorp is at the center of our movie world and this apparently will be the continuing theme in this franchise, moving further and further away from comic canon.
Most of what you saw in the trailers misleads the direction of the entire film, many scenes didn't even make the final cut. Basically if you saw the right trailer, you've seen the end.
Star Trek Into Darkness (2013)
A return to familiar characters.
Finally Abrams has tied in his reboot with the original characters. This alone made the movie great.
As a fan of all the actors I was really underwhelmed by the likeness in the previous movie to the characters' personalities. It was like a complete reinvention of the characters.
THIS MOVE CORRECTED THAT MISTAKE!!!!! Finally Abrams had his actors acting like the original characters, save for Chekov. He still has a bit to go to capture that character.
Self entitled little kids are going to whine and complain for instant gratification, but that doesn't change that this was a masterpiece for the series. It completely rewrote the original sequel while maintaining some of its integrity.
I face palmed at some of what I thought was leading up to rehashed scenes from the sequel only to be surprised again and again.
No true Trekkie will dislike this film, only those falsely claiming to be Trekkies. My dad and I were quite entertained and can't wait for the next installment. Given the past failures of the Next Generation movies, that's saying a lot for a couple of old die hard fans.
The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
Crap Fest
First, this movie should have never been made. It was horrid. About 1/4 way through the movie I started realizing I was watching a mixture of the original made for TV movie Spider-man and the 1st Toby McGuire Spider-man. This movie was NOT darker or grittier regardless of what the teens are saying. this movie wouldn't know depth or complexity if it were a combination of War & Peace, Bethoven's 5th and the contemplations of Socrates multiplied by Freud's mother and factored by the theory of relativity and then divided by quantum mechanics.
Second, The whole Uncle Ben dying scene was crappy. It was a lame half butt attempt at re-capturing the effect Raimi's had in the McGuire Spider-man. They even ripped off a line from Raimi as the thief ran away and only change done word. Not my problem became Not my policy. Real creative.
Third, the chemistry between Stone and Garfield sucked. The two of them dating in real life does NOT translate well on screen and as an added bonus Stone does not translate well as a blonde. It just doesn't work for her. The romance is rushed over 3 scenes and goes that fast from non existent and seemingly Flash's girl to all of a sudden in love with Peter.
Fourth, The lizard was horrible in graphic depiction. Why did we go back to early 90's effects for this? Why bother to show the start of henchmen only to never revisit them at all or even use them?
Fifth, Garfield suck as Spider-man, he does mildly OK as Peter Parker. They even hammed up the New York behind Spidey scene by having him swing down the street using cranes that lined up just for that purpose. It was lame, shoddy camera work and poor execution. It came across goofy.
Sixth, the suit sucked, the concept of the web was stolen from the original TV Spider-man, the spider s ymbol stolen from Marvel's depiction of Miguel O'hara as sSidey of the future and in this movie was actually done worse by combining the past and the future elements. Peter Parker was a science geek not an electronics guru. (not to mention I hate the entire concept of web technology on his wrists. Spidey need smore web than those thing scan ever produce.)
Seventh, what nerd uses Bing for a search engine? That wasn't even mildly believable.
Eighth, the development of the character was crap. He comes off as cocky and arrogant and thoughtless. This wasn't a hero, this was a punk.
Ninth, Harry. Nuff said.
Tenth. If you make a sequel to this piece of filth I sincerely hope it tanks. This film was utterly craptastic.
NCIS (2011)
Worst TV series video game ever made.
The game is built on old frame work, with shoddy rendering, still story boards, robotic character model movement and horrible voice acting, save for the appearance of Ducky himself and of course a cameo from Anthony DiNozzo Sr's portrayer, Robert Wagner. The voice actors used for Tony, Mcgee and Abby aren't too bad. From time to time Abby sounds almost 12. On the other hand voices for Gibbs and Ziva are simply horrid. The voice over for Gibbs almost sounds like a cross between Columbo and the late Phil Hartman. If you can take a couple hours of a voice actor over enunciating every single word he utters, maybe you'll like the higher pitched nasally Gibbs. The character models are laughable with only a few actually resembling the actual actors. DiNozzo's character model actually looks like Tim Dekay's Agent Peter Burke of the USA series White Collar. Abby looks like a cross between Abby and a troll. Mcgee seems to have the mange, missing tufts of hair. While you do get to play around with different equipment, it essential boils down to walking around taking photocraps of every single bit of evidence and then using said photocraps to build your case. Even analyzing evidence draws directly from these photocraps. The game is overly simplistic, put together with zero effort, zero talent and looks like an unfinished project that shouldn't have been released. The over use of hand drawn stills versus animation really killed the experience most of all. The evidence board where you make connections between multiple pieces of evidence is laughable. The most logical associations (which are incorrect choices) cost you a Caf-Pow, while the correct associations are a real stretch and a complete guessing game. There's simply no logic to this portion of the game. Through the entire beta experience all I wanted to do was shoot Gibbs so I didn't have to hear his annoying voice anymore. Ziva would have beat the programmers, voice actors, and developers to death with the game packaging and perhaps slit their throats with the disc. This piece of crap looks like a game that was made over 10 years ago. DON'T BUY!!!! You'll be hugely disappointed even if you're a die hard fan like myself. If you ordered, demand your money back!
