Mr. Nobody (2009)
Not impressive
The first... Well, the ENTIRE movie I wasn't sure where the plot was going or what the director wanted to do with it. This isn't necessarily a bad thing except it ended up not going anywhere. There was no big 'aha' moment or explanation that tied a lot of the random scenes that are scattered in this movie together.
The one redeeming quality this movie had was one point Nemo made at the end of the movie. He said that it doesn't matter which of the storylines was the 'real' one because they all mean just as much. I thought that was kinda beautiful. But I didn't really care about the rest of the movie.
The incoherentness made me check my phone every 2/3 minutes, the incomplete storylines made me lose interest, and the end made me sigh and glad it was over with.
Insatiable (2018)
Actually better than I expected
I didn't really expect much of this show but it turned out to be pretty good and pretty funny.
It's a campy and fun show with a good message. I loved the double entendres and the fact that it takes place in the south. It has good roles for actors and actresses of all ethnicities, sexual orientation and gender identities. A very interesting take on current issues.
Don't write it off because of the trailer, just watch a couple of episodes and then decide what you think about it.
The Shannara Chronicles (2016)
Thought it was trash at first, but it's actually pretty good
When I first started watching the show I had no idea what it was about, so when I discovered that it took place in a world full of elves, gnomes, trolls, and magic I was sort of taken aback. The first few episodes weren't that great either and I didn't really like it. But when I kept on watching this show really sucked me in. I can honestly say that I'm really enjoying it now and I like the Lord of the Rings feel it has.
So if you didn't like the first couple episodes and you're not sure if you want to watch the rest of the show, I say just do it!!! It really gets better and I'm already excitedly waiting for the next season to come.
