Jagten (2012)
Great acting but terrible story!
The acting is good, especially Mads Mikkelsen's, but the story development is terrible.
The idea is good and had a great potential, but, for some reason, the writer decided that almost every character in the movie is stupid.
A little girl told a lie and everyone believed her very easily although they knew she had a "vivid imagination". No one tried to investigate or make sure the accusation was true. They just asked leading questions and put ideas in the rest of the kids' heads. And when the girl confessed her lie, no one believed her. A whole town of idiots.
Unless this movie is a dystopia about how stupid people could get in the future, it is not worth watching.
I gave it a 5 because I enjoyed the acting, otherwise it deserves a 1.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019)
Very enjoyable.
I enjoyed watching this movie.
I almost did not because of the low rating and negative reviews.
I am glad I took the risk. While watching, I kept wondering why people find it too bad. It is not the best X-Men movie, but it is very enjoyable.
Also, Sophie Turned did a very good job. I loved her face expressions when Jean went dark.
Joker (2019)
Good but Not Amazing
A good movie, but didn't meet my high expectations. A side effect of exaggerated positive reviews.
Joaquin Phoenix's performance was great, but I kept waiting for the movie to get deeper and darker. That never happened. It felt like a comedy, not a thriller as it is classified on IMDB. Some slow parts made me feel bored.
I also could not see how this joker became .a criminal mastermind.
My Sister's Keeper (2009)
Ok
I read the book first, so I was disappointed to see that the movie's focus was Kate only.
Anna has a very small role in the movie compared to the book. She was much more interesting in the book.
Jessie's side story in the book was completely eliminated. He hardly has any role in the movie. I liked book's Jessie, so I was not pleased with reducing his story to only one important scene.
I liked Julia. She is not in the movie at all.
Campbell has a very small role in the movie, and he is less interesting.
I understand that the movie cannot be as detailed as the book, but to ignore all stories except Kate's? that was not good.
All the other characters were too shallow in the movie.
The only thing I think they did well was the ending. I did not like the book's ending, so I was glad they changed it.
Anyway, it was an ok movie which I struggled to finish. Maybe if I had not read the book, I would have had another opinion.