The Losers (2010)
A-Team Rip Off
I liked the movie, it was entertaining and kind of had that Ocean's 11/ The Italian Job feel to it at first but then I started realizing it was so much the A-Team with different names.(I was an 80's kid) let's compare: Elite squad set up by somebody, now the squad is on the run from the gov't lookin to clear their names. (A-Team's exact storyline) elite specialists with "cool" call names (and a normal 1 or 2): Roque, Pooch, Cougar, Jensen, and Clay kinda like A-Team: Faceman(they called em Face), B.A., "Howling Mad" Murdock, and Hannibal. Like I said I liked it but it's a stolen idea, renamed. It's just the A-Team. Oh then there's the chick, "Aisha" . yeah A-Team had Amy. Bad guy trying ta snuff ya out? The losers had Max, the A-Team had Stockwell then Decker. I liked it I really did, it's just plain straight as I can put it stolen. The new A-Team will be out soon, you decide, this is just my own opinion :)
The Naked Brothers Band (2007)
Interesting show with lots of talent
I've watched the show with my niece and I thought it to be pretty interesting and young Nat is certainly talented and has a great voice, quite powerful I thought for such a youngster. Another viewer wondered why the show was on teen nick, well Nat is 13....as well as the lead singer and the write of the music he sings. His cousin Jesse who well plays Jesse is also a teen. My niece is 12 and she enjoys the show thoroughly. I would recommend it for young teens as these kids explore the silly side of young puppy love as well as friendship and adventures in school. Check it out and keep an eye on it, you may find yourself surprised. I for one found that little Fishing for Love song a little catchy.
Dale (2007)
Dale vs 3
WHile it was a nice movie i think it is just ridiculously being compared to ESPN's 3 and the two are hardly the same time of movie. One user even listed 3 as fictions which it isn't. Dale is a nicely put together narrated version of Dale Earnhardt's life vie the use of old clips and interviews. It's a nice documentary, but a documentary none the less. I think something alittle more combined like the 3 and Dale together would be the best way to pay homage to great Intimidator.
Watch it, love it, live it. It's bring you to tears, break your heart, and make you smile and grin. It's a documented story that grabs your heart.
The Truth About Charlie (2002)
A greatly under appreciated film.
The movie was great, the plot was carried over well, There weren't any scenes that left you wondering...what just happened, what did I miss, what was the director thinking, did the movie change tracks in the middle of the plot? This movie was well directed and the screen play worked beautifully accommodated by great acting. I don't know why critics have rated this film as low as they have, perhaps they are arrogantly snubbing it due to it's status as a remake. Don't compare this movie to Charade, it's an entirely new set of acting talent that pulls it off well and set of course in modern times, the movie stands alone as if Charade never existed. Go see this movie, rent it, but it, find it on TV, it's been frequently broadcast on USA. I give it two thumbs up!
Return to Halloweentown (2006)
The Resurrection of the franchise
I actually think that this installment of the Halloweentown movies has been one of the best so far, and in being so has potential to revive the franchise with the ever beautiful Sarah Paxton filling int he shoes of Marnie, giving her more personality that she desperately needed. The storyline kept in-line with the previous movies and characters who did not show up were properly explained away. I believe they got extremely lucky casting Sarah Paxton as she looks almost like Kimberly J. Brown's twin, but even more beautiful. Should they follow suite and make another movie and keep to the Kal storyline that is now due up,and maybe even toss the magical necklace "Gift" back into the story and the franchise should handle pretty well so long as they don't attempt to replace anymore cast members. This means however after one more movie, it would most likely be and should be the end of the line. Tossing in a few new baddies such as the Sinister sisters, was a brilliant idea,as well as her flirtation with Ethan, it added the dimension that the movie needed to bring out more of Marnie's personality, rather than the usual tree hugging bookworm version of the past. Marnie has now evolved from a boring insecure nerd who discovers she's magical, into a beautiful teen idol ripe for the worshiping by teenage boys and girls alike. I smell a potential Sabrina like possibility for her. Parlaying her into a spin off movie of her own without the rest of the original cast might not be a bad idea.Mopst of the original cast was in place, but if your looking for Debbie Reynolds, she only makes a brief cameo in a boiling pot...and well no Sophie, she is off with Grandma Aggie learning to be a witch.
