Will Trent (2023)
Fun show, spoiled by one bad actor
Fun show, something you can half-watch and still enjoy, nothing too serious or meaningful. Gives Monk vibes.
The main character, the partner, the love interest are all likeable, but the boss is a terrible actor and ruins every scene she's in. It's a real shame, it's like she's reading the lines off a piece of paper and everything she says is in the exact same tone. Also, it seemed like the dog would play a prominent role, but she's hardly in it - either use the dog, or lose the dog.
If the boss can be replaced and the writing tightened up a bit, this has the potential to be a long-running light-hearted detective show.
The Pogmentary (2022)
Delusional egotism
Deluded egocentric drivel of no importance, featuring a lazy, overhyped footballer with poor character... if you enjoy watching a clown, go to the circus instead.
Making the Cut (2020)
Great designers, awful judges, horrible format
I want to love this show, I am obsessed with clothes and style and want to see more great designers and incredible outfits.
However, the show is a disaster, it's like they took all the worst bits of Project Runway and added some extra.
The judging panel is appalling, the judges personify the very worst aspects of the fashion industry. Tim Gunn is the only "expert" that emerges with any credibility as a human.
As for the format, I don't even know where to start.
Please sack Heidi and Naomi as a priority, get rid of the other two judges, reformat completely and bring it back for season two.
Five stars out of five for the designers and their clothes, no stars out of five for the rest of it.
Moulin Rouge! (2001)
Literally the worst film I have ever seen, no redeeming qualities whatsoever
This is simply head-achingly, gut-churningly, fingernail-curlingly bad. It was so horrible it made my hair hurt. The previous night I had watched Inspector Gadget and decided it was the worst film I'd ever seen. Then I watched Moulin Rouge and had to instantly change my opinion. Everything that was horrendous about Inspector Gadget is equally true of Moulin Rouge, plus much more besides.
I can't believe this film was nominated for awards, I actually feel sick after watching it and created an IMDb account purely so I could rate it 1 out of 10 and write this review in an attempt to exorcise the demons. Literally the worst thing I've ever seen.
The plot, the characterizations, the dialogue, the musical butchery, the cinematography, the sound effects, the acting, the lighting.. every single aspect of film-making that went into Moulin Rouge was just excruciating. I feel like the guy in The Crying Game, when he's crouched in the shower trying to scrub away the pain.
I genuinely cannot express the sheer awfulness of this film, I am traumatised by it. I cannot understand how a single human being could possibly feel anything but contempt for this monstrosity.
Bad, bad, bad to the point of being evil
